Lots of good memories going down this list, feels like I owned almost half of these games.

Pokemon Crystal numbers are surprising but not so surprising in hindsight considering that it's easily the worst 3rd game of any given generation. Pinball at 3 is wild, but that game rules.

If Frogger could hit those numbers, would have thought Tetris DX should have broken 1M at least considering how big Tetris on Game Boy was, pack in aside.

It should be reiterated that the list is life-to-date by August 2001, making it more understandable for Pokemon Crystal to have lower numbers since it released July 2001.

Sooooo many licensed games. It was such a different time.
I still cannot fathom why 1) Nintendo thought that rereleasing SMB in that format would work, 2) so many people bought it anyway. SMB Deluxe is the worst way you could play SMB.

Oh hey, my godzilla game made the list (or at least i assume thats the tie-in for godzilla: the series for the gbc)

A time when it far more common to see licensed games than indie games. Nowadays on Switch 2, you're more likely to see original games high on the sales charts while more of the licensed made quickly for a cash-grab get banished to the app stores.
