Not sure why people still trying to play this shit tbh. 22k on Steam crazy!

Is it? What was the other BFs on Steam? To know if its crazy, you need to know what it was before. You can't measure in the dark.

Luipadre Luipadre Agreed. I didn't get to play much from launch to now, but from what I've played its a pretty big difference and the fastest I've seen a BF title get fixed, patched etc.

my cake, fuck off
Haven't played in a few weeks. Got on today and boy are there a lot of bugs that weren't there before. Saw lots of rubber-banding, ghost enemies/teammates, and invisible guns. Poo poo, ka ka.

Progress for my weekly challenges just has been reset. Even such simple things will fail in this game, what a trainwreck...

Just felt like a total beast. Ran someone over with the tuk tuk(hilarious) and then drove around outside. Crashed right next to some oblivious enemy, executed him, and then proceeded to revive an ally. Round ends. So sweet

As many people played BF5 today as did 2042. That doesn't concern you?

Why would it? Steam also has the least BF players on any platform....it was never the majority. You can't measure in the dark. How could someone have some "concern" on some shit they don't even know if its a big deal or not for Steam?

So with BF not having much of a history on Steam, EA doing Origin to compete, BF Bad Company not having any PC version and then afterwards going on Steam with Bad Company 2, this is a massive yo yo of a player base not really having any solid foundation to grow on a platform to the point of PS and XB having more roots with BF then the Steam platform, thus you get this situation where it actually does worse on Steam then any other platform. How can it concern someone based on 2042's player count, if you didn't know the past player counts on the IP on that 1 platform? This is what is needed to understand this information as again...you can't measure in the dark, it makes zero sense. Lets use a bigger IP to illustrate this point even further.

So this is one of the slowest things I've seen in some time, it attempts to question "concern" while ignoring all other factors, doesn't question past titles, doesn't question other platforms, simply looks at 1 platform and demands concern lol

Less then 1% of Call Of Duty's massive install base buys it on PC... When you have a game moving 20 or 30 million units, in order to be concerned over Steam numbers, you first need to know all that other information to give you a better picture, using your logic you should be concerned about Call Of Duty or something, nothing is wrong with the IP, nothing is wrong with those Call Of Duty games, they simply have a larger base on console, not PC. To the point of them no longer even going to Steam at all. So if you told me 90% of the past BF sales have been from PC, then we can say that is some concerning shit as that 22k count is a massive drop then, but if it was always that fucking low, it means you are not looking at a massive change, you are looking at the standard base on a BF title on Steam... Its the only way I can measure this to give you an answer of why I'm not concerned regarding any of this even as someone that owns many BF on Steam and Origin.

Why does that matter? I play Quake Champions and that has like 800 daily players last time I checked. I get into matches instantly anyway and you won't have that issue any time soon with BF2042 either.

Tons of lag affecting movement and aiming today. The worst I've encountered in any battlefield game. Seemed to be isolated to Breakthrough though. This is on PS5

The last BF that sold well was BF1, 5 I think I saw barely reached 9 million and you think this trash is going to do 20-30? nothing is doing those numbers unless its CoD, GTA or some unknown who changes everything like PUBG.

I wonder if it had to do with how hard those tornadoes where to do in the game or the chaotic development, or making it on 7 platformers or some combination of all of it. I also wonder if it is due to a limitation, if we'll see those features only on next gen similar to the player count and map size difference. I also wonder if flooding will be some real time type thing using physics or some scripted thing like that zone on BF4 that had the flood. Its name escapes me.

CitizenZ CitizenZ You misread that massively, the lolz aside, the 20-30 million figure is referring to Call Of Duty, not Battlefield. Saddest part about this is I agree with what you are saying factually, I disagree with the notion that I was debating that or claiming BF 2042 would move those units or something odd like that as I agree Call Of Duty is the bigger IP, its why its used as the example and I state

Lets use a bigger IP to illustrate this

The irony of all of this is that the gif used is exactly how I felt about any post even confusing what was stated despite Call Of Duty in that very same post being cited like 6 or 7 times lol

The plan was likely to have robust post-launch support, but the game's horrid performance and reputation may lead to EA scaling back this support, and you wouldn't blame it for doing this.

Doubtful. I don't think EA has much issue with those millions sold and BFV did worse and still had years of support.

They are likely going to test out some of that stuff on next gen only to see how it will be used in the next BF title

edit. I'm not sure what BFV's launch numbers were to compare lol

Ill take the L on that one. It was a BF post and my eyes went to the second paragraph and where I instantly saw move 20-30 million units. I instantly recalled BF1 hitting 20 million, BF5 barely reaching and 10 and now we have a dumpster fire with whatever that trash is today. GG.

NP. Even with how much hate 2042 is getting, it moved like 3x the amount that BFV did in the same time frame. Not saying it will move BF1 numbers, simply that even if it was to move those numbers, Steam wouldn't be the place to measure any of this. Historically they make up the least of the BF community. So who knows how this game will do over time with updates, content etc. We've seen some wild launches on this IP and for something like BFV to even get near 10 million, tells me 2042 will do just fine in comparison.

Phunkydiabetic Phunkydiabetic so it looks like BFV did like 1.4 million first week.

So 1.4 million vs 4.2 million tells me they are very likely to keep supporting 2042 for the next few years.

Batiman Batiman Jump on Portal, play Rush with 64 players...it is most hype

"Unable to load persistence data" WTF. Anybody else have this problem on PS5?

Damn, that error is still around? It's been around since beta across all platforms. You can check out the official forums and the subreddit for possible fixes. I tried them all, eventually made it so it only happened to me one out of about every five attempts to launch a match. Good luck.

Just downloaded this for my free trial. Hopefully it’s not as bad as people make it out to be
You're lucky/smart to have waited and let them get a couple of patches out.

I played beta and then the 10 hour early access and have to say after playing today thanks to Game Stop having it at $39 it feels much better now already though still has a ways to go

thinks Halo Infinite is a new graphical benchmark
Had moments where the weapon load out screens go black and you can’t see or change attachments also in the new attachment mid game situation the function goes away.
Also is dice unsure if the game can handle destruction? That was a good selling point of bad company 2

is dice unsure if the game can handle destruction?

The destruction in this game is much more complex the last BF and much more then Bad Company 2.

Put it this way....Bad Company 2 exist within this game in Portal, the destruction of homes in the game is physics based vs scripted.

The prior games did not have some element like going 100% thru large structures with tanks.

This has nothing to do with unsure about handling destruction, by default this is the most complex in that area as all BFs had more complex destruction as time went on. This is no different. Even if you mean how much vs how complex, no BF has ever had 100% of it and limiting it in some area is based on design, not handling or something. They simply don't want the map to be level and for it to be exploited and making the game unfair. So that being a selling point of Bad Company 1 and 2 didn't mean not being the main marketing thing meant it went away, I'd argue that narrative has been stated more then proven with real evidence.

I mean, think about it like this....you are literally showing us gameplay of a house ripped to shreds and you destroying shit with C4 lol

^ The greatest examples in this video go to show that the perception of destruction becoming less or DICE not able to handle it in BF is based on marketing and not real facts. If we literally just changed 1 thing with BF1 and just called it Bad Company 3 and literally left the whole game 100% the same outside of the name change...you'd not only see people praising the destruction, you'd hear shit like "it returned" in Battlefield, nevermind that fucking shit isn't even feasible to the same degree in Bad Company 1 and 2, yet its completely disregarded by some fans in the other BF titles. Objectively....the shit is more complex, more detailed and more elements can be destroyed that don't exist in Bad Company...

Yet that is the on cited completely disregarding the advancement in the series with that concept. I think many fans are so use to it existing, they exaggerate its existence in Bad Company to maybe a extreme degree, as they tend to ignore what they are literally looking at and doing in new BF games and then saying shit like "sigh....if only it was Bad Company" ie if only you couldn't destroy the floors, couldn't drive tanks thru homes, didn't have micro destruction, couldn't have falling debris kill, don't want rubble to stay instead of disappear....... are some of you sure you want that? lol

As much as I love Bad Company, I love the destruction more.

saw it on sale for $40 on Origin and pulled the trigger. Really want to like this game so hopefully I will.

As long as you have a decent PC, since they've patched it the game is far more fun and balanced. It still needs a lot of optimisation work though. The specialists etc are actually nowhere near as bad as some would make out. It's different of course but I mean if if you don't like it there's still about 3 other BF games with an online community still.

There's almost no destruction in BF2042, no. People like to cite a few YouTube videos as examples, failing to mention that those examples are misleading: in all of the seven available maps, there are only a handful of destructible buildings collectively within all of them. The vast, vast majority of the time one will never demolish any structure, be it a wall or an entire building, nor would they have any reason to given the layout and design of the maps. The videos often cited show people destroying the same several buildings in the same map where no fighting actually takes place. It's not even situated in a point of typical ingress or egress from a capture point.

So if you're looking for real BF design and action, you have to hit up Portal.

One of the more persistent bugs in the game since launch, get used to seeing this multiple times per game session.

The only "fix" is to leave the match.

What I'm saying, 22K is a high number I'm kinda shocked that this many people are still trying to play this trash game. Are they trying to justify their purchase or something by continuing to play it?

I rejoined the same easy difficulty and the first map 3 times but it wouldn't show me load out , but it was fine in multiplayer ,
In multiplayer after a while the game goes to like 5 fps and stays there for a minute or 2. Literally making it unplayable it's a total clusterfuck on series x tbh

Hey boys.

What’s your preferred setting on console ? I just can’t find the right spot for aiming.

edit: And the graphic settings? Do you have everything on off ? I have motion blur on 0

I had to fiddle quite a bit with the stick deadzones and the aim sensitivity. There are a lot of videos on youtube explaining all the console controller settings, it might be worth checking those out to see what settings make a difference.

Aim assist for example is kinda scuffed, making your aim movement slower when you ADS at times. You might want to turn down those settings so the aiming feels more snappy.
