Pay with paypal. If you get screwed, you can dispute and get your money back!
When I say Screwed I mean "I hope EA don't remove my game/ban my account, like it happened to those people that bought Bad Company 2 from other regions" screwed.

EA did that? That's absurd. I bought BC2 from EA UK Store and Vietnam from US Store, and I live in Canada. My account is still "alive", I suppose.

Recommended specs actually look fairly spot on. Note that recommended doesn't necessarily mean "maxing out the game at more than 60fps".

Anyway, thanks for the heads-up. I'll be double-dipping so I pre-ordered for Xbox 360.

I was wondering as well and it states Windows Vista or Windows 7, not XP.
No DirectX 9 codepath.

Minimum requirement is a dx 10 card? No xp support? Wow they are leaving a lot of pc gamers out in the cold.
Someone needs to drive adoption. It's time for DX9 ans XP to go the way of the dinosaur.

I'll agree with you about DX9 and XP, but the bold is a little much at this point in time. lol
Not really. Is it even possible to buy 32-bit processors anymore? Keeping a 32-bit OS around is silly.

I think it was something more along the lines of g2play keys were either stolen or invalid. I don't really remember and I can't find the report anymore, but it was something along the lines of "I bought Bad Company 2 from G2play and played for 6 months straight without any issue. After these 6 months, my account was banned and support said I had a key from a different region". I really wish I could find that report again.

If I would just lose the key, I wouldn't mind. The thing is that if they ban your key from your EA account, you need to make a new EA account, you can't just re-purchase that content. That means all my veterancy is at stake. And that kinda sucks.

I just realized this is going to be yet another PC game that's going to be $60 at launch. I wasn't going to buy it because of the Origin-Steam deal, but this extra sucks.

Why do publishers decided to be jerks now that I build my first gaming PC? :[

If it had somewhere between $0.99 - $3.00 day one shipping like amazon, i totally would switch my order over to Newegg.

There are tons of ways to get the game without paying retail. Whether it be pre-order incentives, discounts (like this one), or CD-key shops (as posted earlier in the thread).

Whats the deal with the Karkand map pack? Free with preorder of any version of the game?
Yup. As long as you pre-order (doesn't matter what platform or edition), you get the map pack for free whenever it releases.

All right, I'll be sure keep an eye out for those then. Thanks.

Newegg as become my go to store over Amazon for games this holiday. No tax and been able to preorder many games cheaper.

but amazon gives you $20 coupons good toward future purchase on most games (dont think bf3 is one of them though) so most amazon games are essentially $40. (based on my personal experience of course)

For PC, this is still the cheapest, really. Even with the lack of "Back to Karkand", it comes up cheap. Of course, they are not sure if "Back to Karkand" is included or not, which is the reason why the preorder is so cheap. If it's not included, you can purchase that at EA store for $15, which brings up the price to $44.99. You'll also get the key the day the game releases so you don't have to wait for shipment.

EDIT: Use coupon code "cdface" for 5% off, bringing it down to $28.
Assuming Back to Karkand is $15, then that's not the cheapest, as Intkeys has the limited edition pre-order (as in including Back to Karkand) for $42.

stock costs em $10 each, all these key sites have nice profit margins.
The Russian copies usually cost about $20 on release, so it's a good profit at the $30 and up they often sell at but there are exceptions such as this limited edition or the Russian Starcraft 2 copies for instance which cost the same as full price anywhere else for unlimited Battle.net play.

I already pre-ordered the PC and 360 versions from Origin with a 25% off coupon then sent to another GAFfer who so graciously hooked me up. Triple dipped and bought the PS3 version from NewEgg. I still have the 360 and PC versions pre-ordered on Amazon if somehow they can beat $96 for both. Otherwise I'll cancel and go with Origin.

I'll echo what a lot of others have said - NewEgg is bringin' it. I have canceled several pre-orders and moved to NewEgg. I can wait 3 days to save real money...and oftentimes Amazon does not have a pre-order bonus. If it comes later, I can always order then. So it's win-win.

Any particular reason you aren't jumping on this deal, or the CD key one?
Only because I don't plan on getting Battlefield 3 because it requires the Origin client. I might get it eventually but it will have to really cheap for me to buy into EA's Origin bs. Plus, I want to wait to make sure it'll actually be good, after hearing negative things coming out of the alpha.

So in the past when newegg screwed up and shipped games early and people got the games early, was that with 1 day shipping or the free 3 day?

Have you actually tried Origin before? Shockingly enough, it works rather well. Think of it as a launcher for BF3 (handling updates/patches, etc.) and nothing more.

It's a 3 dollar gamble! Besides, every copy will be a limited edition it seems. Like the Medal of Honor thing.
Every copy in the first shipment you mean... in the US and most countries. In Russia? Who knows.

Heads up for those looking for Battlefield 3 PC at a similar price. Cheap Ass Gamer is running a promotion with Direct2Drive for 15% off any purchase.

Battlefield 3 already has a 10% pre-order discount on Direct2Drive and when you apply the 15% off, it becomes $45.86, a pretty good deal for anyone who missed the Newegg discount/doesn't want to pay $60/doesn't care about the obviously superior bonuses offered by Origin.

Battlefield 3 @ Direct2Drive

Cheap Ass Gamer
Use coupon code CHEAPASS15 to get 15% off any 1 item in your cart. Ends 9/16.

Okay, it's time for me to ask this since before there was some confusion:
I'll buy the game from anywhere, I don't care. For the PS3 version, what are the different exclusive in-game offers out there depending on the seller?
