Big PS3 Announcement March 31

I doubt there will be a price drop though. Sony still has a few cards it can play before a pirce drop. Also with the strenght of the yen, it would be madness.

Things sony might announce but prob won't for the ps2:
1) creating new divisions in the developing world to sell and market the ps2
2) Waggle controller?
3) variations for the developing world with hard-drive, access to internet, to combat piracy (like that weebo system in brazil)
4) built in upscaling chip

things sony might announce but prob won't for the psp
1) another nub
2) no umd (they need umd cuz kids usually buy stuff in cold hard cash)
3) its 3g connected
4) it can also be used as a cellphone
5) the piracy problem is over
6) price cut
7) music store
8) Ebook store
9) Magazine subscription service

Anyways i ran out of real ideas like after my first one. Most of this is just me throwing shit against the wall and hoping one of them sticks. Too bad it won't be either a price cut or BC. Hell my guesses are more likely to be real then a pricecut or BC.

I wonder if the're serious about releasing an e-comic store on psp. I remember getting an email for a poll regarding that as a feature, but I don't think the market's really there for it.

If you wanted the feature and weren't willing to pay for it when all indications were that Sony was going to quietly kill it, then you obviously didn't want the feature badly enough.

i'm bored and its late at night. Also, i feel BC and a price cut for the ps3 just won't happen. Anything on that crazy list is just as likely to be announced as BC or a price cut.

Ebook store, magazine, comic books and the like seem possible, I actually expect it on PSN by the end of the year, as well as a music store, Sony didn't create a whole new division for PSN just to mess around. The no UMD PSP can easily be fixed by just selling the games on memory sticks instead of UMDs.

Also it's zeebo and Sony actually has big plans for Latin America and will start manufacturing PS2s in Brazil this year. Make a long story short, it'll allow them to sell the PS2 (maybe the PSP as well) and its games for a competitive price, something that does not happen there now.

Anyways I don't think it's a price cut, I'm kinda hoping it's software emulation BC for PS2 as well as PSTwo classics on PSN, even though I know that's not gonna happen. I'm keeping my expectations low.

Does anyone know how much it cost Sony to make a PS2? I'm guessing $70-$80 bucks at the most.

Release of the 'classic' PS3 model with batarang and two HDMI ports. Special visual enhancement makes games play just like their pre-rendered videos!

you mean they are going to announce more first party titles like uncharted, KZ2 and GoW, Heavy Rain, GT5??

I wonder, with the release of the DS and all, could it be a combination of PS2 and PS3 price cuts...to steal the limelight... But that got me thinking, wouldnt a PS2 cut sabotage a PS3 cut a little bit anyway though?

Bandwagoners? Every exclusive that is available right now was announced, and shown by E3 last year, when there were still plenty of BC machines available. Sony even gave the warning that by September there wouldn't be any more BC machines available.
 
this will be even more juicy than keighly-gate

1) days of anticipation built up
2) it's sony (sorry, sony fans are the new gamecube fans...you guys just melt down harder, i don't know what it is)
3) high chance of it being lame (not for any particular reason, just that truly awesome announcements in the gaming industry are few and far between)

If this isn't a 100 dollar price drop, then its not worth mentioning.

...or maybe the red bull air race HOME game is up and running they want to report that 'cases of widespread running man' in home is going to finally begin to drop.

OR....PARTY SYSTEM FOR KZ2...or maybe its a big "HA HA, we tricked you, KZ is being patched to make it as awesome as you were led to believe it would be", like a April fools thing.
