Best - MLB. Love going to the ballpark and taking in a game. NHL is my second as the HD era enhanced this game more than any other.

Worst - NFL. Love the sport, but it's born and bred for television audience.

Pole dancing is the best.

So many hockey answers, I love it! And because not many people seem to realize this exists, NHL-GAF is this way! We're very accepting of new fans, contrary to popular belief.

Also Beaulieu, as someone that grew up in Central Europe and then moved to Canada, I agree that soccer live is a TON of fun, especially for those important matches. But in terms of the "sport" being great to watch live, hockey still wins. If we count atmosphere in stadiums, then I agree that soccer comes close. All depends on the game/arena/teams involved.
Even for a Kings fan? Last time I posted in there it wasn't friendly at all. I stick to HF Boards.

What's some of the ones you've been a part of? What's the greatest? What looks like it would be fun but was a colossal letdown?

Best:

XFL
Baseball
Wrestling

Worst:

E-sports
Fencing
Wrestling

I hate watching all sports for
some reason I like to play sport but watching is really boring to me. Except football During superbowl when im betting on a team

Baseball and football have been my only live sports events that I can really remember. I very much enjoy both, even when my teams are bad (which is usually). I guess a lot of it depends on how invested you are in the game.

Never seen a live hockey game, but I've gotten into the Hurricanes in the last year. Would love to head up to Raleigh to see a game sometime this season.

The only time I've ever been to a sporting event and genuinely enjoyed it was about five years ago when I went to a University of Minnesota (Minneapolis) football game with my sister - who was a student there at the time.

Seriously, college football + sitting in the student section = really exciting. I was shocked at how much I enjoyed it.

I'm from the south and I went to my first hockey game a few years ago and it really is as fun as they're saying (and I don't just mean the fights or anything, wish they'd cut that out myself). Go check it out.

If you survive HFBoards, you'll survive us. :P We don't really go past friendly banter and dismissal of rivalry teams. Just be prepared to have the Kings be called the Queens. If you survive the initial scrutiny, you'll realize most of us are decent people.

Plus, we have After Hours (TM) and the best mod on GAF.

I went to Wrestlemania when it came to my state. I'm not into wrestling but my dad had an extra ticket, so I went anyways.

I was in the back, and couldn't see anything. Everyone kept standing up blocking my view, the family in front of us told us to take a pic of them (my first time experiencing someone telling me to do this). I had to watch the TV the whole time to see the match, but hearing the impacts when they hit the mats was great. Probably not the best experience, but it was decent.

The Wrestlemania I saw was the one where Vince got his hair shaved.

EDIT: Just remembered that I went to a baseball game for a field trip one time. It rained on me, and it was cold as heck. Also, I was bored.

Best: Wrestling
Worst: Baseball

I went to the World Cup qualifier against Jamaica in Columbus this year. That was possibly the best sporting event I've ever been to. NHL playoffs games are up there too though.

Worst I'd say is golf. Have gone to the Memorial a few times and it's just boring and kinda pointless. Watch this guy swing and oh I can't see the ball at all. How fun. Or, lets watch this guy drop a putt!

Yeah, that sounds welcoming. lol

The people of NHL GAF are cool. Definitely more normal than other GAF sports communities with dumb ass sayings and memes (not that NHL GAF doesn't have those either) I guess it sounds worse than it is. But I don't blame you if you don't want to put up with the bullshit.

For action, hockey. Nearly constant action.
For a laid back time, I love baseball games. It's just relaxing. Get several over-priced beers, a hot dog, and a bag of peanuts. A good way to spend 3 hours.

Football in England is a great atmosphere because you can feel the passion. It is also the most fun sport to watch so that helps too. The random chanting is amazing.

I love baseball and the atmosphere i have been to in Oakland was amazing. I have sat in all different dirextions and the fans were great. Yankee stadium has always been great and final weekend at Shea was a big buzz. I have watched one game in San Fran and that was really good, because it saw the return of Bonds after a long injury.

Baseball in Korea is something else, you can bring in your on food and deink so I like that. But as with Korean football the atmosphere is so fake. Koreans can not do anything if they are organised.

I have been to one untaped wwe event and really enjoyed it.

Also saw a boxing world heavyweight championship bout and that was really good in Manchester.

I have been to two NFL games and they blow hard. The atmosphere is just terrible. Cheer for five seconds and then nothing for 40seconds.

Best: American college football. We have 50 yard line season tickets to Oregon games and it's incredibly awesome.

Worst: hmmm... Maybe baseball. Went to a Giants game last year and it was fun for the atmosphere but the actual game is better on TV imo.

New Zealander here. NFL games would be absolutely dreary to watch live. Shit, they're boring enough to watch on TV anyway. At least while watching it on TV you could do something else while the ads are on.

But live, you'd be trapped in a box with 40,000ish other people, watching absolutely nothing happening a lot of the time.

Give me a football or a rugby game any day of the week.

Soccer and college sports aren't really much of a thing here (MA/U.S./Earth) outside of maybe the hockey and that shit where they row the boats(?), so based on personal experience I'm going:

NHL
NBA
MLB
NFL
Marathon (no jokes, just where it ranks)
For OP:
Big-ass wrestling show
Small-ass wrestling show
Television taping-ass wrestling show. BOOOOOOOM! It's KANE!

It's the Sharks & Ducks fans circlejerk that causes all the animosity towards the Kings.
I remember the snowballing Ducks fans the most. It was always hostile which got tiring. Sometimes I want to talk about the sport instead of having to chirp every.single.post. While there is plenty of scum on HFBoards, there are a lot of amazing and informative posters too. Glad to see others can get good use out of it though. :)

Snooker would be boring as shit.

Darts would be fun as hell since you can just get black out drunk and hit on all the single moms

There really isn't any amazing posters on HFBoards... well... unless someone from NHL-GAF bothers to offer enlightenment.

Plus its the most over moderated shitshow on the planet

Wrong. It's one of the best.

In no other major sporting event can you get as close to the stars as you can with golf. It allows the fans access that other sports fans can only wish for.

But for watching the actual game of golf it sucks. For the most part you can see one portion of one hole out of 18 at any given moment. It's like watching a marathon.

Baseball is my favorite, love the atmosphere and love the game. Seeing some great defensive plays, clutch base hits, steals, home runs or being on the edge of your seat watching a Pitcher try to close out an inning is amazing. Always have more fun people watching at Baseball games, and chatting with people near me is better as well, just laid back and fun.

Except no one gives a fuck about 45 year old golf players.

I love love love going to baseball games. Being outside at the park with a beer and some peanuts is the best.

Personally I don't like going to football games. It's freezing cold and the fans are really obnoxious.
