Been out of the Sony loop...Holy Crap, PS+ Offers all this?!?!?

Do the full games stay unlocked forever? Is Sleeping Dogs still on there?

if you've "bought" the game when it was free you will always have it. As a subscriber you can play it. You can delete, redownload, etc. (its in your download history as a bought game)

If you cancel, then you can't play it. But if later you renew your subscription again, you can go back to playing it.

Once a PS+ is outside the free window and you didn't acquire it then you can't go back and get it for free

Edit: If you are PS+ but don't own a vita still "buy" the vita games so they're tied to your account. Then later if you buy the console you have a large batch of free games you've been building up

That sounds excellent. I'm getting a vita when it get's a price cut most likely.

I started using PS+ when they gave the month free for the network outage and I was pissed I missed out on all the freebies prior to that. I can't imagine just finding out about it now and looking back at everything I would have missed out on.

Does anyone have a list? It's gotta be up to around 100 games by now I'm sure.

If you have a PS3 and a Vita it gets even more value. When the PS4 is out I can't imagine they are going to support all 3 devices, if they do it's going to be an unreal value.

AND IF YOU ORDER IN THE NEXT TEN MINUTES, YOU'LL GET THREE EXTRA MONTHS FREE OF CHARGE!

ORDER NOW!

I wish I could share my PSN account without sharing my password. I have all the games for vita in my DL list, but no Vita LOL.

Damnit Nintendo why don't YOU give me free games too? Oh right you'd need a working accounts system first. Does the WiiU have one? IDK.

I wonder if a service port begging counts as port begging. But yeah... if Nintendo first party came out and had a unified service across all their platforms that gave you a couple free games every month... dat backlog of quality Nintendo games, yo.

Anyway, I logged onto the SOE website and added Ico/SoTC, Demon Souls, and Rayman Origins to my account in case I forgot. So good.

But wait! You'll also receive.

Yeah I guess my OP seemed a bit commercialish upon reflection. But whatever, I think it's a value that I have yet to take advantage of.

I have more games for my Vita right now than I do for my Wii and 360 combined.

(I don't buy a lot of games typically.)

I have a question. I only have the ps3 but can I download vita games or put them in my queue to "claim" them that way when I do get a vita down the road I'll have access to get them?

also how does ps+ work on vita? What if I'm not online like on the bus or car and have the WiFi version?

Well if it interests you enough in getting a PS3, make a Plus account asap and grab all available games right now so that by July you'll have 6+ PS3 games in your PS3's HDD.

Make that 9 if you manage to make an additional EU or US account.

Man, I wasn Ico/SOC so bad. I had no idea EU's stuff was gonna be so much better.

Yes you can add Vita games to your collection. You don;t even have to download them, just take them through the checkout process.

They'll all be there waiting for you when the time comes.

As for PS+ on the Vita, You don't have to be online to play the games, only to download them. All PS+ games are marked with a trigger date which is whenever your sub is due to run out. Once you download the game you can play it offline until that date. If you buy more sub time then the date changes.

For me at this stage it really is a question of why anyone with a PlayStation 3 or a Vita DOESN'T have a PS+ subscription.

I thought Plus was a joke mostly, but I got on board when Spec Ops showed up. Because of that I got to play Closure, got the discount for Guacamelee and The Missing Link, and got a bunch of Vita games to play like Uncharted. Its a pretty good service, cant wait to play Saints Row and Xcom. That $50 bucks has paid for itself by now.

Not gonna lie, I don't play my PS3 very much and have been more 'maining' 360 all gen as far as HD goes.... but everyime I look at the PS+ deals I get a little jelly thinking I pay too and get shit all from MS. :|

Yeah, I've been a plus subscriber for a while now, and I'm really impressed by how much the service has evolved since it began.

Sony has really crafted a service that caters to gamers that don't just rush out and buy games the moment they release.

I think that's how they manage to make money on the service. With a few exceptions, most of the instant game collection titles have been out for at least 6 months or more, and have likely plateaued as far as maximum sales potential, so inking deals with third parties is probably a lot easier and lucrative for both.

PS+ is about as close as console gaming is to having a Steam like service as far as really impressive discounts.

I can see PS4's version of plus maybe including things like some premium Gaikai stuff, at least for starters, on top of a free game once the console has been out for a bit. Plus didn't start off fuck awesome. It grew to it.

Between my PS3 and Vita, Plus is the best $50 a year I spend, and soon, PS4 will be added to that value.

I picked a great time to subscribe to PS+

Snagged all of the old year-long downloads just before they went out, and now they've loaded up June with three additional games. Friggin' best $18 I've ever spent on gaming.

I don't have PS+, I can't even play the games I have already. Getting more games all the time will just make me hate games... even more? I don't play my games much :( I'm a bad game owner, neglect.

Should be the first thing any new PS3 owner gets. If they're using it to ease us into paying for PSN on PS4, mission accomplished, I'll do it if they offer half the perks that PS+ has.

I can't imagine Sony will continue to give away as many good games as often as they have, ongoing indefinitely. It doesn't seem logical to me.

It isn't. It's effectively a charity project, unlike Xbox Live. That's what makes it great! For us, anyway

Free games! That you must pay $50 for. Joking aside, it's a good value.

1GB just for game saves? Fairly certain that's a fairly substantial size.

Yeah, now that I think about it saves are usually pretty small, so its not horrible. I was just thinking in terms of something like google drive or something that gives you more storage.

I get the feeling that this is going to happen to me with all these games. I played Sleeping Dogs for a while, then moved on to Vanquish and half beat that, then I started Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and I'm hooked there. I've also got 6 or so free PSN titles I've never heard of, so who knows when those will get the time of day.

Only PS+ game Ive finished so far was Bioshock 2 but the value is extraordinary. It's funny because it started out pretty mediocre just offering a freebie PS1 game every month.

Hate to say this, but it's true: PS+ is the reason I won't be getting a PS4 at launch...

huh?

$50 on Steam during a Summer or Holiday sale can get you a good chunk of games as well. Add Humble Bundles with Steam sales and PS+ doesn't even come close. I have deep respect for Sony's competition with Xbox Live, though. If PS+ continues to offer free games on the PS4 and XBL on the XB1 does not, it's yet another thing Microsoft seems to be doing wrong lately.

Would you pay $50 a year for a library of Steam+ games? I'd probably stick with Steam sales but without knowing the games they would include it's hard to say.
