Bar Rescue is a pretty good show

You guys realize how absolutely fucking fake and staged this show is, right? My gf and I tried to watch some last night and had to turn it off after a few minutes. Everyone is basically a (bad) actor. Awful, awful show.

Thank you for your opinion, it has improved this thread immensely.

"Yeah I took the sweatshirt, put it on and took it home without paying for it but I didn't steel it! I've never stolen anything in my life!"

She had every intention of paying for it though bro

Food trucks are good most of the time as far as food quality. But in my experience, they completely break down during any high volume event. Maybe I've just had bad luck. 30-45min wait in line then another 20min wait for your food.

Plus they seem to be expensive. I guess a random truck or two outside of a bar is best rather than one of those rallys.

The Piratez ep was godlike. Goddamn you could not make that shit up.

According to people who I've seen talk about it and live in the area (and also patrons of the bar), they actually did make a lot of it up. Someone was talking about it on SA

Also, apparently, Bar Rescue left the Corporate bar in a huge mess after leaving. And the self-serving taps were illegal in their area and they had to remove them.

Ah the old Taffer eyes. If the Taffer eyes come out, you know theres gonna be some shit going down. My favourite part of the show is when the Taffer eyes emerge and Jon loses his shit.

When did this happen? I've missed a bunch of episodes.

I don't think it aired. They showed it on TMZ though.
Taffer sent his wife to spy on the bar & the owner started hitting on her.
He showed her that if you bring together your forearm & bicep, it looks like a vagina.

After that, Taffer stormed in & started yelling & getting in the owner's face.
Apparently he hit him & after realizing what he did, he pretended to faint.

The punch must not have aired but that episode definitely did.

Not to justify what Taffer did, but that guy was a real piece of shit in the beginning.

Here's a report on that lawsuit: http://www.barrescueupdates.com/2014/04/is-bar-rescue-fake-lawsuit-says-so.html
When filming Dr. Wilkes at the bar, Dr. Wilkes was doing pushups against the bar and dancing around. Producers were unsatisfied with the level of extremity, so told him to make disreputable comments to women in the bar.
In a later interview before the show, the producer said that in order to "get the show," Dr. Wilkes had to make offensive comments about women. He was assured that the comments wouldn't be seen by the public and Jon Taffer would be the only one seeing them. The producer asked graphic questions about women's parts, and when Dr. Wilkes' responses weren't graphic enough, the producer coached him to make his responses more graphic, and to "say it like this."
Producers told Dr. Wilkes that Nicole Taffer would be coming into the bar to help with the casting tapes, and when she arrived with a friend, the producers texted Dr. Wilkes to stay away until they give him a cue to approach them.
When he got the cue, he approached them and talked to them, while the producers watched from a control room. The producers weren't satisfied so texted Dr. Wilkes to "Hit on [Mrs. Taffer] hardcore!!"
While watching the scene from an SUV, Jon Taffer allegedly called the control room to tell them to have a drink near the spot where he intended to confront Dr. Wilkes, so he could throw it in his face. He allegedly said to a colleague, "Now I'm going to show you why my show is Number One."
Dr. Wilkes then claimed that Jon Taffer came in to confront him, showed him footage of his audition tapes where he insulted the way Jon dressed. Jon then grabbed the drink in his hand, threw it in his face and smashed the cup in his face. Jon then spit in his face and tore off his shirt so violently that buttons ripped off his shirt. Jon then picked up the second drink that was planted and threw it in Dr. Wilkes face. After that, Jon swung at Dr. Wilkes' head with his electronic tablet, and turned to go towards his coat. Dr. Wilkes thought he was going for a weapon so tried to restrain him, and was punched in his left jaw by Jon Taffer. Jon Taffer began hyperventilating and collapsed on the floor, and the entire attack was caught on camera.
As a result of this attack, Dr. Wilkes suffers from emotional distress and things such as migraines, nausea, vomiting, night terrors, crying spells, severe depression, and anxiety attacks.

I just found this:

http://www.tmz.com/2014/04/08/bar-rescue-lawsuit-jon-taffer-wife-vagina-fight/

Jon Taffer then made HIS move ... according to the lawsuit, Taffer had been watching the filming outside and came rushing into the bar, called Dr. Wilkes a pervert and a scumbag, and then smashed the drink Wilkes was holding into his face.

Wilkes claims when his friends tried restraining Taffer he threw a haymaker at him ... which apparently was too much because Taffer began hyperventilating and fell to the floor." Dr. Wilkes says he now has migraines, nausea, vomiting night terrors and crying spells.

But there's a slight problem -- we pulled the clip from the episode Wilkes is referring to and unless the editors at "Bar Rescue" are magicians, none of it backs up his battery claims. Watch it for yourself.

Doctor, heal thyself!

Sounds like the doctor is lying his fucking ass off and is trying to imply he has PTSD.

They are opening tonight place looks nice outside. If I get out early from work I might try to go.

Have a feeling this place will fail badly. They are making it a wine bar and not catering to the normal crowd they are going for the upperclass in a shitty area.

Really lame they made it a franchise of the guy that came to help. Felt like more of a giant ad than usual. And it would've been nice to keep some part of the original place.

I remember watching this show once, and there was a cleanliness issue with a special drink the bar he was working on served. The just mixed the old drink mix with the new, never washing the dispenser. Taffer said "you can't do that, you have to start cleaning this thing just like you would any other food surface." Of course, he's John Taffer, so he was yelling at the guys when he said it.

In the face of someone telling a basic truth, you can't have dirty food containers, one of the partners just would not give in. He wouldn't admit that not cleaning something was a bad idea, and wouldn't say "okay, you're right, we'll clean it from now on." Instead, the guy stormed out, I believe never to be seen again.

It was interesting, Taffer was right, there was no excuse for that drink dispenser to be dirty. At the same time, he could have handled the situation differently. He didn't need to yell a them at that point, I don't think. Whenever I think back to that episode, I wonder if things would have played out differently if Taffer had taken a softer approach, if that guy could have admitted to the problem and made a decision to do things differently if the situation hadn't been escalated so far so fast.

Last nights episode was neat, I'd especially want to try that spicy ass ghost pepper grilled cheese challenge, that thing looked delicious.

And the urinal game hahahaha.
