Long story short, I finally figured out that I need a powered HDMI switch to cooperate with my PS4, but I need a recommendation on one that works well. I need it to have 4 inputs (PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Wii U). Preferably I'd like to get it on Amazon (U.S.).

I'm *sure* many of you are using switches for your home theater setup. Which do you recommend? Thanks!

Edit - it *needs* to be powered.

Why does it need to be powered? Is there an advantage?

Basically, the PS4 requires a powered switch, you can actually make an unpowered one work (what I have currently) by turning on another device, this actually provides enough power for the PS4.

Example:

Ps4 only device on - no signal
Xbox one only device on - signal
Xbox one and PS4 on - PS4 actually gets signal (in addition to Xbox one)

Whoa. That has picture in picture. How does it work? Since I lost xbox snap feature I'm looking for alternatives.

No you don't. I have an unpowered switch and it works perfectly with the PS4. It's a cheap ass one too.

Dunno, I've got my PS4 hooked up using one of these cheap unpowered 3-way switches, and it works when it's the only system powered up.

Maybe they're a crapshoot.

Haha that's the EXACT one I have now, it it 100% does not work when the PS4 is the only device on. I tried multiple cables and the only thing that happens is that the blue light blinks. When I turned on the Xbox one, suddenly the PS4 signal would come through.

Woah. I tried again and now it's magically working. Not joking. Same setup as before but now it works. I'm guessing it had something to do with turning the Xbox one on once (I'm in a new house now) and now the Xbox is in power saver mode which is sending power to the switch?

A feature I hardly use. It's nothing to write home about as you only get 3 small rectangular PIP screen on the left side of your TV. Also, the screens also have a 5 second lag so
the PIP is more of a slideshow of your other connected devices.

Ah. That sucks to hear. Guess I'll stick to the one I have now then. Ironically it's the cheap ass 3 way linked above. It works like a champ so might as well keep using it then.

Using this thread to ask about this: I have unpowered HDMI switch with PS4 (original) and Nintendo Switch. Ever since getting the Nintendo Switch I have had problems with PS4 HDMI signal, which cuts off intermittently whilst playing PS4. I have CEC on on all devices, and it works, but the PS4 signal cutting off every 5 minutes or so (it comes back after maybe 10 seconds) is annoying. Any settings I could change to stop this happening?
