Best Blu Ray transfers?

OK so we've been discussing bad Blu Ray transfers for a few days let's talk about the other end of the spectrum, the best Blu Ray transfers. The following I would consider to be excellent.

Alien
Blade Runner The Final Cut
Star Trek The Next Generation

Post your favourite examples, GAF.

I'm gonna go for a non-obvious one here:

Tremors.

I could not believe how good it looked.

The Descent looked incredible as well. Them black levels.

Lawrence of Arabia looks amazing. It's also one of the greatest films of all-time in case you somehow never saw it. :-)

Ben-Hur looks absolutely amazing.

This is a film from 1959.

Other great transfers off the top of my head: Titanic. Band of Brothers, The Thin Red Line, Game of Thrones, Pulp Fiction

How The West Was Won (1962) has a tremendous Bly-ray transfer. It's shot on massive Cinerama cameras and is splicing three projected images into one and I can barely see the seams.

Should be seen on a big, big screen. One of the last epic movies that I enjoyed :)

(EDIT) Wow, good choices here! I'd also recommend the first two Alien movies. The first one is clean, has awesome blacks and the second one seems to keep the original film grain (I guess they were using a cheaper type of film with higher ASA/ISO so it's true to it's original release).

Noticed Alien and Blade Runner already mentioned.
Going with Game of Thrones. Watching the show through stream is awesome.
Seeing it from BR is God Tier.

Lawrence of Arabia looks amazing. It's also one of the greatest films of all-time in case you somehow never saw it. :-)

Can not second this enough - owning near 200 blurays, this is definitely the cream of the crop. Considering the original film negatives were used to create the 4k transfer downscaled to the bluray, it is near perfect. Heck, you can almost see the heat damage on the film in the transfer!

My other choice would have been Apocalypse Now, though I am partial to the movie originally. Fantastically done, uses the sound stage phenomenonally, with video quality almost second to none. Superb

generally, all Paramount brs look pristine to me, but Star Trek Into Darkness looks particularly amazing

Three of my favorites... all shot digitally, but all look beautifully filmic, and have stunning PQ on Blu.

Oblivion.
Life if Pi 3D.
Winters Sleep.

All great choices.

I love the Blu-Ray of John Carpenter's The Thing myself. The amount of extra detail you can see on the monsters and sets reminds me of how Blade Runner's model shots look *more* convincing on Blu-Ray than they did in SD (a hallmark of top tier practical effects).

Edge of Tomorrow is pretty spectacular aswell. I prefer the 3D version, but both transfers are pretty much perfect.

Dredd is really good too, imho.
