The Storm's (Halo 3) skybox astounded me from the moment I saw the first batch of campaign screenshots last year.

Based on what I've seen in the thread I'd have to go with Stalker, Halo and Mass Effect.

Alan Wake would probably be the best shown... but that's not released so I'm not including it. :lol

I'm not the biggest fan of WoW but I can't see how people can say that the game is ugly. The short three months I played I thought the game looked really great, as those pictures show.

GT5 has a clear sky, but nothing like the, err, atmosphere of Oblivion or the beauty of Warhawk (you can fly through the clouds = victory).

Its Halo 3. Crysis and STALKER have that realistic look and amazing lighting, but Halo3 actually brings art into the sky itself.

Trying to find some better Warhawk ones...it might be better in motion..cause its damned impressive when you are flying way up high looking down...

When playing...if you take more than 2 seconds to look at the sky, you will probably get killed...

That is because Stalker is a pc game. Easily has the best skies in my memory, they look real to me.

Man, I wish I had a screenshot of it, but in KoTOR 1, when you can climb that cliff and overlook the ocean with the Ebon Hawk on the beach, I was incredibly impressed with how beautiful it made the sky look.

And to contribute: I really liked the skies in Super Mario Sunshine. They were either very blue and framed by cotton-like clouds or so orange that your eyes bled (couldn't find screenshots of the dusk sky).

My vote goes to Scrapland. When I first stepped D-Tritus out onto a launch platform, I just stopped, looked up and saw a massive field of orbiting asteroids drifting around. Utterly awesome.

These shots don't really do much justice. Great game.

I've always liked the way the sky looked in DKC2.
