Batman Arkham Knight System Requirements LEAKED (Geforce)

Yeah, maybe I overreacted a bit with my 980 comment. Maybe I was expecting to run this on ultra @1080p60 on my 970 without a scratch.

Silly me.

That's a pretty unexplicable mindset. You can't be assured to "max out" (whatever that means) X or Y game regardless of your hardware.

300$ card won't get you 1080p 60fps ultra for an upcoming AAA 2015 title. Maybe next time have some context first before posting such stupid comment.

Until you define what ultra is for a particular game then this makes no sense.

DMC (a last gen game with very last gen looking graphics on ultra) not running at 1080-60 on a gtx 970 would be stupid.
If batman looks as good as the e3 trailer (which it will not, not even on pc) then a 980 for 60 fps with those visuals sounds like a treat.

The obsession with "maxing out" is weird as hell. Tone a couple settings down to very high if you need to. The game will still look damn awesome either way.

I guess I will be fine playing this at 720p as I always do.

What a rude person.

Well, as I didn't expect the final game to run as showed on early footage like you've mentioned I expcted 970 to be actually able to run AK @1080p60.

I feel like every game has this same specs these days, probably hardware vendors "suggest" these to some extent... this is still a UE3 game, I think it will run well on a lot lesser hardware with physx stuff turned off.

What's bugging me about these system requirements releases is that none of the developers seems to indicate what resolution are these for.

Saying that a 980 is enough for Ultra in 4K is definitely a stretch.

Ben Wyatt?

Wonder if this is for 30fps or 60fps on the minimum. PS4 footage looked gread. (Officer Down)

I also think PS4 version looks great, the game on Ultra will probably blow it out of the water but I'm satisfied with what i saw and I'm happy with how a next gen Batman game looks on the PS4.

It's also cool that the game can take advantage of the highest end hardware, everybody should be happy =)

Hope to run it mediumish at around 60fps or highish at around 30fps with my 4670K/280X. I can probably forget about Ultra with high frame-rates, lol.

I always just assume 1080p/60fps. It seems to be the gold standard for gaming right now.

Well, worst case scenario, i'll just disable Physx Turbulence or environmental to play at Ultra on my 970.

Batman games had always the best implementation of the Physx particle System. They looked really great with minimal Performance cost, other than AC Black Flag Physx for example.
So i would disable something else and try to keep Physx enabled.

considering they are giving us these "ultra" specs I wonder what the recommended would give us in settings terms. Probably just medium/high.

Why not 1080p/30? This seems like a somewhat more golden standard.
But that's the case - I wish they would just say that explicitly in those system requirements.

Can't remember the last time system requirements meant anything.

I bet I'll power through yet another great looking game on hardware that doesn't meet all of the minimum specs, while looking and playing good.

I dislike system requirements because they rarely mention what resolution the game is running at for these requirements, which I find to be very important.

It's possible that if you have 2gb of VRAM you will have to settle with pretty ugly textures.
But surely that must be anything but surprising to you.

Based on my past experience if a game recommends 3gb of vram then 2gb of vram is fine for max textures.

I heard Unity runs "fine" with 2gb of VRAM while high textures are said to require 3.

No idea if AK will play out the same.

This is the first entry in the series not being constricted by last-gen hardware, I wouldn't expect it to run like it was.

Well when your CPU becomes the minimum requirements its time to upgrade.

Lol, my i5 2500k's not even the minimum anymore and I can still get 60fps in games like GTA5, Shadow of Mordor, etc.

What an asinine comment. Under what obligation are developers required to make the maximum settings of a game fit onto your outdated hardware?

Get over yourself.

I wish more people said this. Especially when the details of what "Max" settings or "ultra" settings entails, is completely unknown.

The minimum is perfectly acceptable at any rate

I'll agree that the implementation is great, but wouldn't say it had minimal performance cost. It's just that most of the time, it's the thing I care less and the first thing I used to disable if I had problems. Well, guess we'll see when the game launches.

This is the ultimate in entitlement of wanting things to conform to you. What frame of reference do you even have to understand what "ultra" entails? Let alone doing that at 1080p60. It should be exciting that a developer may possibly be pushing the boundaries of hardware and features, rather than jumping to the conclusion that it is bad since it doesn't conform to you

The only thing I don't beat in the Ultra Requirements is the GPU.

*Looks at 7970*

UUUGGGGGHHH Always the damn GPU.

An i7 for recommended settings? That's surprising.
It's everything but new. Dirt 3 (2011) recommended an I7. So did other games prior to 2013.

Is it really necessary though?
Not necessary in the strictest sense but it does make a difference in some games.
I reckon Ivy and Haswell I5 should be more than sufficient.
