oh...well they have to stick to that, then.Showing it in imax theaters on Monday night. Gave out tickets, trying to make an event out of it
It really does seem like it's just a bad teaser, and doesn't really represent to the tone of the film it's trying to sell.
Which would be a new twist: A Snyder movie that might actually be more lighthearted/fun/interesting/cool than the trailer selling it.
That hasn't happened since what, Dawn of the Dead? 300?
The reaction is mixed in this thread that is fair to say. There is far more negative and "meh" reactions here than in the Star Wars teaser thread for example.
It's not about how hard the shield is. It's comic book science that allows for metal that absorbs energy.Or Cap taking the blunt of Thor's hammer and not getting flattened like a pancake. I don't care how hard Cap's shield was
surely not half, but snyder himself said he wants the viewer to take in the fact that thousands have died at the end of the movie
he said "probably around 5 thousand" which you're right, is definitely not half of metropolis, but it sure is bleak lol
he also just killed zod and any chance of his race being brought from extinction, he just screams once which i don't mind, but jumping to light and fun right after feels off imo. it's a heavy scene, but the emotional weight is almost cut off. they're struggling for time at that point though because it's a long ass movie
Superman can go through metal at ease, Hows that going to prevent batman from getting his ass whooped. Even if batman ends up landing a single hit on superman, wouldn't his arm/bones break? I tell you man, superman is too overpowered of a character it's not even funny.

It's made of Vibranium, man. The strongest alloy pulled out of Earth's ass.Or Cap taking the blunt of Thor's hammer and not getting flattened like a pancake. I don't care how hard Cap's shield was
That was rumors BUUUT... There are other rumors about that armor. Both are interesting.Fun idea: what if batman's mecha suit is made from harvested or synthesized materials from Zod's armor he discarded in the middle of Metropolis? Someone had to have gotten their hands on it.
Is it? He saved the human race. I don't know why he or the world should feel 100% depressed.
Not all superhero movies have to have primary colors and quips.

many people I talked to said that the cavill superman is the most relatable and they also thought before MoS that superman is a big douche. I also had no intersest in Superman before MoS.
Yes!!!!! MoS has been my favorite version of the character also.
That you think it must be one or the other says enough.
Nono, not about Batman's armor... I'm afraid of saying it, as it might turn out to be true. And it's big. Starts with a d.What other rumors? Crafted by Luthor or something?
Which is highly amusing as the Man of Steel version of the character is soulless and devoid of any emotion.
The Christopher Reeve version of Superman has heart and soul
The Henry Cavill version of Superman has no personality, no heart, no emotion. It's like watching an inanimate carbon rod on The Simpsosn.

It's how in Winter Soldier, Cap can fall a hundred feet, smash full-force on the ground, and not be hurt since the shield absorbs the impactAh I see..thanks Im not well versed with comic book science.
Hmm, so what happens if Supes punches him in the mouth?

This is the best description of Vibranium I've ever read. Thank you for the laughs! It's made of Vibranium, man. The strongest alloy pulled out of Earth's ass.

Batman legit kills people in this teaser.
Like, he eviscerates a dude firing a machine-gun out of the back of that Jeep.

Says enough on what?
I don't think that is his drone.
Trailer shows:
1- flying drone
2- bullets hitting ground
3- batmobile driving through explosion
IMO, that's government trying to kill Batman.
MoS Superman destroyed a planetary terraformer. A machine that is capable of reshaping a planet is probably more powerful than any known nuke! It was even powered with Krypton gas!People asking questions on how Bats can go toe to toe with Supes as if there hasn't been multiple times in the comics that different Bats have figured out how to level off the playing field. Heck the suit that Bats wears in the trailer is from a story where Bats leveled out the playing field by first having a nuke dropped on Supes, followed by Supes inhaling kryptonite gas, and even still Supes actually held his own and that fight ended with Bats getting a heart attack.
But my favorite version is actually in Red Son where Bats figured out that Red Sunlight could depower Supes (something that not even Supes knew about) and laid a trap for Supes to walk in whereby Bats beat the shit out of him. Of course that one also ends with Bats blowing himself up as a last resort....
So yeah, I'm sure Snyder and Terrio has a pretty good idea of how to have them fight eachother without it being hokey.

Great post! Crazy how people have to be told this.A movie doesn't have to be 100 percent grimdark or 100 percent bubbly. There aren't just two choices for tone. So when someone says Man of Steel was trying too hard to be dark and edgy, responses like "well I guess it's just not enough bright colors and jokes for you huh" are totally ridiculous. It's not one or the other! You can be grounded and darker when necessaryand be fun and lighten the mood when necessary, all in the same movie!
And most of the genre does this already anyway. People die in Marvel movies. People crack jokes in Nolan's Batman movies. Striking a balance between the two isn't some rarity among superhero movies (of course some do it better than others).

There was actually a theory earlier in the thread that I liked, that was the Batwing having been hacked to paint Batman as a murderous terrorist (and thus force him into conflict with Superman), and that's why you can see the Batmobile chasing it.
It could be anything, though.
It doesn't matter how strong the suit is. What matters is that Batman really shouldn't be able to land a single punch on Supes because his senses and movements just aren't nearly fast enough to react to Superman's speed.
I agree that if it comes down to a TDKR slug fest, I'll be disappointed. This could be THE moment to showcase Batman's genius and prep time against impossible physical odds. Batman approaching a fight with Superman as a physical contest is about as dumb as a black widow spider getting ready to fight a tidal wave.
What or who do you mean when saying the d?I dont follow
