Wait arnt we suppose to be excited about the Prince of persia game? Seems everywhere I go BG&E2 has stolen its spotlight.
Thats because no one ever expected BG&E to get a sequel. It was a colossal failure in sales.

Don't you get it? Shenmue 3 IS yakuza.

Oh, I get it. But is Sega willing to drop the $$$ into both Yakuza and Shenmue 3? Which series has done better for them? If they're going to do S3, then they cannot hold back. They have to exceed the greatness of S2, and be willing to put in the budget that they did with the previous two chapters and more. Are they willing to do that for these two franchises? Or has Yakuza done better overall, that they would choose to focus on that over Shenmue.

BTW, what ever happened to Shenmue online?

Shenmue Online - canned
Yakuza US - bombed
Yakuza 2 US - apparently coming over, sub only.
Shenmue 3 - probably won't happen

I think Yakuza remains a mostly Japan-only franchise.

I think beyond good and evil is in everyon's top 10 of last generation

the best game ubisoft has ever made

Not mine. I liked the game well enough, but the stealth sections were terrible to the point where I got to the third or 4th one and finally had enough with the game and never finished it.

You're close. It actually released five days after the best game Ubisoft ever made.

Just how big of a colossal failure was part one anyway? I was there day....3 ish, a buddy of mine convinced me to buy it :lol

I was given the PC version last Xmas. I havent even install it. I played a demo on PS2 and I cant say I was too thrilled but then again most demos fail to connect with me.

I will check it out soon. I still cant believe that's even in-engine. That far surpasses the in-engine scenes from Heavenly Sword!

I must be the only gaffer that didn't think BGE was god's gift to gaming. Then again, I played the ps2 port, and didn't make it to the end(got bored). Now that I got SPOILORED I guess I don't have to!

I am pretty sure there is a little bit of an overreaction going on here, like always....The game is pretty fun though, especially the atmosphere of the first game. Also, probably most people never thought a sequel would be made....

Woah, the pig looks hardcore now. Like taken out from the new Duke Nukem!

It kinda lost the nice cartoon-like personality it had but what the hell, it´s BG&E 2, i´m there day 1

Nah, I really never got the GAF hype on this one either, I enjoyed it, but it wasn't really that special to me.

Lets hope it remain consistent throughout development.

The most prominent thing about BG&E was its production value. It was simply uncanny.
The graphics, sound and voice acting was all past the standards of what was available.
Thats what made it stand out for some. And the other reason it didn't for most
was because it was a platformer and ubi flubbed the marketing.

I wonder if UbiSoft decided to save Prince of Persia over Beyond Good & Evil in 2003 partly because they could dangle BGE in front of Ancel like a carrot.

I like Phantom Hourglass, but for the console games the formula has been the same since Ocarina. I like those games too and WW is in my favorite games list, but Nintendo hasn't exactly "reinvented" the franchise or strongly refined it.

IE: Mario went to space complete with awesome new gravity puzzles and orchestrated soundtrack. Link's been in Hyrule with Epona and MIDI-ness for well over a decade.

- Dogz Wii
- Rabbids 3 Wii
- Imagine Babyz Wii

(Fine there were other stuff, but they all pale next to BG&E2!)
It wast shown @ UBIdays but IGN insists that Red Steel 2 is still coming, but is being rebuilt from the ground up. so Wii only gamers can take solace in that.

Honestly, I'm glad this is a 360/ps3 because I want the game to be big and gorgeos, but I'm not sure I'm feeling this art style. Something more cartoony would be better I think, but thats a minor qualm. Cant wait for more details.

Thats enough Zelda talk as far as I'm concerned. Once you bring that shit up people wont let it go.

If they don't make it on Wii, it will be one of their biggest errors.
Maybe they have a stripped down version of this new engine. :/ I can't see why anyone would want to play without the eyecandy of this beauty though.

wat?
Im a wii supporter, but most Wii owners are shitty consumers. I think that the first one didnt warrant enough sales to makr it an exclusive on a nintendo centric console.
Furthermore, I cant think of anything about the original that makes it a better fit for wii.
Developers need to STOP shoehorning games onto tht Wii when they are better suited to other consoles. Its different for a fame like Okami that had obvious benefits that could be gained, but this aint Okami.

I've never even played the first one, I'm honestly about to just buy it for PC since it hasn't been added to Xbox originals yet.

Is the game Backwards compatible on 360? If so, I might just by the xbox version of that instead (My PC blows, I hate playing games on it in fear of a crash).

I'm not a fan of cell shaded at all, if this is the art style of this game, day 1 purchase. It looks gorgeous to me.

Not BC yet.

The original wasn't cel-shaded either.

I didn't get the chance to play this first game. Its mega cheap on Steam right now but i'm not quite sure if its as good on PC? Should I just try and find a used PS2 copy?

Is it possible to buy this game and give it as a gift to someone in a region where this game is not available?

Sorry to quote myself, but again, is it possible to get this game as a gift on steam from someone if it's not available in your region?

Why does everyone is saying it's realistic ?
A pig eating bees with his nose and a girl (?) doing yoga on a flying car being protected from the sun by a giant cocktail umbrella doesn't seem realistic to me !

Please tell me where do you live so i can enjoy real life with you ? :lol

I liked BG&E, and this game has huge potential. I don't know about the realistic look though. The more muscular pig and less dressed Jade kind of make me suspect there will be some guns and cleavege.

But it looks great, and if the gameplay is as good as the best parts of BG&E it will be a day one purchase.

Compared to the first game the environment and characters have a much more realistic feel.

Meaning less stylized than before, which probably happened due to hardware limitations. I think it was a little more charming, but it probably has more to do with the setting more than anything. I'm afraid the children are going to look really weird though.

Sorry but i personnaly haven't seen enough to say that they're going in a different character and environment design.

It seems the same to me but few years later that's why characters have changed. They (i hope) have more to give us than the first one with better graphics and i expect some change. Story of the first one was nice. In Ancel i trust !
