Biggest disappointment of E3?

The Evil Within 2 didn't show up at Bethesda's conference.
I feel the same. For what Bethesda had to show it really didn't deserve it's own conference. Last year I can understand because they had FO4 and Doom but the only interesting thing, to me, was Dishonored II and that could have been shown at Microsoft or Sony.

Breath of the Wild was incredible, but I really would have liked more Nintendo announcements, especially after the Mother 3 rumors from earlier this year.

EDIT: Also that Mass Effect still basically was just a "behind the scenes" type tease. That game must still be pretty far from release.

The guy doesn't even know Zelda is already a girl?!?

You're trying too hard people. It's a game, it's just a game. And if I just tell you the Link you saw is a girl... then what? Is the game the best of all time now?

You're all making Hillary like feminism... the worst one. The one that's counter productive at the end.

Really what many are asking is like voting for Hillary mostly because she's a woman while people should vote for her because she's the best choice.

sadly she'll be the best choice since Bernie won't be here :/ Awesome man here. America should know better :(

There's nothing wrong with wanting Link to be a girl. Especially when Nintendo says terrible things like Link being a girl would 'imbalance the Triforce'

Truthfully? God of War. It wasn't bad by any means but the early gameplay makes it look like The Last of Us/Tomb Raider. Game seeming lost a bunch of what made it unique in the first place.

Probably Agents of Mayhem.

I can understand other games potentially having bad demos, but just from a base concept up, Agents of Mayhem seems very unappealing and lacking the things I liked most about Saints Row (the humor and co-op).

I had pretty low expectations here as well, so coming in far below those was quite disappointing.

Days Gone

Not for being inherently disappointing, but it just seems so generic for something that ate up so much screentime. Time they could've used to show off some better games (like the ones shown in the sizzle reel at the end).

The new Red Dead not being announced

No Mass Effect gameplay

Not even a trailer for any of the new Star Wars games

E3.

Yup. That's right. If you just hate all of E3 then you can fit in with every side of the arguments that go on about who was worst. No one wins. E3 is a terrible overhyped mistake.

No Neo even although that was expected

Biggest disappointed for me would have to be GoW 4. I really thought it would be good but the gameplay they showed at e3 was so bland and boring completely turned me off.

No DMC5. I told myself not to believe, but... I guess that one doesn't count. Similarly I was disappointed by no The Evil Within 2, especially in light of other reveals.

Scalebound looks like it may not come together as an exciting game, even in co-op. That's a very scary thought since I've been excited for it for years. In the back of my mind, I've always been concerned though, ever since they revealed it would have "RPG elements" and how that didn't turn out well for Platinum's Transformers.

Resident EVII simply doesn't appeal to me as things stand; spooky first person games is probably the only genre I dislike more than walking simulators. There is the possibility it will suddenly reveal itself as an interesting FPS that feels like it was made by Capcom, but even then, I'm sad about its genre change as someone who likes unique TPS (which is becoming a rarer thing).

SB and RE7 are the only two games I had any serious (fanboyish) expectations for, so there are the only games that could have really disappointed me, funny enough. This didn't stop me from liking a lot of the games that were shown. Anyway, I guess Nioh and NieR Automata have now come to the top of my expectations when it comes to Japanese action games.

Phantom Dust port was a wonderful surprise, but it's pretty bittersweet after hearing the news of how terrible of a port it was be; I feel bad press will sink its chances of reviving a scene.

I'll add to the scale bound chorus.

When I first saw the cg trailer at the xbone reveal I was like holy moly this is the game that'll make me buy the console.

When I saw the gameplay a year later I was like this looks pretty boring and meh.

When I saw this e3 demo I was like holy shit this game looks lile a complete garbage borefest.

That that Nintendo's weird hatred for fem link I guess.

I was so excited to see Ace Combat 7. I mean they showed it last year when they were trying to pitch VR, so of course they would have something more this year.

Instead, it's not only absent from the press conference, it wasn't there at all. I'm not yet worried about its development, but I gotta get my arcadey flight sim fix.

Nintendo. I'm not that big on Zelda, so all the BotW stuff didn't do much for me. The only thing they had that I liked was Rhythm Heaven Megamix's surprise launch. I wish they had a couple more new announcements.

I agree on all this but EW2 as I didn't care for the first. We share the other points though.

No Final Fantasy VII Remake whatsoever. I wasn't really expecting anything in the first place, so hardly too disappointed.

I was also hoping for a full reveal of Wolfenstein: The New Colossus, not just a tease on the name.

Resident Evil going full Amnesia. I guarantee you the commercials for that game will be Pewdiepie and whoever overreacting to every Jumpscares.

ScaleBound looked terrible and no info on Crackdown 3.

I'm not surprised that Days Gone disappointed as many as it seems to have because the demo was a strange way to introduce people to a game that's supposedly open world, that being said I like Sons of Anarchy and I'm into the idea of an open world zombie game that's mixed with SOA themes. I'm also curious if Days gone frees up Naughty Dog to make another new ip which I would love.

Also still no release date for God Eater 2!

no new wolfenstein
no doom sp dlc
no dark souls 3 dlc news
Seeing them go forward with more Doom MP maps is going to be weird. All of the praise has been for the campaign. But even Doom 3 got an expansion, and this game is much better, so hopefully they do not completely whiff on this.

I thought there would be a lot of Mass Effect gameplay and stuff, or a reveal of Bioware's new IP by the old Mass Effect team.

But we didn't get much at all...

Most of the games show and microsofts conference if I'm being honest with myself. Gears looked like it could have come out in 08, scalebound just looks boring and I don't even know what to say about recore.

E3 came and went. I came occasionally.

However, there were low points. Points of low altitude. Like when I learned that Persona 5 won't have dual audio. The game looks like an interactive anime, and the illusion of being a high school student in Japan (with all the cultural idiosyncrasies that entails) will be broken somewhat. The dub in P4G was periodically off-putting (the kotatsu, oh the kotatsu!), but it was above average for 2009. I was hoping never to hear honorifics in a dub ever again, though, but here we are.

A little (well, excuse my humility) part of me also wilted when I heard that Days Gone won't have any multiplayer. I kind of go giddy thinking about all the possibilities of that zombie horde, like a last human standing/survival mode type of deal.

What say you, GAFfodils?

If that's the only negative points to takeaway from persona 5 then we're in for a treat, game looked great to me.

no Final Fantasy 7 remake news, footage, or anything.

How many "insiders" said that Red Dead 2 was going to be announced? Fuck them.

When was the last time Rockstar announced a major title at E3? Was it Agent?

No hope of it being announced at E3.

Crash.

Fuck you Shawn Layden! I expected a new game, not a remaster.

Seriously man, grow up. Doesn't Activision still own the rights?

EA do not know how to put on a press conference or how to do games announcements, they don't get it. I actually thought they learned from last year because apparently "they listened".

Who did they listen to? Showing concepts for upcoming games and people playing with light Sabres....announcing games which appear to be light years away....EA should have had Star Wars fans in pure excitement and buzzing but they just disappointed big time.

Go home EA and think about what you've done.
