Posted in the other thread, but I really don't think they'd have enough material to stretch out 13, hour long episodes. It could work as a half-hour show though.

I like breaking bad, but I hate AMC. They're so stingy.

"Watch this show to get the preview for the next episode"

I bet AMC had a finger in the 5.13's ending as well.

I'm interested. It could be great, it could be terrible but I'm not going to judge it until I see a few episodes first. I'm hoping it's great because I love Saul as a character :)

Comes off as a desperate from from AMC more than anything else to me. I love BB and can't really see this working out, but I guess I'll give it a shot.

I'm extremely happy with this news. I'm both sad and happy they're closing the Walter White story. It's fucking great and they're stopping at their peak.

Now I'm not sure if a Saul Goodman would be a good main character, but I am very interested in this and I am happy they can't "ruin" the original seasons with this, because it's a separate story.

Saul is a great supporting character, but as a main character? I'm not sure, I'm very interested.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo thanks.

I'd rather have a show about Mike.
He works with Mike. So Mike could be back. Basically everyone but Walt and Jesse and their families could be back.

Huel, buddy from Boston, Mike, Gus, etc. I just hope Gilligan is involved.

My guess would be that it will be more episodic than serialized and he'll have a new client every week. I could see that working.

For weeks now I've been telling my wife there really needs to be some kind of spin-off for Breaking Bad - I've been hoping that it would be Jesse related though - I guess I can live with this - hopefully it's Frasier good and not The Tortellis

Sounds like The Lone Gunmen spin off, which seemed fun in theory, was terrible in practice.

The Lone Gunmen was actually pretty great, completely different tone as the X-Files but they handled it very nicely. They described it perfectly in a Making Of: "Mission Impossible with geeks and humor". I would have loved a second series, as it was clear it wasn't meant to end how it did, and the continuation on X-Files Season 9 wasn't exactly great either.

I'll give it a shot, but I think the character probably works best within the context of the Breaking Bad. Independently, eh, we'll see.

I'm skeptical at best about the whole thing. I still think the idea of a dedicated Saul show is kinda milking it. Hope it doesn't cheapen Breaking Bad's legacy.

EDIT: Yes, I agree, Bob Odenkirk is awesome and deserves all the paychecks coming his way, so that aspect of it is good.

I'm in if they focus more on the lawyery aspects. I want to see Saul manipulating the justice system to the breaking point week after week.

Also I imagine everyone from BB could cameo if it's set in the same area. Saul defends a high school drug dealer, and we see Walt teaching chemistry as Saul walks down the hall. Marie's behind Saul in line at the grocery store! Guess who's working at Los Pollos Hermanos one day when Saul stops in for lunch? They could have tons of short appearances that didn't require character interaction if they wanted.

I'll tune in to hear all the different insults he comes up with to call cops who are interrogating his clients.

Whoa. This is joyous news!

Maybe we can actually get some "Saul in a Courtroom" scenes! Turn this into Law & Order: BCS

I can't believe they were serious with this. I was hoping Vince Gilligan could continue making self-contained, finite stories that ends when it needs to as opposed to when ratings drop like a rock. I don't see Saul being nearly interesting enough to carry a show on his own. Title makes it sound more comedy than anything.

Instead of an hour long show about Saul, they should make a weekly day in the life episode of various supporting characters. Saul, Huel, Bill Burr, Badger, Tuco, Mike, Brock, Walt Jr., the crack whore, Ted, Gus, Don Eladio. Each show should basically be one off side shows, and can vary in tone, style, and time frame each week.
