But you already finished your own thread, OP.

Shuki Levy: The Thread

Just look at this guy's work history. Calling him a legend doesn't even come close.

the shine kinda dulls when u learn that

In an 1998 investigation by The Hollywood Reporter, it was revealed that many of these compositions were ghostwritten by other composers, in order for Levy and Haim Saban to gain control of all publishing rights and music royalty revenue

YESSSS! discovered this show last year, holy god, it's amazing.

that metal as hell theme song.... the insane Lovecraftian horrors stirred up from the Earth's core.... the hilariously 80s machismo surrounding everything... so perfect.... i highly recommend watching the full run of 13 episodes.

also from the same writer/producers (Flint Dille, also responsible for G.I. Joe and Transformers cartoons) is Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light:

The fuck are those cartoons in the OP and is that Pole Position the video game with a cartoon?

Mines are probably Doug, Jem, and Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers.

On a related note, everyone in here should check out Scott Bradlee's Saturday Morning Slow Jams album. I ran into the Powerpuff Girls cover and that shit blew me away and I immediately bought the album.

The Raccoons had lots of great music actually. One of their specials was nothing but music and that's before the TV show started.

My picks are some long forgotten gems:

Kidd Video That fairy that follows them around in the show is as 80's as you can possibly get.

Galaxy High

Yeah there's alot of misplaced nostalgia for cartoons of this period, but I'll go out on a limb and say the theme songs were definitely better.

Here's the full interview which I've never seen before:

Shit is incredibly disappointing to find out. The man used to be my idol. And to be fair, it looks like he did work on some classics like Heathcliff, Inspector Gadget, He-Man, M.A.S.K. and a bunch of other stuff from the 80s, but stopped by the time Power Rangers/X-Men came around.

It actually makes sense because you can tell there's a clear difference between the style of music he's credited with in the 80s and the music he's credited with after. Inspector Gadget, Maya the Bee, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, Power Rangers, Dragonball Z, X-Men, Teknoman, Action Man, Escaflowne, Spiderman, etc. They're all over the place. Very few composers have that kind of range.
