I honestly prefer looking at games like Uncharted, MGS4 or RE5 on the console side of things. I realise that technically KZ2 is a beast, and obviously looks better technically, but the overall presentation means a lot to me; I just prefer the direction those other games took.StateofMind said:Obviously Killzone 2 on consoles. Obviously Crysis if you include PC.
It's not even subjective right now. Maybe later better looking games will come out that are close enough to argue about.

The game will not look that good in action, and if you fork out the cash in order to try and get it to look that good, you will have a serious case of buyers remorse upon playing the game. It's a good game, but not I need a new PC good.Kabuki Waq said:holy crap!
If I wanted the game to run like that at Constant 30+ frames what kind of machine would i need? or is this some GT5 "photo mode" type garbage.

Calcaneus said:Well it definitely has some of the best art design of the gen, which definitely means more than best graphics.

I'm not sure about those pictures, but Crysis does have some "review" or whatnot screenshot feature that takes a hugely scaled up picture to get high detail etc.

I prefer PGRIV and Uncharted as the best looking, but I know others don't agree, but the point is you can't come off as passing your view as final. It doesn't work that way.

Opiate said:There's no way KZ2 takes this crown. There are several games on DS that absolutely floor me, given the restrictions. I'm quite sure that there have been a host of games that have come closer to maximizing the platform's potential than KZ2 did.

CPU, any dual core or quad core clocked above 3.3. I would say 3.6 to be safe. GPU a GTX275-280. You can get a new PC with those parts for less than $700.Kabuki Waq said:holy crap!

The jungle shots are prettier, but here I have the maximun settings achievable in the game, in the most demanding type of level (snow). Very playable.lowrider007 said:I love Crysis but your really over selling it with alot of these screen shots that don't really give a true depiction of what the game will look like on 99% of peoples systems, or at least run at a playable frame rate looking like that, especially when it comes to using shots that come from mods.

Really, when we are talking about graphics, its no contest. Sure you might like the art directions of other games better, but when it comes to graphics Crysis has the best this gen.
I took that shot for benchmarking purposes. I recognize it is an ugly shot. This is as bad as Crysis looks, which would be the equivalent to KZ2's corridor moments when there is nothing impressive to look at.BruceLeeRoy said:I think Crysis definitely takes the technical crown but its shots like this that make me understand the graphics debate.
Kabuki Waq said:ugh man fuck that fake shit. I cant wait till game look like that and run with a stable frame rate.
Onix said:Wrong, you lose ... invalid answer.
If someone said what has the best graphics in a game so far ... sure. However, when someone says 'this gen', it implies consoles, since PC's games do not technically have a 'gen'.

Interesting. However, I alredy finished Crysis and I am not reinstalling it.Nikorasu said:Don't force AF in Crysis. It breaks the parallax occlusion mapping technique they used which is why the ground looks so flat. There is a reason they don't give you the option in-game.
