Giving me way more than I could have hoped for, my mother and my girlfriend combined their powers and provided me with the best gaming birthday I've ever had.
Back in October I had to return the PS2 I was borrowing leaving me with no way to play SotC. Today was the remedy.

A lot of games here highly praised by GAF and a game of CLUE to match the other "book" versions of games I already have.

I was also majorly let down by that game, I have to say I haven't played the old original game, but I was unpleasantly surprised.

That's a nice haul, Oli, with the exception of GSH and Animal Crossing, IMO. SotC is gold, screw the haters.

I've actually played a good bit of a friend's ACS and I enjoy it a lot more than the GC version. They made everything much quicker and easier.

I had one previously and sold it due to disappointment total.
I borrowed a friend's PS2 for Katamari Damacy, but had to return it.
And now I have my own since the games are cheap and SotC is out along with We <3 Katamari.

I've played enough Dragon Warrior games and menu-based RPGs to know that they aren't usually my cup of tea. The only things that make Mario RPG titles so great for me are the platforming and humor.

DQVIII has grass. The gameplay is great, but it takes about 60 hours to get into it.

Don't let negative impressions of Super stop you from playing the original...it is quite amazing.

It's definitely nothing new, but it's strangely addictive. I can't explain it.

Well there's nothing WRONG with it either.

You just have to know what to expect going in. SNES gameplay design + PS2 awesome presentation.

You like Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (I do), don't you? It's like that, but with a much better presentation.

Sometimes you have to go back to the basic stuff, and sometimes you have to try DK Jungle Beat and Shadow of the Colossus. I've played all three.
