It never received an enhancement patch which is a great shame because the image quality in particular is awful on Xbox One (they significantly improved image quality in BF1 & BFV). They both ran at an unlocked frame rate, so the Xbox SX & PS5 should play it at a locked 60fps. That's all the improvement we will get I would say.

I am truly shocked that we have not heard of any enhancements, or subject matter for this title. I understand we have had titles since this game but am surprised at the lack of conversation.

I thought we were getting an enhanced remaster of Battlefield 4 for the nextgen consoles.....latest build of Frostbite with new environmental effects, RT GI and new model updates with all the maps in rotation and a return to rentable servers.
All on Gamepass Day and Date ready for launch.

Now im sad....the next BF probably isnt going to live up to they hype that was BF3/4

I turned on Boost mode in settings for Pro and definitely felt smoother.

Not rock solid 60 fps, but close.

Even a super sampling mode in Pro's settings! What! Don't remember that and so turned that on. Don't think that works though as probably native 1080p game.

Nice that a lot of people are still playing this.

Have a feeling that PS5 Boost mode might even be better. Should be 60 fps solid!

I remember playing PS3 version. PS4 was a huge step up.

This game is 720p on the xbox one. It looks absolutely terrible on modern 50 inch plus tvs.

Which is a shame, because the game itself was amazing at the time. Certainly better than BF1.

There was a BF game in between 4 & 1 called Hardline. At least be happy BF4 is not as forgotten as that. Hardline didn't even get the UI patch on PC whilst BF4 did despite being 2 years older

Reading this thread, I can only summise there aren't many hardcore BF fans here. BF1 / BF5? Many of the hardcore BF fans are still on BF4. I'm not even into BF but I know this. All my hardcore BF friends still play BF4 religiously.

The one BF campaign this gen I haven't conpleted, just because it keeps crashing on PS4 and erasing my campaign save.

I feel for you, it doesn't even need to crash for it to erase, it can reset your progress from you manually closing the game and booting it.

Edit: fwiw, the campaign just gets worse the further you progress, it's straight up trash.

Best battlefield by far. No other shooter is as visceral and "real".

Had some great time with BF4. I used to annoy the hell out of everyone with the mobile AA, that vehicle was overpowered as hell. The enemy pilots always resorted to the kamikaze method in the end in a desperate move. Didn't work.

BF4 is probably the best BF campaign this gen. This game had a similar fate to AC Unity: Lots of bugs on release, crashes, bad performance bad reviews.
Game is great in its current state though. And with some next gen improvements it would be awesome.

Possibly the best Battlefield title yet to be topped. DICE will no way reach that peak seeing as the game pushed the original team to the limits with a launch across 5 systems. So much so that those folks ended up leaving DICE.

No way is EA going to let them make a game that good with that much content without a catch.

BF4 is among my favorites (BC2 still top dog overall), and I still play it occasionally.

As already mentioned, a BF3/4 combo remake would be great.
