Latino review is saying they are going to film
Joker killing Jason Todd and that's why Ben Affleck is there, this scene will be in BvS in the form of a flashback
and that
Batman will be SS, because the batmobile is in the set

I'm guessing they were waiting to cast Joker to film that scene.

That's...

huh. Considering previous set photos,

we sure it's Jason Todd getting killed?

I'm so confused right now. Affleck is Batman in BvS right? If so, then does Suicide Squad tie into BvS then?

Yeah, Suicide Squad happens in the same continuity as Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman

Here's Ben arriving before dressing up. License plate is in fact BMAV, not BMAN :P

Ben Affleck looking like "I'm fed up of this shit, WB better make it up to me soon."

God, I was really hoping this wasn't gonna be a Batman film. I like the concept of a group of villains doing their own thing. That's kinda killed some hype I had for it.

it's not a batman film, or would you call winter soldier a black widow film just because she was in it?

He better get used to it, Lord only knows how many movies he has signed on for.

Batman/Superman, Suicide Squad, Justice League 1 & 2, the eventual solo Bat flick, cameos in everyone else's movies, etc etc.

I think Batman will be pretty in the background. The Suicide Squad will be the focus, but since the Joker is involved, maybe we'll get flashbacks or some short cameos of Batman.

lol. he's directing a new film pretty soon, i imagine they'll keep cutting him blank checks after argo fuckyourself winning best picture and this dc participation

it's obvious batman aint gonna be the star of this film. probably just a small appearance. i'm hoping he gets his own film though rather than just all these smaller roles in other films, if him and joker are as entertaining as I expect then we need it more than some wack cyborg film

Here's what I'm betting:

We're going to see lots of little flashbacks as to what landed the characters in prison. The Joker flashback will involve Batman catching him and putting his fuckin' teeth out.

I hope Batfleck is only in the last big setpiece, where it's all the Suicide Squad against him.

And Batfleck wrecks them all lol

Having both Joker and Batman in this movie and the possibility of them having had tons of history togther is prettty exciting for me. I love that the DCCU is already pretty much fully formed as opposed to building from an empty universe. Props to DC/WB for trying something different from Marvel.

No doubt this is the only reason he agreed to be Batman. What an interesting career path this guy has, so strange.

I do wonder how many movies he signed up for.

Yeah! That'd be awesome.

Fuck yeah. But why would the Suicide Squad be out for Batman?

I could see this having a decent amount of Batman in it just to flesh out the DCCU version of him out a bit more.

This movie will no doubt have its own thing going on, but it's definitely gonna do a lot of world building.

Coming off of BvS, this movie is another opportunity to give audiences another solid glimpse at new Batman.

Also, for all of those that are unsure of where this takes place in the time line, it's been reported that it takes places after MoS, but before BvS.

HYPE.

In conclusion, Batman will have a substantial role if I had to guess.

lol Not seeing Bruce Wayne in Affleck at all. Didn't realize he had such a following on GAF. I personally think he's a terrible actor (even though he was serviceable in Argo), but we'll have to wait and see. The trailer doesn't do anything to inspire me.

No idea, but they could make it work.

Bale was terrible as Bruce/Bats, his movies were awesome (except tdkr) but he he was terrible, Affleck will probably be much better.

Keaton's Bruce Wayne was an oddball. I don't know if it's because of Burton's direction or everyone was just unsure of how to portray him for the first time, but Keaton's Bruce was like an aloof alien -- not pretending to be normal like he was putting on an act, like Bale's, but like he just never had any idea how to act around people.

Scene - ARGUS command center. Task Force X has disabled their explosive implants, and are escaping, meanwhile arkham is in full riot. Batman slips into the room and creeps up on Amanda Waller starrng at a wall scenes from CCTV feeds.

Batman "Looks like it's getting out of hand. Need help?"

Waller "Fuck off Bruce"

Relax. I doubt he plays a large role compared to the squad considering the cast. Especially with Will Smith in the movie, it's probably going to to be focused on Deadshot if anyone.

I'm sure there is going to be a scene with Batman confronting Waller though. That has to happen.

Pretty sure he'll have agreed funding for his own projects following on from this. I still prefer Afleck the director to Alfeck the actor but I've gotta say he's perfect casting for Bruce Wayne at this age point.

Not a fan of Snyder or MoS but he chose his Batman well I'll give him that.

Yeah, of course that would be the only reason someone would play the most famous and popular superhero (citation needed) of all time.

Oh wait.

"On the latest episode of Kevin Smith's Hollywood Babble-On podcast, the director/actor/comic book nerd commented on his friend Ben Affleck being cast as Batman. “This dude has loved Batman going as far back as I can remember. He only did Daredevil because he loved Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns,” Smith explained."

I'm sure there are plenty of actors who would give their left nut to get to be Batman.

Yes.
This is heavily influenced by Batman Assault on Arkham. You'll see Batman.

Ah, this is new to me. I happened to watch Assault on Arkham just a few weeks ago, didn't know they'd base this film on that. It was a good watch, not as good as TDKR part 1/2 and Under the Red Hood in my opinion, but a good watch.

I can see Batman popping up for a bit.

Give these characters some history and set up that this new movie Batman has actually already done some shit. Maybe do some flashbacks of Batman kicking their asses.

Do we know if in Batman v Superman if they are doing the whole "Batman retired for a few years but now something went down to drag him back" angle from Dark Knight Returns?

If so maybe Batman is still retired here but we get a appearance from Bruce.

Affleck has the body, size, and face to pull off Bruce better than anyone before him. I'm not sure why people get upset over his looks.

His acting is something you can criticize even if playing Bruce is not the most difficult task. There was the potential for Affleck to phone it in like Clooney with Snyder and Goyer not getting the best out of him.

Those concerns seem to be less likely considering he got Goyer out and brought in Terrio. He seems to have much more input than simply being an actor and he does some of his best work when he has input.

Affleck's Bruce/Batman in all likelihood is going to be the least of the problems with these movies. In terms of "the look" Affleck probably has the best balance of being able to look like both a billionaire playboy and someone with a dark side

I've only actually seen Affleck in Daredevil, Argo, and Gone Girl. He didn't really leave a negative impression in any of those movies (although Daredevil was just weak overall). I can definitely see him pull of a convincing playboy from his performance in Gone Girl. I'm just wondering how much menace and darkness he can bring as Batman both in and out of costume.
