Batgirl confirmed as second Injustice DLC character

So freaking ugly, I thought the cowl was supposed to be bat inspired not some devil thing.
also looks like she went a little Hector Hammond from Green Lantern

won't get her unless she has a much better alt.

Probably not Steph, though, since Didio seems to actively HATE her (and her fans).

I would have been fine with Cass or Kate, though. :\ Nothing against Babs, she was just better as Oracle.

Has the reason for this ever come to light or is it just the fanbase for Cass and Steph became a lot louder than DC ever expected and they don't see what the fuss is about?

She looks terrible. Her anatomy is Rob Liefeld level of nonsense.

Barbara just sells better. She is doing like 3x what the Stephanie Brown run did.
But then you have a comic like Batwing which is doing 10,000 less than Steph Batgirl and 18,000 less than Cass did.
and that still doesn't explain why they were completely written out of existence
or why higher-ups blocked multiple people from using them as supporting characters pre New52

and with Cass they even decided to go out of their way to de age her mom all the way down to Nightwings age so that she can't return for the forseeable future.

Batwing I'd chalk up to an attempt at diversity and brand expansion.

I can't claim to understand the reasons they've been sidelined except that they just aren't as critical to the Bat mythos. They probably wished they could have trimmed some of the Robins too, but they are just too popular to give up.

The higher ups dont like them (Wally West, Cassandra Cain, and Stephanie Brown), nothing more, nothing less.
If you try to look for sales or revelance, it even makes less sense.

So I will go with the Geoff Johns and Dan Didio dont like them so they dont want to use those characters anymore, at least it what makes more sense right now, even if they make this two persons look like fanatic fools.

You have to wonder how much of your identity is actually hidden with a mask that only covers your massive forehead.

That's like complaining about xmen characters in marvel games ;)

actually there arent that many xmen in marvel 3 , there are more avengers actually. Because everyone in marvel seems to be on the avengers.

And yes there were too many xmen in marvel 2.

X-men

wolverine
storm
magneto
x-23
pheonix
and sometimes deadpool.

Avengers

Cap
Iron man
thor
wolverine
spiderman
hulk
storm
hawkeye
ant man cameo
she hulk
And if you count defenders, Dr.Strange

FF officially recognized or temporary members of the fantastic 4

She Hulk
Spiderman
Ghost rider
Dr.Doom

Would it make more sense if I told you Freddy Kreuger was the best selling MK DLC, and MK likely sold more than Injustice?
Oh I know exactly why they chose who they chose, but I will not excuse it. Fuck 'em.

Another completely unnecessary Batman character, a movie advertisement, and a fucking Mortal Kombat character. Good job, NRS.

The fourth DLC character in Mortal Kombat being a guest was relatively tolerable in comparison considering there weren't really a whole lot of Mortal Kombat characters left to add. But Scorpion getting in in place of an actual DC character? No, fuck that.

So there's really only one DLC character that is a complete unknown huh? Let's hope it's someone good. *coughBOOSTERGOLDcough*
All four are known. Lobo, Batgirl, Zod, and Scorpion.

So wait. Does this mean that Tara Strong is voicing three Injustice characters now?
Batgirl is likely going to be voiced by Kimberly Brooks, who voices Oracle in the Arkham games--she's listed in the voice credits but as of yet does not appear to be the voice of a character in the game.

Martian Manhunter, Darkseid, Dr. Fate, Cheetah, Black Manta, Beast Boy would all be really great. I'm still in shock that Manhunter wasn't in the base game.

I understand this really stinks (Should have been Steph!), but for me I'm looking at the upside. She's most likely gonna be a combination of Catwoman and Nightwing and hey those are my 2 best characters right now. So I'm kinda optimistic at the moment.

Any word on if the DLC characters will have their own STAR Labs missions?

No word but we will find out on Tuesday how they are doing Lobo and that will be a good indication on how they will handle the rest. I am pretty sure each character is for sure getting arcade endings and alternate costumes only make sense. So yeah, STAR Labs are probably the big unknown (though also probably the least important for most people).

Batwoman (Katherine Kane) was a character introduced in the 1950's after a psychiatrist insisted that Batman and Robin were gay, since at the time this was seen as a large negative, and secondarily because the "Superman family" was proving popular in the Superman comics.

Batgirl (Betty Kane) followed up shortly as Batwoman's niece, but was fairly quickly replaced by Barbara Gordon, who is Commissioner Gordon's daughter. She was then proceeded to be replaced by lots of other Batgirls, but the one in the OP is her.

There's also the modern Batwoman, Kate Kane who was kicked out of the military on "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" grounds and is romantically involved with Gotham PD's Renee Montoya. She became inspired after Batman swooped in for the rescue just after she finished beating up a mugger who was attacking her, and decided to put her military training to use with her father's assistance as Batwoman:

Freddy Krueger in MK9 made sense as a guest 'cause he fit the universe as if made for it, and nobody had ever seen Freddy in a fighter. It was a great novelty.

Scorpion in Injustice seems beyond redundant. I can't believe it was Boon's suggestion. Smells like execs at WB looking for a tie-in to a very successful prior title.

They fucked up straight off the bat by using the wrong Freddy.
