Best Call of Duty campaign?

OP should try Black Ops 1 but my favorite is MW2. All the immersion and aesthetics of MW1 but with more variety and bigger set pieces.

In terms of pacing and level design, I still think the Infinity Ward games are better than all the other ones, even Modern Warfare 3 and Ghosts. Actually MW3 is my top COD campaign next to COD4. Advanced Warfare is next to the IW games on my list. I honestly don't like the Treyarch campaigns that much. They don't have the same sense of variety in their level design and encounters.

If you think about it, in the MW games and Ghost you're rarely just shooting guys from behind cover without something else mixing up the situation, whether it involves some kind of vehicle or stealth gameplay or a collapse or some kind of natural disaster. You can never really quite guess what the next mission is going to bring. AW plays by the same rule.

TLD'R: COD4>MW3>MW2>Ghosts>Advanced Warfare>>>>>Black Ops 3>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Black Ops 1 (I skipped Black Ops 2). COD2 is probably somewhere up there with the MW games.

Man everyone mentions the sniper mission in 4 but that was just the icing on an incredible cake.
So much else was so amazing but has been copied to death that people forget how amazing they were for their time(AC-130, final jeep chase, shock of the nuke scene)

Honestly, Ghosts campaign wasn't that bad.
It left on a cliffhanger though that looks like will not be resumed since Infinity Ward is moving on to Infinite Warfare.
Yup, cod campaigns imo are supposed to be summer blockbusters with crazy shit happening and ghosts had that. That cliffhanger left me hyped for the sequel, but we'll never get it.

I'd say MW or MW2, though that whole trilogy is great. I really don't get the love for AW, I feel people just love it solely cause of spacey.

It's a fake toss up between MW1, BO1 and AW. Those are three of the best by far. If I have to choose one it's BO1 since I'm a cold war junkie.

All the stories have no value, MW2 plays the best, not even close really. I've not played past Ghosts, which unfortunately was the worst yet.

All Ghilloed Up was fun until you had to hold off your position by the damn Ferris wheel.
Yo that was the best part...
The atmosphere, the build-up with you being dropped in the middle of heavily guarded enemy territory, only one comrade with you, all that sneaking through instead of killing everyone on your way in, then boom you pull the trigger, you MISS the target. All that sneaking and effort for nothing, then your partner gets fucking hurt, you have to carry him, leave no man behind, the suspense, the sweat dripping on your eyebrow when you're surrounded, see fuckers coming from every direction trying to kill you for what you did.
The intensity and atmosphere could be felt down to the spine goddamn.

1.Modern Warfare
Chernobyl was dope as fuck. Fantastic atmosphere. Great moments. cant beat it.

2.Black Ops
Remember all of the cool shit you can do in the Menu? Zork is inside Blops, as well as a cod version of Smash TV. Not to mention a bunch of weird narrative stuff hidden away in there. So dope. Also I think the game does super well with it's Globe Hopping/time travelling. Incredibly fun. Also has a great AK-47

3.Modern Warfare 2

Runner Up: World at War. It was my first COD. Maybe still my favorite in my heart.

I havent played anything based Black ops 2. Been meaning to get to AW

Wheres the COD 2 Big Red 1 love? Yeah I got the ps2 online working just like for subsistence!

Real answer is WaW the Russian campaign was so awesome. Remember that hotel area when you are somewhere in Berlin and requiem is playing on a radio.

Oh god and the sniper mission that is the start of the Russian campaign!

Oh man I'm remembering so much like at the end of WaW Resnov talks about returning as heros but in BO1 hes in a gulag.

In the toilet where it belongs :P

It wasn't that bad remember that part in Africa?

MW2 had the cool world trekking hunting that one guy down too.

MW2 also had that eerie Russia invasion were its actually more grounded than the later games.

Damn I'm go by a gamestop and see if i can get some of these for around 5$ a peace or something.

Thank you!

Finally someone that respects the last WW2 CoD.
Loved the last mission - rushing the halls of Berlin's Reichstag; a frantic recreation of Hitler's Germany's final, violent days.

Remember the final american mission ends with "next we take the capital castle" then after that final Russian mission it goes on about the atomic bombs dropped and there's no final mission.

The final American level was about taking Shuri Castle. They were just replaying that line because he then says, "Then we all go home" as you're handed the dog tags of either Roebuck or Polonsky who died based on your choice.

Downfall was the final mission, bro.

Black Ops 2 was very good with its ambitious ideas and memorable villain. All the futuristic things were also grounded in reality unlike the new games.
Advanced warfare also shares similar fate with Black Ops 2 with Kevin Spacey and his private military goons, outsourcing of military jobs and all that.
Modern warfare and it's direct sequel were the real adrenaline rush in right doses, lots of memorable sequences and this isn't nostalgia based cause I played 2 first and got the first one years to the end of the console cycle, so it was that good

MW was the best. I know people liked MW 2 better but that story made zero sense and about halfway though the game I had no idea what was going on.
