Any other 10,000 Maniacs fans out there? I can't say Our Time In Eden is the best album of the 90's, but I can damn sure say it's one of my favorites.

OK Computer REALLY is one of my favorite albums of all time, just edging out Siamese Dream.

I may have missed it, but I'm going to go with something most people may be forgetting... if you're not forgetting, I recommend a re-listen with headphones.

This.

I'm not going to say any album is objectively perfect or "the best" of its decade, but OKC was so groundbreaking, so complex, so perfectly crafted, I'm still in awe of it and it continues to grow on me years after I'd normally get sick of most albums. Definitely gets my vote.

Yeah, it's probably true (this or Soft Bulletin), but my love for Pinkerton blinds me. At least, it's my favorite of the decade.

I am not sure if I could call it the best album of the 90's, but it definitely left a serious mark. I don't think I've ever listened to any other CD as much as Garbage's Version 2.0.

Also, this thread shows how fucking good were the 90's. The 2000's have been so horrifyingly dull so far.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck I wanted to post this one, It's my favorite 90-ies album after Achtung Baby.

Guess I'll go with this one then:

And a big shout out to GZA for making my favorite hip-hop album Liquid Swords.

The Downward Spiral by NIN

The album still sounds like it was created today. It has some of the best production and layering of any album I've ever heard. Feels like I'm getting the shit kicked out of me every time I listen to it.

If I were to pick a Pulp album, I'd probably pick

Over Different Class

does anyone really like more than a handful of songs from mellon collie?
The album really only works if listened to in its 2 hour run imo. Its massive, but the way it weaves between the emotional spectrum is what makes the album what it is, and the ending is pitch perfect. It's an extremely cathartic experience.

I'll be "that" guy and say this:

Ænima - Tool

You're not 'that' guy at all.

This is the greatest album of all time. I'm a musician and I cant even fathom how such an album can be made. I've listened to this album at least two hundred times and I still find things to marvel about. Its so beyond anything ever created that it feels like it was created by aliens or Gods or something.

Not to mention that I once tripped on acid and listened to this CD with headphones on in a pitch-black room and it literally changed my life. Sounds very dramatic, but I assure you that this is not an overstatement. Its a monument of human ability as much as building the pyramids were five thousand years ago. I dont say that lightly, either. I mean it.

There's way to many great albums to list a best one, so I'm going to post my favorite,

OutOfTimeCover.jpg

I'm a huge R.E.M. fan and Out of Time is the reason why. My dad bought it on a whim and I wore that cassette tape out listening to it.

I know it gets a lot of hate but really outside of "Shiny happy people" this is probably my fave REM album.

Oh and how could I have forgotten this gem?
