Best RPG Graphics on PS2?

I would say Shadow Hearts: From the New World. Awesome looking locations, great character models, extremely nice textures and environments.

It looks even better in motion, in my opinion.

Judging from screens and trailers, Grandia 3, Final Fantasy 12 and Kingdom Hearts 2 should look a bit better, but I haven't played them yet, so...

I'm quite suprise nobody said it, but anyhow Champions of Norrath..

FFX for its time definately, but there are now better looking RPG's. Kingdom hearts is very nice and Dark Cloud looks beautiful too.

I was stunned with DDS graphics. They were not technically impressive but they looked amazing and it did the game wonders. More games should look like DDS.

Im sure FFXII will have the best graphics this generaion once it is released

The presentation, character animations of Shadow Hearts Covenant...

the style of DDS and/or Nocturne

the overall quality of DQVIII

DQ8's probably the most consistent with its visuals. Though, I hear Rogue Galaxy bests it. Final Fantasy XII looks pretty good upclose (lots of subtle details on the character models). But the game as a whole just doesn't look that great.

DQVIII is by far the best looking RPG I've played. FFX and FFX-2 hold up pretty well, especially when it comes to the character models.

After going back into KH lately, it doesn't look as good as I remember it, and the video I've seen from KH 2 definitely trumps it.

after watching the trailer of Valkyrie Profile 2, I have to say that I will probably consider it this best looking ps2 game period, not just rpg. That said, I love Rogue Galaxy and Dragon Quest 8, they both have excellent graphics

I don't see how it's possible NOT to give it to DQ8. Star Ocean 3 is probably the next closest in line.

But yea, Silmeria could potentially lay waste.

Yeah I am going to have to agree with the people saying DQ8. It really is extremely pleasing to the eyes. The colors are nice and it has a very clean look. Overall it is a very beautiful world that they managed to create.

Rogue Galaxy has pretty damn good graphics. You can just walk from an incredibly detailed outside world into a highly detailed interior without loading.

Out now in the US.

Dragon Quest VII or Final Fantasy XI, technically, in my opinion.

FFXII demo looks promising, but they need to get rid of the webbed fingers on the in-game charater models. I mean WTF, the enemies have fingers but the main charactes don't?

According to many reviewers, Kingdom Hearts II takes the cake though.
I guess once they are all released, either Kingdom Hearts II, Final Fantasy XII, or Rogue Galaxy. Valkyrie Profile is look good too, in terms of art style.

And yes, Champions: Return to Arms does indeed look great.

I haven't really seen the new Shadow Hearts yet to comment.

Gotta go with Valkyrie Profile:Silmeria even though it's not out yet. Even though the environments are pretty small, Radiata Stories looks very nice and has a charming style. DQ8's expansive world is fantastic - climbing to the top of a lookout tower and looking over the town and the environment in the distance is quite a sight to behold.

I have to disagree with the DQ8 nominations, not because it's bad but because it's only impressive because of the nearly infinite draw distance. It isn't remarkably beautiful.

Radiata Stories, on the other hand, looks absolutely scrumptious. I think I should have kept it rather than selling it off.

For tactical RPGs, Fire Emblem is the best of a piss-poor bunch as far as visuals go.
