I'm down with The Thing.

But all three of the Carpenter/Russell flicks were great.

Escape From LA is an abortion.

Zuhzuh? Carpenter directed L.A. too. I thought it was pretty damn good for a sequel to the greatest movie ever made.

LA was pretty good but did they have to rehash the ending?

Anyways, pretty good movies I haven't seen in a while are: Big Trouble in Little China, Tango and Cash, Stargate, And so on.

Best? That's a tie between The Thing and Big Trouble.

Yeah, but the three Carpenter/Russell movies from the '80s were made when Carpenter was a competant director. By the time LA rolled around, his game had fallen off by a huge degree.

What's wrong with escape from LA?

Ahh, I dunno, it just doesn't have the same appeal. The first one was funny in an understated way, while the second seemed like it was trying too hard. Plus, the atmosphere just wasn't as cool as the whole night time NY vibe. Not to mention, there was no Donald Pleasance.

"I know I'm human. And if you were all these things, then you'd just attack me right now, so some of you are still human. This thing doesn't want to show itself, it wants to hide inside an imitation. It'll fight if it has to, but it's vulnerable out in the open. If it takes us over, then it has no more enemies, nobody left to kill it. And then it's won. "

Executive Decision

Although, only because Halle Barry is in it. And that weird guy that plays the same nerdy character in every movie. And the BAMF black guy.

and Steven Seagal dies in the first 30 minutes.

Best Steven Seagal movie ever.

I also nominate Captain Ron.

Across the board the acting was way worse. And I love Bruce Campbell.
