I was actually in a squad of 5 people for one match. No idea if it was a big glitch or anything.

I think they need to support larger squads. I'd be content with eight people, and for the game to do a better job keeping squads together from match to match.

It's one thing their MP is really missing... something like a party system.

I'm gonna try and get 5 guys into a game tonight and see how simple it is.

Excuse my languange. I had fucking horrible teams and squads today. I haven't seen so many cowards on a team in a whole day. I went in a lot set a charge sat for 30 second protecting it until I was overwhelmed. My squad and teammates was just hiding behind boxes doing nothing at the last stand.

The whole time I was playing today was like this even when I switched rooms after game.
Bunch of sissies.

got that marksman pin tonight! is that for 10 headshots or 10 marksman headshots? i swear i had to have gotten 10 regular headshots before now.

the funniest part of the game where i got the pin was on the 3rd base on offense...

the team previously showed that they were playing well enough, so i was playing recon and i was in the hills behind that red house, ducking in a bush by a tree sniping at people near the 3rd set of crates. i was doing pretty well too, spotting, getting marksman headshots, protecting the crates, and picking off people on the bridge. i shared out some headshots to some people trying to disarm the crates too.

so one guy in particular, i killed this guy twice, as in, i killed him, he got revived, i killed him again and the guy who revived him got killed by someone else. i guess he gets mad or something because i was looking at the corner of the red building a minute or so later and THREE OF THEM ROLL UP, him (assault), an engineer and a recon taking up the rear position. i guess they weren't 100% sure on my exact location, but they knew i was up in the hills behind the red building and they were looking around and moving forward.

i was low on sniper rifle ammo and thought i was gonna die, but i knew i had to try to defend myself. so from the bushes, i took aim and killed the recon first. can't have him suddenly remember to throw a motion sensor, amirite? as soon as they realize he got dropped, both of them sprint forward and RUN RIGHT PAST ME to the big rock about 20ft past me, so i take this opportunity to switch to my M1911 and empty it into the back of the engineer. the assault guy turns around and starts firing, and i start to do the chicken dance behind the tree while he pretty much misses almost all of his shots. so now, he ducks behind the rock to reload and i've just finished reloading. so i take a deep breath, aim and wait, and as soon as he pops out *BLAM*BLAM*BLAM*BLAM*BLAM*BLAM*BLAM* empty my clip on him, he's dead, i'm alive!

so i grab his kit, throw an ammo pack and restock, i felt so awesome at that moment.

I agree on the bigger squads comment!

They also need to add in a better squad system.

I hate how it will seperate you from your squad after a match is over..... even if you had already set up a squad prior to going into a match.

I know it doesn't do this everytime but it's still rather annoying when it does happen.

I think the issue with squads is that they have gameplay consequences. People spawn in on squad members. I'm fine with how the spawning is right now, sometimes you're shooting at a guy and suddenly two more might appear... it rarely happens and I can live with it. But if seven or so other people spawn in on the same guy? Not cool.

I think they should have the traditional four man "squads", but also the ability to build a "party" that will keep squads together in the menus and games, and allow communication for the entire party.

That's my suggested best case scenario... but I really hope they at least do something to improve squad functionality.

Man, you just pulled me back into the game with that tale :D So Awesome :D

Yeah... I'd rate that story: KimboSlice/10. :lol

Getting 5 guys into the same game last night proved impossible, every time we tried it our squad of was always put into a game of 12 vs 12 so there was no room to invite anyone else.

And on one occasion later in the night, we'd formed a squad of 4 at the BFBC2 "play with friends" menu, and when we went to find a game it split up the squad in the very first game... I'd formed the squad and it put me on one team, and the other 3 guys were put on the other team. This was despite the fact that there was still an empty place on the team where my 3 mates were! A random had been put on my friend's squad so it was full and I couldn't just leave and then join their squad from the "play with friends" menu, the only solution was for everyone to quit the game and then to start again. Not the greatest system...

Beta finishes December 21st :(

The BFBC2 PS3 Beta has been a huge success thanks to a the massive participation (300,000+ people) and invaluable feedback. The team is, and has been, very busy reviewing tons telemetry data, feedback from the community, and implementing it into the final game for an amazing launch this March 2010! The Beta will close December 21st so make sure to get your playtime in so when the demo releases your skills are still sharp!

Here is some fun data we collected:
- Total kills = 45.42M
- 9.4M kills from Vehicles
- 3.43M Vehicles Destroyed
- 380K Houses Destroyed
- 1.01M Marksman Headshots
- Total number of points awarded = 10 100 094 360
- Total number of Revives = 2.52M
- Total Repair Tool kills = 15.58K
- Total Defibrillator Kills = 12.69k
- Total Knife Kills = 1.69M
- Total C4 Kills = 730.81K

Again, thank you so much to everyone that participated in the PS3 Beta and we hope to see you in the Demo early next year! And after that the real deal, the Battlefield to rock the year 2010, Battlefield Bad Company 2! :-)

Match made in heaven

Seriously though the Javelin from Mw2 without its ability to target tanks , or helicopters but still able to lock on to pieces of land would be fantastic in BC2 against fixed targets such as camping squads. Not to mention good against a tank on a hill that refuses to move and rains down shells on a crate and is too far for your rpgs to hit it.

Why the hell do you keep going on about that?

Anyway, I'm hoping the PC beta will feature fixes to stuff that has been found in the current one. I hate that crate at the 4th checkpoint!

Man just played against somebody dirty when defending so I did the same tactic against him and he left the game after we on :lol

Felt good because I knifed him as well :D

Jesus christ we get it.

It's already in the game as the mortar strike (it's an unlockable gadget for the Recon class). Uses radio targeting so you can lock onto fixed targets such as camping squads. Good against a tank on a hill that refuses to move and is too far away for your RPGs to hit it.

Somebody dirty? You mean they were using the kit swap glitch, or something else?

Also amen to the prayer that we get a different map in the demo; having said that I'm still not bored of Arica Harbour after 40 something hours. :D

There are about four maps from BC1 that I could play infinitely. And about two that made me want to throw my gamepad when they came up (Fuck I'm looking at you Ascension).

Shooting B from the highway bridge on the last stand is pretty dirty to me. I did it back to them the next game for revenge. He left afterwards.

What as a sniper or in a tank? I'm trying to get my head around the layout and sightlines there... is that even effective?

Why would that bother you? I always get a kick when a tank sits back and does stuff like that since I'll just run up and repair the crate and all their effort was for nothing :)

Shooting with a tank. Next to the wrecked car. You can get a clear shot of B at the last stand. When he first did it too me I was like where the fuck is it coming from. I got next to the crate to die to find out.

Boom he was on the bridge way out of range. Next game I went for vengeance and did the same. My team was down to 34 life left after I blew it up. I snuck to the right side because the enemy has the left side covered. I ran right behind the enemy into Crate A and blew it up with 6 C4 since they played dirty I did also. I felt like Solid Snake :lol

It was direct blows to the crate. If you repair it you die.

Sounds like that's the time to break out the kit swapping glitch and pile health up near the crate... enough that someone can survive tank shell splash damage (maybe?).

That might work but I'm no glitcher :lol Somebody could just sneak behind me while I'm repairing and knife me and set off the crate anyways. My team was awful at defending.

It still doesn't stop the tank bombardment. When I did it for revenge nobody stopped me because I was so damn far away. Can't really expect a person to run from the end of last stand all the way to the bridge just to C4 a tank. By the time he reaches there the crate would have been gone long ago.

I can understand why they don't want the squads to be more than 4 people, since a squad of 8 would mean 7 guys spawning on one player could be overwhelming if they got behind enemy lines. But, at the very least they should allow a party of 8, split into two squads, I have a lot of friends on my list that play BC and we can never play together as one single group.

I've become a master at the carbomb! When I am attacking I make it my job to blow up tanks with my nifty C4 delivery system.

1. Apply atleast 3 sticks of C4 to a Hummer or an ATV. Preferably an ATV because it is faster and it is a smaller target.

2. Drive your vehicle towards a Tank or a building if you have more than three sticks of C4 on your vehicle.

3. Line up your target with your vehicle.

4. Once your vehicle gets within forty yards, hop out at full speed.

5. Let the ghosted vehicle crash into the target. Switch to your detonator. Pull the trigger and get a bottle of Windex to clean off the cum that has magically appeared on your TV.

Lately I have been using the carbombs more for taking down buildings. You can effectively take down the buildings for the second base with one carbomb loaded with 5 or 6 C4's.

It would be cool if you can communicate with the other 2 squads. More tactical strategies can be done that way.

Yeah, or at least have proximity chat.

Also, if you really want to jihad jeep in an authentic fashion, you can blow yourself up with the truck too. Just switch twice so that you're in the back of the truck and trigger it that way, paradise is waiting.

how can you hate ascension?

i LOVE ascension, especially on defense!

that sounds awesome!

So there is a multiplayer demo confirmed for consoles coming soon? I knew about the PC beta, but not another demo.

I've been out of the loop, but played tonight again for the first time and it drew me right in again for about 4 hours.

Or have it like KZ2, proximity chat and open mic squads. I jus want to be able to talk to my gunner/driver.

Hmm Panama Canal news...Should it be blackout time or hold off...

I hope the demo has conquest or one of the other two modes.

Have we heard of any promotions that EA might be doing trying to get MW2 players to get rid of their copies for a BC2 copy?

I got MW2 on PC and 360 (I did this for the first one as well), PC for SP with good graphics and to get to use a key & mouse. The 360 version is for MP so I can play with all my friends who only play on consoles (I only have 1 friend that is a PC gamer and he will only play WOW).

The problem is that MP is so broken in this damn game that no one wants to play, me included...in fact I've only played 3 times, and that was all during release week!

I am a diehard PC gaming Battlefield fan and have owned every game and expansion pack since the BF42 demo, including BF43 on 360 and now the BC2 demo on PS3. I am absolutely loving this demo and haven't had this much fun in a BF game since the Desert Combat mod.

I am going to keep my PC copy of MW2 because I am sure they will eventually fix it, add server support, and hopefully even mod support. Regardless I am definitely going to get rid of my 360 copy and would love to trade it for a copy of BC2...so with EA hyping this game so much as a MW2 killer does anyone know or have some insight into some type of "trade in your MW2 game and get BC2 for $20!" kind of promotion?

I would love to get rid of MW2 without taking to much of a bath...if nothing else lesson learned on buying 2 copies of a game without even playing it first (I got hit head on by the hype train).

December 21st will be the saddest day of the Year for me when Beta ends. :(

Yesterday was 4 wins and 1 loss. Twice denied the attackers the very first base. I love being on teams that "get it". Total shut down of the attackers. I want to send DICE my left pinky finger, so they know I care.
