First of all, we'd like to thank everybody who has contributed with the Beta Testing of the Patch 1.4 for posting your opinions on the forums.

Your opinions and reports has been very useful for us to improve the stability of the client and server for this patch. Also, we proudly present “Road to Jalalabad” sponsored by Comcast, and the new server option “Infantry Only” which will give you a new dimension for the classic Battlefield experience. The 1.4 patch will be available next Tuesday, the 15th of August.

Also, on a new effort for supporting our community, we are pleased to announce the first cycle of our MODLight where we will check the talent of the community's mod teams. As a part of this, every mod will be tested and hosted on servers arround the globe for the player's enjoyment.

More details about this patch and the MODLight program at the beginning of the incoming week!

Can't wait :D

Hopefully my brand spanking new X850XT500-8XTX will crush this puny game. And with the patch having actually been tested this time perhaps it won't add any new bugs and glitches like usual.

I highly doubt this.

Haman Discharged... she smells nice
Can I play with the GAF Squad if I don't have a headset? I never got around to getting a new one when the old one broke. Infantry-only sounds like fun. I'm sick of the vehicle whores.

Sure, although it would be more fun to play with the headset, I mean you could just get a mic it doesn't have to be a headset and those cost $3-5.

p.s nice marketing there Harv :lol

haha, looks like we'll have to wait a little longer. News from EA UK...

By the time this patch comes out, no one will care anymore. 1.3 really put me off this game with the network bugs. Really frustrating seeing that this is still one of my favorite games.

Attention Soldiers!

We just got an update from DICE and the 1.4 patch that was scheduled for today has been delayed as the team makes final reviews on the patch. The release date for this patch currently is TBD, but we will update this announcement when we get new information on the patch. Apologies for the lateness of this update. Below is a list of the new content and fixes that will be included in the 1.4 patch.

With the release of the 1.4 patch we have made significant improvements to player and server stability as well as introduced more ranked content for players to enjoy. Along with the many bug fixes we have included the new map “ Road to Jalalabad” which is sponsored by Comcast making this patch is an excellent step forward for the Battlefield Franchise. We would like to thank everyone who helped support the Beta effort. Please take a moment to review the fix list for this patch:

1.4 Patch – New content

· New level: Road to Jalalabaad (Conquest 16-32-64, Singleplayer, Co-op)
· New Server Option: No Vehicles mode

1.4 Patch – Fix List

Front End:

· Front end - Fixed server browser issues with updating info
· Front End - Multiplayer & Co-op - Players on server list can include Bots instead of human players
· Multiplayer Server filter “maps size” will now work

Game Server

· Increased server stability
· All levels - Co-op – Fixed a crash after reviving player without a kit- 1st attempt
· Server - Linux 32 Dedicated – Fixed the server crash when trying to rotate maps in Special Forces Co- op Mode (fixed on SUSE only. Still present in Red Hat and Fedora)
· Adjusted the minimum number of players to start the round. The new values for 16, 32 and 64 players are 6, 6 and 8 respectively.
· Unlocks are once available on unranked servers.
· Ranked server have to have unlocks activated.
· Fixed Issue with the local coop server - If Server Host is kicked and banned although they do not actually get kicked, no other players may join the server after that point.
· Fixed a dedicated server crash which was occurring when the user held "CTRL" and "SHIFT" while selecting a map.
· Fixed a crash which would occur when c4 was placed on a flag pole and the server rotated maps.
· Fixed a Vehicle drop crash related bug (missing icon).
· Co-Op bot console commands do not function on local servers.

Client / Gameplay:

· Commander options will no longer available whilst dead.
· Fixed the issue with a spawn point showing up as selected when a player has spawned in during preview round

You see this is what I appreciate; the game's been out for over a year and they continue to provide support and content through patches while other companies *cough* Bethesda, have to bleed the user of money for every little tiny bit of content they add.

"Is the gaf squad US based?"

More or less, although there's a few players in the UK and Japan, so the times are picked to be manageable for as many people as possible.

Never forget! I'm Dumb!
Ok, I think I'll have to get fastpath for my DSL then to make it playable. I won't be able to play for a month but I hope you guys are still going after that.

We're everywhere, Japan, Europe and US (but the server is in LA, next door to Wasabi's home)

Regarding the blue/red bug, I was initially pleased, but then I remembered I've heard this story twice before and it was still broken.

A month? A couple of us have been playing since July 05, we can wait a month to see you online ;)

I think it's awesome that we're truly a world squad, lol. I'm actually in Northern California, in the SF Bay Area, and yes, my connection is rockin'. If we get large enough, it would be nice to have a JPN/UK division and US, lol.

And I think from now on, we should be taking a picture during each match, lol.

I gotta say: I rented this game and HATED it. The single player campaign was punishingly difficult and while I'm usually pretty good at FPS, I was eaten alive in MP. I logged maybe 5 or 6 hours over the last week or so and I just can't get into it.

Okay, so this is the pathc that fixes cartillary, and allows or just people, no damn tanks, dreaded attack choppers, or lame ass jet-fighters?

If that is so, boo-ya, DL now. :D

Give it time man. It is really tough to start this game becuase #1 everyone is using better weapons untill you unlock them, and #2 it plays wierd.

For me it was a nightmare becuase I cant stand Keyboard/mouse, and it took a good month to understand it.

Keep playing, and it will "click" and then BAM! Your having fun. Untill the game crashes 2 -3times in a row for no reason. :(

The console version != the PC version. Totally different games. Unless you can rent PC games at your local place.

? Really man, I never play games with a K/M setup. I usually refuse to play a PC game unless I can use a controller somehow.

It is really new for me.(Unless its like Rome total war. FPS games are very difficult for someone who is a lifelong controller user)
