That was pretty good.

DiMaggio's performance was solid. A bit off putting at first but by the finale, his one liners were spot on.

This movie only made me want to see Hush developed into a film.

It probably will be eventually.

This was basically the "Hush" storyline w/o
him dying again
. Is Red Hood/
Todd
now a fixture in the comics?

The action was PHENOMENAL btw...

You mean, the Jeph Loeb Hush? The one that kind of sucked when it was a comic? Or are we talking about another Hush?

I don't think you know who Hush actually is....

oh this was awesome, and I'll take more Nightwing anything
I liked the Jonah Hex thing too.

Nightwing was fantastic. I really think wish they'd make a Robin -> Nightwing movie.

I know it was
Tommy whatever his name was
, wasn't it? I meant that he wasn't suddenly dead again like in the comic :p

Oh, right :lol

Well, Jeph Loeb has never been a fan of continuity. That's just how he rolls!

I would love to see a Hush film made, just having the scene where Bats is going to kill Joker and doesnt even react to Gordon shooting him would be great.
Logically they will do it since it gives them an excuse to have a huge cast of well know charcters which would likely lure lots of people into buying it.

Neil Patrick Harris/Nightwing seemed pretty wasted in this film. I hope the next time he does something like this it's a little more substantial

This was excellent. Really the first film that felt like a comic come to life.

And Nightwing was the best fucking part. They animated his moves so well.

I really liked this, easily one of the best of DC's animated movies. The ending scene was a sucker punch of emotion. Greenwood and Ackles were excellent, and I liked DiMaggio as Joker. He seemed to take more cues from Heath's Joker than Hamill's, which is certainly not a bad thing.

My only complaint about the movie is Nightwing. Goddamn, his dialogue SUCKED.

Just finished watching this on Blu, and I think after an encore viewing, I may enjoy this more than Wonder Woman.

The pacing was near perfect and didn't feel like anything was wasted.

I dug most all the voices except for the Black Mask, and thought his characterization was off.

Agreed. I haven' read many comics with Black Mask or know too much about him, but every time I've seen him he came across as calm, cool, collected, and creepy as opposed to stereotypical angry mob boss.

Other than that, and Nightwing's dialogue/hasty exit, I thought it was great. Probably the best out of all of them. I thought they handled the last climactic scene
Jason holding the Joker at gun point
amazingly well and the very last scene really hit home on an emotional level.

Old?

Young Justice casting news: Bruce Greenwood is voicing Batman (reprising his role from Under the Red Hood), Rob Lowe as Captain Marvel, Jesse McCartney as Robin, Khary Payton as Aqualad, Jason Spisak as Kid Flash, Nolan North as Superboy, Danica McKeller as Miss Martian and Stephanie Lemelin as Artemis.

Just saw it. That ending. Damn. Made my eyes watery. Last fight between Bats and Red Hood was incredible as well. Joker took a little getting used to and wished for more Nightwing but overall probably my favorite DC animated effort.

I was a little skeptical about Young Justice when it was announced, but everything I've heard since has been amazing. It really sounds like the team has a good handle on the tone of the show.

DC Animated has been killing it recently. Man, they are seriously on fire.

I loved it, only thing that got on my nerves a little was the voice actor for Black Mask.

This was the first DC DTV that I've watched, and it was fairly enjoyable. The art and animation were pretty good, though the CGI was jarring. The story didn't really jive with me until towards the end. The dialog and some of the voice acting definitely could have been better. I didn't care for NPH's performance possibly due to the dialog, while Bruce Greenwood did a better job than I expected. Was this supposed to be the same continuity as Batman: The Animated Series?

The Jonah Hex short was a pleasant surprise.

No. None of the DC animated movies are part of any continuity; they're all standalone stories.

The CGi is something I wish they would stop with, they have never done it well, and it continues to stick out like a sore thumb.

I don't hold it against this movie because they've been doing it since JLU, and it was just as bad then.

Well, I just added all of Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond to my Blockbuster Online queue. After getting through both of those, I'll finally tackle Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. Ah crap, I'll need to watch Superman: The Animated Series too. :lol Fuck, this is really daunting.

While I'm sure many will disagree with me, I don't think those shows--or at least Batman: TAS--have aged all that well.

I'm actually not a fan of the voice work, it is incredibly uneven at times, and the animation of the characters is lacking compared to modern works, but the visual style still works, and the writing is still top notch.

Overall I still love it, but it has definitely aged.

Nah, TAS and JL/U are still awesome.

Oh I will most def disagree with you on all counts.

The shows are still amazing pieces of work. And I think that's what made them so awesome, they weren't written as kid's cartoons or even homages to fans. They stand on their own and are as enjoyable for adults/man-children.

Now Justice League is still fuckawesomesauce.

Still has great voice work, animation, stories, choreography. TAS has aged... but it is older. Still badass.

Lies and slander!

Lies and slander!

I'll give you animation as I think comparing it to The Batman, you can see how stiff the animation is and stuff, but the rest holds up perfectly fine!

Which shows have you done so far? I read your Batman: TAS and Beyond ones. Did you do Teen Titans?

I've done Batman: TAS
Superman TAS
Batman Beyond
Justice League/Unlimited
The Batman

I was supposed to do a X-men one with Christopher but he went and got married and now got a kid on the way, so who knows when that will happen.

Also wanted to do one for Spec Spiderman, but Disney needs to release season 2.

It's lies and slander that I think some of the voicework is uneven?:lol

It is! I never said other cartoons get it better.

I really enjoyed this while it shared a very similar plot to the Batman Beyond movie that I only watched pretty recently. The cover is hotter in person/photos: link. My one really big gripe with the movie? The LFE channel was constantly going during the first parts of the film for no reason, even when nothing of significance was happening. I love a good LFE track (for obvious reasons) but the first portion of this movie really annoyed the heck out of me. It does hit a point when it gets to normal however and then everything's dandy.

Because it had to be done

It was pretty good. Broad shoulders and squared chins abound.

The story was alright, but far too many people survived direct contact to massive explosions :lol Guess I'm just not used to reading comics anymore.

...also, Robin is the gayest (sorry) shit ever. Neil Patrick Harris was cool.

Great movie, but i didn't get final explosion sequence. Batman grabs the Red Hood but leaves Joker, the room explodes. When the explosion clears, Batman is by himself and Red Hood is no where to be found and Joker is under rubble.

Okay, I thought I was the only one confused by how that scene played out.

And I have no idea what happened. :lol

Jason used what he learned in Ninja 101. He had a good teacher. :P
