AFAIK, they are using the same VA's used for all the Warner Bros. Animation recent movies and series.
Injustice dubbing is superb due to this, because there is consistency between the video game characters and their animation equivalents.

Theres no reason why games that feature different languages couldnt give you the option to choose without having to change the console's system settings.

In a perfect world every game would let us change it like Sony's first party games like Horizon, Uncharted and TLoU where we can change them in the Options menu of the game and even mix and match them between text, subtitles and voice overs. Because there's no reason why I shouldnt be able to play Zelda BotW with english game text but latin spanish voice acting since they're all already on the disc/cart!

Even Square Enix in their massive FFXV lets us mix and match as well! Do it, Nintendo!

I've always been fond of the English MGS dubs.

MGS' English voice acting blurs the line between it being a dub or the original language track. Especially in the sequels where the game was already known to be a bigger success in the west and made with English in mind first.

Zelda Breath of the Wild in Latin America Spanish is a thing of beauty. I'm enjoying it way more than in North American english. Nintendo really messed up with english dub, sounds very amateur-ish.

I actually do that plenty of times with Sony's games Shame that hasn't been *as common* these days on the PS4 (where one must change the system language with some games).

After comparing the French and English voice-overs of the Game of Thrones RPG (made by French studio Cyanide), I decided to go with the English one.

I'm not sure which one is considered native in this case, but I found the English voice of the character Mors to be incredible. I'm sad that the dude who voices him (Colin Solman, not to be confused with Colin Salmon) is not more famous.

Currently playing Zelda in Latin Spanish, which I feel it's better than the English VO. Eventhough some people complained that the pronunciation for "Hyrule" isn't right on that version of the game.

"Irule" sounds good to me, deal with it. Nintendo already mentioned that this is the cannon pronunciation.

Overwatch's Latin America dub was made in Mexico by Pink Noise, a dubbing company that has worked with Blizzard, Sony and Microsoft for several dubs, and also they have a lot if not most of the best voice actors in and Latin America.

You can find interviews with the voice actors in the Overwatch LatAm Youtube channel, and I can say that their work is top notch. The only one I don't like is Junkrat, despite fitting the character well, is almost the exact same voice as Marty from Madagascar, and gives the impression that the voice actor doesn't have a big range of voices, but that's not a problem in game and is more an "issue" I find because I like Voice Acting and Dubbing a lot.


Also, here in Latin America we used to get the Castilian Spanish dub of games. I don't really know about other countries' take on this, but here in Mexico, we have a certain cultural disdain of Castilian Spanish dubs in cartoons, movies and videogames, so when they started bringing Latin American dubs into games, it was surprising to see such high quality dubs in games, especially from first party games (I know Overwatch is not a 1st party game, by the way)..

Planescape: Torment in Polish is easily one of the all-time greats.

Been playing FFXV in french. The localization is amazing. The Script is better and the VAs are incredible. Its would take a lot to beat it. The only downside is that they kept the english script for the subtitles so there is a bit of a disconect between what they are actually saying and what the subtitles say.

10/10 Would recomend especially if you are fluent enough in french to turn off the subs.

Most Resident Evil games after Revelations 1 have solid international dubs. Only oddity is male characters in Castilian Spanish tend to sound like gameshow hosts.

Has been said before but breath of the wild's Latin America Spanish dub is great. Everything just felt more epic. After beating the game switched back to English and yikes at those voices. Really wish I could have English text with the Spanish VO since it took some milliseconds longer to register the Spanish text in my head.

Does it count to point out a game or series that has characters that speak a different language even in the English versions? If so, as someone who speaks Russian, I have to say that most games that feature Russian characters that also speak Russian in-game handle it pretty terribly. The COD series in particular is just too much for me to handle. The Russian voice acting in those games are just awful for the most part. Seriously. Do they never bother to find voice actors who actually speak Russian?

Imagine if there was a Russian video game that featured American characters, and whenever those characters would speak English, their English would be so terrible and they would speak with a heavy Russian accent to the point where it is obvious that whoever voiced them doesn't speak English for shit. Yeah........that's how bad it is for someone like me to witness somebody trying to speak Russian in a game.

Again, sorry if this isn't what the thread is about. Just had to get that one off my chest. Anybody else here that speaks Russian and knows what I'm talking about?

^In that sense, Punch-Out!! for the Wii is pretty great. Every fighter speaks his mother tongue only and they all sound very authentic. I can't really tell if they got native VAs for each, but it seems like that's the case.

Grim Fandango has pretty much the best german video game dub. It's genuinly great. It does lose a bit of the Noir flair the english language dialogue is going for, but other than that, it's great. Can't think of any other game with a good german dub like that. Even the other LucasArts adventures are kinda iffy with their german dub/translation.

I guess Gothic 1 & 2 are much better in german than english, but in those cases, german is the original VA. And the first game's german VA isn't even all that great, it's just that the english dub is absolutely horrendous. The second game in german is genuinly good though.
