Best PC games to play with a controller?

Dear NeoGAF,

I have finally bought a 360 controller to use on my PC. Recommend me the awesome games I should definitely play with this thing!

Unnecessary TL;DR - which PC games rock with a controller?

I played Skyrim with a 360 controller for a while then installed the SkyUI mod and switched to keyboard and mouse. I play Wolfenstein with the controller, Kingdoms of Amalur. Though with most PC games, I feel mouse and keyboard setup is better. Like Crysis 2, I played with a controller for about a half hour because I was use to that when I played it on 360 then just switched to keyboard and mouse. Now Wolfenstein, for some reason turning left doesn't work when I use my keyboard setup and it is mapped so idk but I have to use a controller.

The Assassins Creed games. Crysis 2 is pretty good with a controller too, though it was needed a bit in multiplayer.

Most games that have a console version will probably be good, except Mass Effect.

woah cool - didnt know isaac finally got controller support...or do you need to use a controlled config setup?

I like old school EMU stuff like everyone else... Hero Core is great, Hydorah, Meatboy, Alan Wake, Dead Space..umm.. ... i guess thats all from me

Skyrim with a controller keybind mod. You can get 8 item/spell slots on the d-pad, quicksave/load, and direct presses into each of the menu sections (Map/Items/Spells/etc.)

I honestly can't imagine playing the game without it.

All the other games I have are multiplatform and work the same way as the consoles. Although if you pick up the PC version of Borderlands and change the POV to 90 the aiming just feels so much better, and I don't really know why. It just does.

I could never get a good controller setup for Crysis - there was always something missing or janky no matter what configs I used, which is why I appreciate how Crysis 2 changed things up.

anything that supports it that isnt a first person shooter

(though i prefer to play some third person shooters with kb/m as well)

Games where the KB/M's natural advantage doesn't come into play (games that involve skillful use of 3d camera like FPS/TPS, menu driven and or isometric point and clicking games, 3d games that involve looking up or down in general lol). When a game is neutral in regards to necessity of camera I usually play with a controller but even then the ability to hit any button on the keyboard / mouse while controlling the camera and or moving at the same time cannot be understated.

Devil May Cry 4 is pretty great with a controller. Especially when you unlock LDK mode that wasn't on the consoles.

Is it a separate difficulty level like Son of Sparda and DMD mode? Or is it a setting at the beginning of the game to modify each of the Human, Son of Sparda, DMD modes?

If it's the former, is it after or before DMD mode?

I found Assassin's creed to be close to unplayable with a keyboard and mouse. Controller is the only way to play that game as far as I'm concerned.

Pretty much any third person action game is what I use my controller for. Playing Witcher 2 now and its great. I played Skyrim in 3rd person as well with a controller

I found Alpha Protocol to be unplayable on a mouse and keyboard, mainly because of that code-hacking mini-game. I don't remember exactly why it was difficult, but something about the placement of the keys for moving the 2 lines of code separately was really awkward. Plus the aiming in combat felt really jittery. I switched over to a 360 pad after a few hours and it improved my experience immensely.
