Battlefield 4: Official "Paracel Storm" Multiplayer Trailer

Thanks for the tips, guys. I don't have time to watch the Gamespot vid yet, but I'll see if I can find a summary on Reddit or something later.
 
Looks like the bayonet is just one of the many knife variants, and doesn't actually attach to your rifle.

Lol, maximum disappointment.

Still... cool to have so many different knives.
 
Damavand is one of the better vanilla rush maps, and decent enough for conquest. Kharg does both great.

Kharg is my favorite BF3 map by a wide margin. Bummed that it was skipped in the remix.
 
It should make everyone happy... very smart design choice that is a good, fair compromise.
No, I'm not happy.

I actually liked using the suppression specialisation to further enhance suppression, I would make them inaccurate and manage to escape if they got the drop on me, and in general it is quite handy when you are pushing to an area with your squad, suppression makes people hide and engage less.

It was quite handy. Now I have to see how much the sway will affect aim before I judge whether it's better or worse, but I imagine it will be easier.
 
Maps for BF4 should be designed at their base level for Conquest 64 now that the main focus is for platforms that support it. All of the other modes can be sculpted out of those maps.

THANK YOU JEBUS. Two of the most annoying things in the game, getting shot off ladders, and losing the kill because someone sweeps in and does the last 2% of damage.

Damavand is great for rush and CAN be good as a conquest map. I think Kharg gets REALLY difficult sometimes though on rush. Attackers have a hard time usually when I play on that map, trying to push up on the shore lines. I love it for conquest though.
 
Will Wake be coming back? I absolutely love Wake Island

Looks like a negative.

It's Metro, Caspian, Oman, and Firestorm.

Fortunately, BF4 maps all look pretty awesome so far. Tempers the pain a bit.
 
It will be veeeery interesting to see how they balance this--from the few screens I saw, it looks like there are actual differences between similar attachments. Even the different suppressors seem to have different pros and cons.

I can't believe metro won over Wake....

there was an user poll and metro won. blame the fans...
 
Now maybe they bring the IFV to the first part of metro, like in the original BF3 trailer.

And it seems there will not be capture the flags. Sad.

And none of the expansion names suggest some close quarters dedicated expansion. That sounds good.

And now, just wait to know how many maps the vanilla game would have.
 
Not quite--I think the server can pick the factions, but you can only have two at a time?

I guess.

DICE has confirmed the presence of dynamic factions in Battlefield 4 meaning the game's servers can select any faction for any side of any map.

During the Siege of Shanghai, for instance, the sides can be; Russia vs. China, United States vs. China, and Russia vs. United States.


Not only will factions be selectable but the sides will be as well so the server can choose each faction's deployment for a particular side of the map

Did you play it with 64 players? BF3 console and PC players hated different maps for either being too big/open or too small/chokepointy. The map selection for both ended up being a frankenstein mix because they tried to appease everyone.

It would be nice if they reworked Metro to be viable for Conquest, like opening up the ground above the metro.

There we go. Kharg is kinda meh as one of the 64 player maps anyways.

I have the 360 version of BF3 as well as PC, and nearly any time I play with my friends, they want to play on the maps I dislike, and they tell me that the maps I like feel too empty.

Kharg, Caspian, Firestorm, etc... is all a no-go, while they favor Metro, Bazaar, and the more close/urban maps.

It's going to be interesting to see how they react to 64 players being the focus on all but the old platforms.
 
Finally catching up with all of the BF4 news, god damnit DICE, you've done it again.

This might be the only next gen game I have to buy for the foreseeable future.
 
I tweeted them too, per your suggestion above. They gave me a similar response "thank you, we will pass the suggestion along to the team".

I mean, they'd have to add a 3rd uncap/deployment to each map in Conquest mode, and dial back vehicles just a tad so there's not toooooooooo much iron/air at all times.

But I think this mode could be a lot of fun.
 
Just realised something... what's gonna happen with Wake Island in this game? I mean it's appeared in every single mainline BF game so far (well except for Vietnam, but that explains itself), yet it isn't in the old map DLC.

So it's either they pull a Bad Company and don't include it at all, which I wouldn't mind to be honest, or they'll include it in a future DLC pack where the expectation is that we'd be seeing all new maps after Second Assault hits. So who really knows what DICE is planning with DLC maps this time around.
