Batman: Arkham Knight - Ace Chemicals Infiltration Part 2

Ok, the trailer was cool. But all this "the Batmobile is a negative" stuff combined with all the people who never wanted Arkham City but another Asylum....c'mon. It's not Batman without: A.) Gotham City and B.) the car.

It's why I skipped Asylum and was hesitant on City in the first place. Without them you might as well make a game about someone else.

Nope disagree, and I take City and Origins over Asylum. Batman isn't about shooting 50 cal guns, rockets, and blowing shit up. The Batmobile stuff looks very out of place. The Batmobile should be a means to an end, to get you places, not to drive around in blowing shit up and doing property damage for the hell of it.

This post, I agree with it.

I know it was this way in the Dark Knight movies as well, but I'm really not a big fan of the tank-style batmobile, with all the guns, armor and explosives. I would rather have had the batmobile play a smaller role in the game and just be used to cruise around and look for crimes going on around Gotham quickly.

Almost feel bad saying this looking at all the detail that has gone into the model. But it just isn't my preferred style of batmobile.

Edit:

Yeah, this.

Meh... They have already several times shown car combat... only this time we got to see pointless cinematic version of a small fight.

Hopefully the third part that will be shown at PSX will have more interesting stuff.

The car is a reaction to the trouble batman is in ;) if it's war they want, it's war they get, but that's my interpretation.

I wonder how they will handle pedestrians and goons when you're driving the Batmobile, Batman doesn't kill so what if you run into one by accident?

Yeah. I'm worried now because they sad it's an important part of the game.

I hope it doesn't ruin the base gameplay and just walking around the city absorbing in the world. I loved doing that in AC.

Probably by making some reason for nobody to be out so that Gotham is just as barren as Origins was.

Why did they opt for that ugly ass blurry green filter. Reminds me of metal gear solid, a shame because the graphics look good without that awful design choice.

"Something happened/ is happening and nobody is outside tonight but a bunch of crazy goons with no shirts"

You'd still be killing a goon. I think you could see some of them in the streets (not on top of buildings only) while Batman was on the Batmobile in the E3 gameplay reveal.

Its already confirmed that the ordinary people are evacuated during the Events of Arkham Knight.

Still, if you run into a goon you'd definitely kill him/her.

If humans are nearby the batmobile forcefully stops using lethal ammo and only allows stun rounds of sorts.

Didn't they have some hogwash about how he's using "non-lethal" ammo or something, and that the tanks are unmanned?

The mental gymnastics they need to go through to get this batmobile in the game is hilarious.

They should have written the story differently, it feels completely out of place and not at all what I, or it seems many others want out of a Batman game.

Seriously for me they just needed to build on City and Origins. Give me all of Gotham to glide around, to run across rooftops in. Let me stop jewelry break ins etc etc. I don't go to Batman for tanks blowing up other tanks.

It's be like if TANK TANK TANK added sections where you go out of your tanks and had hand to hand fights with other tank operators.

Yeah but I'm talking about running into them, not shooting them down.

That was lame.

In fact, when I think of batman I don't wanna be stuck in a tank all day. I wanna fly and grapple around the city. Ill be in the car as little as possible.

That was a whole lot of nothing. No gameplay, or any meaningful content at all for that matter. This may as well have just been left attached to the previous trailer

How do they explain slamming people's faces into electrical panels. :P

"They're just stunned."

Looks like a shitty tank game.

Didn't Batman drive a 'Bat-tank' and shoot rubber bullets (honest) in "The Dark Knight Returns"?

Yes.

Second half of that trailer was pretty lame. I don't know why they had to show that at all. Weird.

Yea. Honestly Batman has guns on the Batmobile in most of its incarnations so I don't really have a problem with the guns. It's just that they're placing way too much emphasis on the Batmobile instead of Batman. The game is about Batman, not his car.

Ehhh, its just one of the big new features, of course they are going to be showing the crap out of it. I'm sure the game will have plenty of Batman.

The inclusion of heavy artillery on the batmobile still feels sacrilege. I'm having difficulty looking past it and hope it doesn't detract from the good thing Rocksteady's got going for them.

This basically shows everything I fear for in Arkham Knight.

This was pretty bad. Also lol at calling this an "infiltration", it's all-out war.

Love everything Arkham. This trailer could have been included in the 1st trailer though, here's hoping the 3rd trailer brings it!

I'm tired of this heavily edited shit they are calling "gameplay", please stop wasting our time.

And I don't know who thought it would be fun killing unmanned drones and vehicles, it's not.

I'm really afraid about this whole Batmobile thing. It just doesn't seem fun.

I mean the contrast between this and the batman gameplay segments it's like 2 different games. The game in this part 2 sucks.

After seeing this footage, now I can safely say this is a step up over previous Batman games especially concerning the FX. Incredible FX going on here.. lots of particles, smoke, turbulence, etc.. along with many many lights..

I look forward to this.

Big question: How much will the consoles be scaled back because of these features?
