You see all those other Primates and other Pigs? screw them, they tremble in Primeape's shadow.
Game Freak so desperate to return balance due to overwhelming Primeape love set forth on a mission to try and redirect that love across the other pokemon, first up was a new monkey in Aipom who nobody even found hiding up those trees, Primeape doesn't headbutt trees, he wrecks faces, Plan A(ipom) was a failure, Mankey laughs at it.
Next up GF brought the pigs back in, the only reason people remember Spoink is because the poor sod dies if he stops bouncing, Grumpig tries to one up Primeape by being super effective against it but no one cared, back to the drawing board GF.
So Gen 4 rolls around and this time GF mean business, a fighting ape for a starter, the fire starter at that, hell it's even got "ape" on the end of its name, people saw through the charade, Infernape was both a rip off of Blaziken's style and Primeapes primal brawling and was shunned. Not licked yet GF went to revise Plan A(ipom) and this time gave it ANOTHER TAIL HAND for twice the slappage, unfortunately just like how no one bothers headbutting trees no one slathers honey on them either, Aipom and his frekaish evo Ambipom crashed and burned once more.
Finally in a fit of madness the people at GF were on the edge, FIGHTING PIG STARTER! 6 MORE MONKEYS! the stench of desperation was strong, Game Freak had truly lost it but at least Emboar has a beard of pure fire, at the very least he had manly fighting spirit.
So now with Gen 6 looming ever closer perhaps GF will accept defeat and finally put Primeape in a freaking regional dex once again and he'll return to his rightful place on every team, or more likely they'll make a new fighting Pig Ape because they clearly want to kill their greatest creation.

I'm pretty sure lightbulbs did that.
People like to hate him, but it's an iconic design. He made us all associate electricity with the color yellow for no apparent reason. Lightning is blue.

Dunno what it is, but something about Galvantula REALLY clicked with me. Nice color scheme (and a unique one at that, how often do you see purple and yellow?), clearly spider-like with the mandibles and eyes, but still cute. Nice patterns without going overboard, just generally a quality Pokemon.
Not sure if he beats Squirtle as my absolute favorite but he's definitely my favorite design.

Kinda has that badger look going for him.
Gen one is king, but the later gens still got some great stuff. Pokemon has aged really well imo.Watch out motherfuckers, it's Ampharos.

Coolest dark type (and dark is my favorite Pokemon type), best Eeveelution*, Gary fucking Oak uses him, and has the loyal companion look to him. Even if he kinda sucks ingame, I always have him on my team if possible.
*Jolteon's cool too.
Nice pick. Personal favorite fully evolved starter.
Kinda has that badger look going for him.

I'm struggling to remember here, but I think either Braviary or that evolved Crow thing was the only non legendary Gen V 'mon I needed to complete my Pokedex :<
I never could get a trade going, and literally every single time I tried to request it online, no one could figure out what I wanted. I eventually gave up.
I guess I should try B2/W2 at some point, I had a lot of fun with Black.

To fully appreciate him, you have to see him from all angles in 3D. His "veins" loop around his shoulders and crisscross his back, like rope reinforcing him. Then you have his "walking sticks," and how he utilizes the centrifugal force of spinning concrete in his attacks.
I just love him. He's the Gen V Machamp and based on the trope of a martial arts sage, with some good old-fashioned "murder clown" thrown in the mix.

I love way too many Pokemon to list, but Rayquaza is awesome. And his shiny is even better.
Torterra may also be my favourite starter of all time. Grass / Ground is an amazing type and it looks awesome. p.s. Turtwig is also amazing.
Raichu is by far my favourite original 151 Pokemon.
All the Dragon Pokemon from Gen V are great, but Haxorus stands out for me.

I never even got to use him in my intial run. It took FOREVER to get one or to evolve it.

I find Joltik absolutely adorable, which is something I never thought I'd say about bugs ever. Interesting typing and good evolution too.

I was so disappointed with the 3rd version of 'regular bird' from White.
You know, the Pidgey of that game. I'm watching the cartoon right now (Ash using it in a Gym battle) and I still can't even remember what its called lol. Bird Pokemon are usually one of my favs but I thought both genders looked pretty stupid.
Then later in the game when I saw Braviary I was like WTF THAT IS WHERE ALL THE AWESOME BIRD WENT.
Beyond that just can't go past the original starters, and I always imagined what it would be like to have an Onix in real life lol. So cool.
I remember my young self imagining Onix having an evolution and it blew my mind. Real life Steelix would turn f**king heads with his epicness.
They should make a cute baby Onix lol.

Pidgeotto was only cool because of the cartoon. Fearow and Dodrio had actual flying moves.
Actually, the vanilla bird in general is only cool because of the cartoon, but that's neither here nor there.
