I agree. Somehow it was very well balanced and intense. In fact, the whole fucking package of that game was pretty much perfect.I actually really liked the one in Uncharted 2.
Modern warfare 3 had a horde mode? How the hell was I unaware of this?
I played mass effect's on release and didn't like it. But they've added a ton of maps since. Has it improved?
The lack of Resident Evil and its Mercenaries mode in this thread is highly unsettling.
Orcs Must Die 1/2
Dungeon Defenders isn't really worth playing.
I totally agree with Mass Effect 3. A ton of fun.
Gears of War 3's Horde 2.0, Uncharted 3 and Killing Floor are my favourites.
I kinda enjoy Overrun in Gears Judgment, but definitely missed Horde 2.0.
Dosh! Right here!Killing Floor!
+huge load of well designed maps
+active modding community (custom maps, 100 people servers, etc)
+regularly on sale @steam for about 3,50€
+tons of fun and mostly balanced weapons
+updates at least twice a year with additional maps and weapons
+regular "events" like halloween, christmas and...carnival...and...stuff
+the most hilarious voice commands in any multiplayer since Age of Empires II
Bioshock Infinite - Clash in the Clouds DLC
I thought that the gameplay was pretty mediocre while playing the singleplayer. This horde arena mode makes it really shine though. Especially if you go for all the ribbons.

Binary Domain, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, Bioshock Infinite, and Gears of War 2.
Those are the best 5 that I have played. BD, Warhammer, and OF are all very difficult which and are all co-op which in my opinion makes for the best Horde Mode. Bioshock Infinite's was probably the most thought out horde, and Gears 2 was the original for me.
I...I kind of like Mass Effect 3.
*bows head in shame*

I've never understood this argument. Mass Effect 3 had more than competant shooting mechanics and built a diverse set of them. Sure, you have your average hit scan weapons but the later tier weapons are when it really gets interesting. You want a grenade launcher type weapon? Use a Falcon. Want a pistol that shoots proximity mines? Use a Scorpion. Want a weird biotic pistol that fires in an arc and can bounce off of walls? Acolyte. A weird ass shotgun that you can charge and shoots out knives? Graal. A sniper rifle that shoots out a continuous death ray? Collector Sniper Rifle. A shotgun that channels Emperor Palpatine's Force Lighting? Reegar Carbine.I've played a fair amount of Mass Effect 3 horde mode. But c'mon guys, that game was only fum because of the RPG mechanics. The core shooting mechanics were so mediocre and has been so for the entire series.
In an unofficial capacity, it does.Wish doom 2 had a co op horde mode
