Now that you're here, we can turn it into a 'ask a hipster' thread!

I'm still waiting for a "set a hipster on fire" thread. When will you answer my needs gaf!? WHEN!????!!

I saw a guy at McDonalds today wearing a torn up t-shit, a neon green tie, skinny jeans and boots....
That's not a hipster.

I don't get the hipster hate. Sure pretentious people that say everything it ironic are annoying but that isn't a trait exclusive to hipsters. Maybe I don't get it because I live on the west coast of Canada.

eh i dont get hipster fashions, seems just wearing random ass non matching stuff = hipster to me, oh and pretending to wear glasses or something too

Well synths are great, I should start playing them.

I'm considering moving to East London to study there for some months too, but after seeing this video I might want to rethink that xD

I can't wait until 80's fashion becomes retro-actively cool again so I can laugh at people in members only jackets, bad perms and leg warmers. It will happen.

I see hipsters like I see myself as a teenager. A young teen with entirely too much time on their hands with expendable income trying to "rebel" against society's norms. Trust me, in ten years they will look back at themselves and think what the fuck was I thinking/wearing?

Except they don't stop doing that when they get out of there teens. From living in Park Slope, I can assure you that these guys missed the grow up and laugh about later in life bus a long time ago judging by how "old" some of them are. :lol

how old is the hipster average? I emulated the whole backstreet boy look in high school and laugh now. I'm 28 && 3/4s, don't tell me there are 28+ year old hipsters too... They better turn in their sweaters vests...

fwiw: it was like 2001 when I saw 11 year olds with frosted hair that I knew... "it was time...."

Was at the Whole Foods in Cambridge Mass last week, a town with one of the highest hipsters per sq. mile rate in the world. There was a dude there, mid-20s, golf pants and giant handlebar mustache, holding court the bakery section, presumably talking to random passers by about his golf pants and turn of the century mustachio. As soon as I was done laughing, I thought of you, my hipster hating GAF pals.

op vid and the hipster olympics one are both hilarious :lol

it's not too bad over here in regards to hipsters, but I do seem to see a lot of "old" ones, which is always sad

i wear skinny jeans....i like the way they feel....
I own one pair but I put them in the dryer and now they are skin tight so I don't wear them. I wear pants that fit me, no loose stuff, but not tight either.

Always hang dry them.

It's my mission to trick a Shorditch DJ into playing this at a club night. :lol

I work in Hoxton, I see these people everyday.

EDIT: I think i've found my new ringtone, just need an instrumental version, it's very catchy!

cool, cause I've been wanting to get one of those bikes :) Would be nice to have the ability to carry a passenger tho.

I'll warn you - they look awesome but they have a rep of being reealllly uncomfortable. The Triumph Bonneville is in the same class and might be a better all rounder, but I guess if you're a Harleys, you're into Harleys.

I don't get how people can grow up and turn into a hipster, chess board gutties are not cool people
