Bay-helmed Transformers 4 will be a semi-reboot

Pain & Gain confirmed to be $25 million budget and The Rock, Wahlberg and rest of cast are doing it on the cheap for back-end deals.

Miami shoot begins in April.

For some reason, this topic strikes me as a confirmation that Shia LeBeouf will not be in this one, since he seemed adamant about being done with the series

It is a reboot but is not a reboot ... and has not the same cast ... but i may have some of the cast
and is directed by michael bay

So explosions, not exactly a reboot and some of the cast.

OMFG THE GI JOE VS TRANSFORMERS MOVIE !!!

A reboot, really? Then what's the point of bringing back Micheal Bay? Anyway hopefully the movie put more emphasis on the robots instead of the humans. Heck just make the main character Optimus Prime and I'll be happy.

So much for the third being the last. Not even a bit interested, and the sure to be awesome and epic trailer WILL NOT fool me this time. First was good, 2nd was an abomination, 3rd was better than 2 but still shitty as hell. Not to mention all three are about 45 longer than they should be.

A lot of misinterpretation going on in this thread. Reboot is NOT the right word for this. It's set in the same continuity, but with a new cast and telling a new story. Think Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides compared to the previous three Pirates movies... although in this case, we don't know if any old cast members will return or not.

Optimus Prime and Bumblebee are returning, no clue on the others. So not a reboot, just a different story in the same continuity with a new cast (no word on any returning cast yet).

No matter how bad this is probably going be, I'm hyped, more transformers is always gud!

Really sick of reboots, especially reboots of movies that are only a decade or slightly older. Same goes for games.

I mean, do we need a reboot of Spider-man, Devil May Cry, Transformers and all this other nonsense?

I enjoy these movies, and I love the Transformers property.

But I'm tired of this. One of the things that has kept me interested in Transformers lore has been the ever transforming landscape of what it meant to be Transformers, but these movies are all so similar, and almost emotionally exhausting to watch.

No, that is who Bay is catching up to, so no he is not beyond Paul Anderson (or these likes you allege).
This opinion is simply dreadful and you are a horrible person for having expressed it.

I mean, on one hand you have Michael Bay who has been praised as making the best use of 3D since Avatar, and then on the other hand you have Paul W.S. Anderson, who directed a 3D movie with literally every crappy cinematographic gimmick in the book.

Or maybe you're referring to Paul Thomas Anderson... Lol.

My big problem is they are really the same movie.

Even if you overlook the shitty humans the force on us or even the increased Aitobot aggression and ma plot hes the actual base story line hasn't changed.

Three movies in a row they have Prime needing something that can save their race/home only to either do nothing with it or even destroy it.

As it stands the movie wouldn't even make sense because they retardy destroyed Cybertron and left Prime with the matrix. Also they killed off every single popular con, thy can't just randomly revive Starscream, Megatron a d Soundwave in one go for no reason. Bit would completely destroy what little bullshit plot they had with he All Spark and Matrix.

Regardless idk if I could for e myself to watch another clusterfuck with Prime going executioner or Megatron throwing away his plans always because a shitty actress calls him a bitch.

Dear Warner Bros,

Please do us all a favour and make an epic ROBOTECH film that could spawn a potential 'giant robot' franchise of actual quality and put an end to the miserable, creatively redundant, vapid excuses for films that are Bay's Transformer films.

Thanks.

Yours, the film going public who evidently don't know what they want.

New Shia please.

He trolling.

They need to also get someone other than bay. Bay has literally run this franchise into the ground

To be fair this wasn't exactly Shakespeare to begin with. It's about cars and trucks that turn into giant humanoid robots.

While I'm not a fan of any of the films it's not as if they were from some critically revered book or whatever.

And considering that the last film is, what, the fourth highest grossing film of all time I'd say that most people would notch that up as a win regardless of the quality of the films.
