Bastille - Pompeii is literally the worst song right now

I like it, but it's a bit overplayed by now. That new single off the night, is really really awfull though.

Having the first listen now, it seems utterly boring indie rock. Pretty manufactured sounding, very boring, very predictable, but not the worst, unfortunately.

Laura Palmer is the better Bastille song.

You. I like you. I was actually gonna post that too, then figured people on GAF didn't like the band anyway so there really wasn't a point. Bad Blood has so many great tracks, Pompeii is overplayed.

I'm guessing this is a song? I think I've seen that name before in a music shop. Is this another thread about complaining what garbage is on the radio or that this is overplayed?

I'm not curious enough to youtube this, though.

Why not? It would have been quicker than writing a post to inform us you don't know what we're talking about.

Their new single, 'Of the Night/Rhythm is a Dancer' is just terrible... You can imagine they saw the success Florence had with 'You got the Love' and said 'Ooooh, we can so something like that tooooooo!'

Oh god, is that them too?

Jesus, they really are terrible.

The video has dead people singing as a detective wanders around a crime scene. It makes no sense whatsoever.

I enjoy the Monsieur Adi remix a lot. I don't listen to radio so I don't have to hear the song however often they play it, but I think the original is okay anyway. I really like Oblivion off the album and I think Icarus is pretty good.

damn i just checked out their cover of rhythm of the night. surprised it's hated so much in this thread, i like it. has nothing on the original though.

That song (both versions) makes me want to punch kittens.

I do like Things We Lost in the Fire, though -- I think that's Bastille?

Just spotify'd this... kinda overproduced (most stuff on the radio is) but I wouldn't change the channel if this came on in the car. I really enjoy BGVs like this.

I realize this song has been out for quite awhile, but I finally listened to it the other day. I had the hardest time getting past the chanting in the beginning, but after I listened to the full song it's officially stuck in my head.

I've since listened to several of their other songs and watched their videos. I'm really enjoying them so far. I understand why they wouldn't be a lot of people's cup of tea, but I love the whole David Lynch obsession the singer seems to have. Also, their videos, especially Flaws and Pompeii remind me of my childhood: arcades and carnivals.

I know a lot of people don't like Of The Night, and honestly the first time I heard it I didn't exactly like it either, but I really enjoyed the video even though it's pretty bleak.

The Abbey Road version of Flaws is still my favorite though. http://youtu.be/gzRBoZb3GKw

I 'd say that Arcade Fire is slightly more mainstream than the Decemberists, but slightly less so than The Black Keys or NMH.

Wat.

This might just be a Canada thing but AF is huge. No fucking way they have less mainstream presence then Neutral Milk Hotel, who haven't released anything noteworthy in 15 yeas.
