Best way to connect Wii U Pro Controller to PC?

Just picked up a Wii U Pro Controller, because what better way to celebrate hardware that's about to be replaced than to get an accessory for it that'll be useless for the next generation. I do like the idea of using it with certain Nintendo-ish PC games and I've seen some talk about the Mayflash adapter and WiinUPro/WiinUSoft. Anyone have experience with these and can recommend something?
 
The mayflash adapter works like a charm. Emulates X or D-input as you please, wireless and easy to setup
 
Recently bought a mayflash to use my pro with a pc - works great - though I had to hold start (or '+' i guess) and 'B' to turn on to make it emulate a 360 controller button layout - i think start + A is a different layout, but one you do it once you don't have to do it again.

Works great, playing Far Cry 4 with it at the moment. I have 2 for my WiiU, which I guess will not be compatible with switch (happy to be wrong about that!), so they will get mileage as great PC controllers!
 
If you already have a Bluetooth adapter, use WiinUSoft. It is a bit fiddly though, so if you don't, you can get a Mayflash adapter. Unless you'd benefit from a Bluetooth adapter for other needs e.g. Dualshock 4, then I'd say just get a Bluetooth adapter. Not a fan of having specialized dongles just for one thing.
 
Mayflash for sure. To my delight I discovered this past weekend that it also works with a Raspberry Pi. I just plugged it in and was off to the races. 80 hour wireless battery life with for retro gaming? Yes please.
 
Just to add to the mayflash column, it can also be used at least on a ps3, don't have a ps4 to try, but the ease of use is worth the ~$30.
 
I use WiinUPro. However, it's always a bit hard to pair the controller to my notebook and I have to try a few times until it works.
 
A little off topic but I bought a Mayflash recently but it didn't map correctly at all the left stick (up was down and viceversa) and I didn't see the option to re-map/calibrate the Wii U Pro controller. Where's the option?

They updated it so it doesn't need toshiba bluestack anymore, so it is pretty easy. I just have some trouble disconnecting the controller.

But still, open windows settings > bluetooth > pair controller and then enable it in WiiunSoft.

I'm really hoping that's not the case. It's a damn good controller, I'm optimistic that the Switch will be compatible.
 
YMMV: Wii U Pro Controllers are on clearance at WalMart.
