Best headsets for PS4?

I am in the market for a new headset for the PS4, and I was wondering if you guys could recommend some of the best ones available? I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
 
I own a Gold set by Sony. It's very nice. I read everywhere that it breaks easily, but mine is still going strong. Sound isn't perfect, but it's pretty good for the price. Very comfortable for my melon head. I'm brazilian, so my options are limited unless I'm okay with playing wired (I'm not) or want to overpay egregiously. There's even a nice app on the PS4 that lets you fuck about with equalization and shit although I set mine to BOOST BASS and never move, but I'm a caveman. All things considered I'm very satisfied with it.

Arctic Steelseries 7 (wireless, surround)

Hyperx Cloud Alpha (Wired, stereo)

both great headsets with great mics for 100 bucks or less

Sony Golds are okay
Sony Plats are good, better mic than the golds

neither produce sound quality or mic quality of the first two sets I mention, in my experience, and I've used all four sets extensively. Both Sony sets pale in comparison with the deep/bass levels and mic quality compared to the SS7s and Cloud Alpha.

Cloud Alpha probably the most comfortable of the 4, Steelseries 7 least comfortable (still comfortable though, I just have a huge head), Sony sets sandwiched in the middle in terms of comfort

if you're looking to spend 200 bucks or more it's a whole different discussion

1. cooler master mh751 hands down - only "gaming" headset worth owning that's <$200

2. your own pair of headphones with a 3.5mm input & vmoda boom pro mic (can be found on amazon)

gaming specific headsets are mostly scams with shitty drivers. most pairs of headphones in the $50-$100 range easily outperform gaming headsets that are $200-$300. The only exception are the coolermaster mh-751, which actually are a redesigned pair of takstar headphones.
 
I have the Arctis Steel series 7

its the best headset I've ever owned

turtle beach and Sony's gold and platinum headsets are plastic trash

the steel series 7 work on PS4,Xbox, and my switch too
 
Arctis 1/3/5/7

I believe they all have the same audio drivers (I know the 3/5/7 do) and they are all very comfy. Arctis 1 has a regular headband unlike the others which have a suspension headband. Arctis 1 has a wireless version that's like $99 and works wirelessly on Switch too.

Also HyperX Cloud Alpha/Flight are great too.
 
I use the Sennheiser Game One. I think the audio quality is excellent as is the positional tracking. It's not for everyone as it's open back so sound does leak in and out. The bass isn't booming either so if you like that it's not for you.

I have no experience but once I had one for ps4 and still I have it now I bought it in 2014 or 2015 i really can't remember, its Turtle Beach .. I really enjoyed it a lot its comfortable and the noise cancellation is just perfect .. also the mic is clear

I didn't like Sony headset really .. but Turtle Beach is great for me
 
Depends, what's your budget? My recommendation for the prices you pay for Sonys crappy sets are to get an Audio Technica M40x and a Microphone cable, high quality sound and you can chat without making sacrifices in either department and it's multiuse without getting into "Gamer Gear" territory.

The Platinum have far better positional (3D) sound than any other PS4 headset.

You mean literally every headset compatible with the PS4? Or any other Sony headset?

The Steelseries 7 3d audio is incredible too

in my personal opinion, based on extensive experience with all four headsets I mentioned, the Arctis SS7s are by far the best overall bang for the buck.

I recently changed my PS Golds for the Razer Thresher Ultimate headset and the upgrade in sound quality and surround effect is amazing. I find them super comfortable and I'm really happy with them.
 
i have Corsair Void Wireless Dolby 7.1 RGB and a logitech g933, both are great in my experience in sound.

I Think is one of the best in wireless headset, but if you want headset with cable, go for HyperX.

I can have it but i hate the cable and design of the headset, my personal choice is headset with futuristic desing and wireless

When used on PS4 no headset uses better 3D/positional sound than the Platinum by Sony.
 
I use the Steelseries 7 on my pc and the hyperx cloud alpha on my Xbox. I would recommend both, but like the Steelseries 7 the most, and it is quite comfortable. I also have the Razer kraken v2, but the volume wheel broke, and for me it is less comfortable than the other two, it is painful for long hours and creates a hot sweaty feeling.
 
Big fan of the HyperX Cloud Alphas as well.

If you can play with open back headphones I would highly suggest trying a set of those.

Something like the Phillips SHP9500 is a great entry level open back headphone for around $70.
 
I've been using PS Golds for years. The newest version (non folding) are even better. Great sound and you can use an AUX cable if needed. Can't be beat for the price. Currently $70 on Amazon. Although I can't speak for the mic as I used a Blue Snowball which is better than nearly any headset mic.
 
I won't claim they are the best but I always see people shitting on the Gold headset and in my experience they have been good.
Got them as a present like 5 years ago and despite getting some heavy use on both Ps4 and PC it has given me no issues and still looks/works fine. Sound is pretty good (nothing mindblowing though), works well with Ps4/PC/Switch and has an optional aux port.

I never really use the surround option though. The effect isn't worth the loss in quality.

I would recommend a Sennheiser PC360. It's an excellent wired stereo headset for ~150€

Sennheisers are pretty good. I use the momentums with mine and they are excellent. Plus the cable is replaceable so they should last a while.

Edit: It's wired btw.

Someone answer this guy! My question Is exactly the same. I am looking at hyperx flight, flight s and cooler master mh670. The steelseries have suspension headband which I don't like and dongles on long cables which misses the point imo

None, every headset I've tried on PS4 ends up sounding to quiet even on max volume, input type doesn't seem to matter.
 
Problem with the golds is the placement of buttons on the headset. No differentiation between the various controls apart from tiny text stencils that are basically unreadable in low-light conditions.
