Man, oh man, now I need to find my MDK CD. Devs forgot how to make games of that caliber a long time ago, that thing was crafted.

SiN 1, amazingly bad ass, and there was always a delay when you would choose the weapon. I believe it was silenced. And when you were hit, it's gib city.
Correct. The rifle was silenced, and hitting someone in the chest delivered some serious gibbing. I remember my first contact with it, I think it was near the dam level and I vaporized the first half of some chump. Brutal.

Bolt action sniper from Resident Evil 4. The reloading animation was amazing.

I specifically didn't upgrade to the "better" sniper rifle just because of the reloading. That gun was so awesome. Also, when I used to play Unreal Tournament hardcore, I loved the one that was in that game. Damn I was a machine with that gun.

And while I love sniper rifles, I absolutely couldn't stand the sniper rifles in either Halo titles.

Red Orchestra by faaaaaaaaaaaar.

Being a sniper in that game was such a big advantage, but you must of been responsible with it too.

m24 in Battlefield 2. Yes, it's sort of underpowered. But that's a good thing as most of the newbies stay away from sniping or end up being good fodder for me.

In Quake 3, you could change your settings in the console for your railgun's trail wouldn't disappear. You could change its size and color and make some pretty cool line art. Some of my friends used to make some nice looking stuff on the Longest Yard. It's especially fun to play with it left on.

iam going for mgs - psg1 and
graw - all of them rocked out at sniper only mp in graw 2 yesterday. Nothing better than hunting down french player :lol :D

I actually like the one u get in resistance... When you take a deep breath and it gets all slow, and you shoot a guy in the head and the blood goes flying... I thought it was so cool...

Desert Combat! Don't have to reload after firing a shot, has a nice large clip, accurate, and sounds cool!

F.E.A.R's ASP rifle is pretty cool too! Kinda sounds like the assault gun in Halo 2 but you can take out limbs or even snipe someone is half with it. Powerful sniper rifle

I'm going to have to throw in my vote for the AWP in Counter-Strike. It had one of the most distinct firing sounds of any sniper rifle, put the fear o' God in you when you heard it go off.

I'd have to go with the AWP, just because I love the thrill of having a dual between another guy one on one with it. In actual games online in CS, I tend to use the other Sniper in the game more, you can move and snipe at the same time.

The Barrett in the Socom series always had a major impact on your play style... Being a one hit kill stick is one thing, but when you heard that bastard go off anywhere, it commands respect and shit get behind cover... :lol

But, my personal fav in that series is the SR-25 non-silenced... it sounded awesome! Plus, quick firing as well...

MDK was seriously innovative back in the day. Too bad the sequels kind of strayed away from what made the game so amazing...

Headtapping AWPers while Scouting in CSS is pretty much the best FPS feeling in the world.

****ing AWPers.

Anyway, yeah. So. The Scout in CSS.

Anyone remember a PC title called Project IGI from a few years ago? Not a paticularly great game, but the sniper rifles were amazing.

It's already been said many times, but the only answer is the Springfield M1903 in RE4.

I can't think of a more satisfying gun in any other game.

The far sight is by far the most overpowered sniper in a game. You can sit in a corner and on secondary fire it aims itself so you can shoot anyone on the map without any skill whatsoever, a bit of a pussy weapon really.

Yeah, I'd agree. For some reason I'm really partial to the Goldeneye sniper rifle too.

Yes, and as far as i remember, that was one of the first sniper rifles to have the "floaty" feel to it, really making it seem authentic, so yeah i pick that one.

Luuuved the sniper in BF 1942, it was a gimped sniper but the levels made it awesome and when/if you got the hang of it you could use it as an close quarters assault rifle as well. :D

If an AWPer hits your pinky toe nail you die, or at least it feels like it. Scout is awesome in CSS and definitely has the right feel.
