Best DS games?

Certainly not for everyone (in fact nearly all of my friends dislike the game) but I personally love Animal Crossing on the DS. It's just perfect for a handheld and I find it quite relaxing... a quality I think is pretty rare for a game. It's also charming mostly due to one of the best localizations around.

And Phantom Hourglass is fantastic, from what I've played so far. A bit too easy but still it's easily the best showcase for the DS in terms of what it can do and what you can do with it. Awesome stuff.

For a long train Ride:

Advance Wars DS + Pokémon Diamond/Pearl
If you got enough money, get also Etrian Odyssey, Rocket Slime and, eventually, Contact.

EBA, Trauma Center, New Super Mario Bros. and so on will be great too, but you will eventually start bitching and screaming when you do something wrong. And in a train is not that good.

Edit: I forgot to mention Luminous Arc and Rune Factory.

Okay, lemme try:

We need more games which involve moons crashing onto the planet. Am I right or am I right?

I'm not very good at friendly banter.
You motherfucker.

Did you just spoiler Etrian Odyssey?

THE WEDDING IS OFF!

Legendary:
Advance Wars: Dual Strike, Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, Elite Beat Agents if it's not that bumpy, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, Tetris DS

Fantastic:
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, Mario Kart DS, Meteos if it's not that bumpy

Great:
Mega Man ZX, New Super Mario Bros., Super Princess Peach, Yoshi's Island DS in spite of its horrible music
...Also Kirby Squeak Squad, but you shouldn't buy that. Kirby Super Star fits into the Legendary category, and a remake's been announced for DS--if there's only one Kirby platformer you ever played, Super Star should be the one.

SPP is seriously underrated, by the way. Best boss battles in the whole Mario universe, especially the final boss sequence.

Listen to Jiggy, for Jiggy is wise in the ways of the Force good taste.

Although I disagree with your assertion that Super Princess Peach has the best boss battles in Mario. This cannot be, for that title belongs to Yoshi's Island.

Thats because it hurts on a personal level when someone recommends games like Meteos over true gems like Planet Puzzle League.

You're lucky I'm weak and pathetic in real life and can only act tough on the internet or else I'd be really angry and do something! Meteos is definitely superior to PPL! The Galactic Fork alone makes that so!

Don't get advance wars, get the second one in three months. Only big AW-fans should get multiple copies.

Don't listen to him. Get AWDS NOW. If you like it, then get the sequel in a few months. If not, at least you know the formula isn't for you.

Is the DQ game a take off on DQ8? If so that might be in order...

Think Legend of Zelda with the cuteness and easy difficulty of Kirby and with awesome tank battles. And it stars a Slime.

Tony Hawk: American Sk8land was fun but Proving Ground is coming out soon at the end of the month.

Maybe he isn't made of money!!! Just kidding, but I would personally wait...

Buy Yoshi's Island DS now. Unless you can live with yourself knowing that you passed on the best platformer in the last five years.

Seriously, if you get:

New Super Mario Bros.
Mario Kart DS
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Brain Age 2
Elite Beat Agents

.........you will be in handheld bliss for a long time. Then go out and buy:

Yoshi's Island
Castlevania: Potrait of Ruin
Kirby Canvas Curse
Advance Wars DS
Clubhouse games
.....and one or two of the PLETHORA of awesome puzzle games (I suggest Meteos)

1. Mario Kart DS DS Nintendo 79 8.9 92.1%
2. Advance Wars: Dual Strike DS Nintendo 60 8.7 90.6%
3. Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow DS Konami 70 8.7 90.5%
4. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass DS Nintendo 31 9.1 90.2%
5. New Super Mario Bros. DS Nintendo 79 8.8 88.8%
6. Meteos DS Nintendo 68 8.4 88.6%
7. Planet Puzzle League DS Nintendo 23 10.0 88.2%
8. Kirby: Canvas Curse DS Nintendo 62 8.4 87.6%
9. Elite Beat Agents DS Nintendo 50 8.8 87.0%
10. Super Mario 64 DS DS Nintendo 78 8.6 86.5%

Huh, I wouldn't have guessed that Mario Kart of all things is the highest rank for DS games on Gamerankings.

Those games are the reason why I still own a DS.

And they're perfect for a train ride, if you ask me.

Yep, that saga makes the system worth it for me.

Add Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2 to that list (you know the second game will be so damn awesome.)
