No, this is THE delay. It was scheduled for a release in October, then got pushed back to 2015. This is the first time they've announced a potential release date themselves. All the others were speculation/hopes on our part.
And you thought this was for pre-orders? Pfft. Eff that. This is one of the most hotly anticipated titles this side of Destiny. They don't need pre-order help.
Lastly, I disagree. I want to know a projected release date ASAP. Otherwise, don't tell me about your game at all.

Man, I used to be so excited for October, especially since my bday is at the end of it. Now this, GTA, Evolve, and Assassins Creed Unity have all been delayed out of it

Great release date imo. Summer is always so barren.
The Origins suit is the best imo.
It sold out on amazon, the very day it was announced. Scalpers are gonna have a field day with this one.

Why do you need some arbitrary, non-concrete date (that is to say, its basically meaningless cause delays are the norm) to even hear about a game's announcement? Almost nothing, in games or other media, are given solid dates the minute their existence becomes known...

Hopefully another teaser or something before the end of the year!
I could use something a little more substantial. Gimme some farting around the city stuff. Zero story or big villains, just something in game and fun to watch.

A game release in the summer? Well.. It will sure help the drought that usually happens during that period but I probably will not buy this one until Autumn 2015.

That would be great - given some of the rumblings about performance issues, I wonder if the dev may hold off on more gameplay videos until they iron those out.

This is the most substantial footage so far. While terrible quality footage, it doesn't look to be running as bad as the old demo Giant Bomb described a ways back.
