Biggest disappointment of E3?

...
Nomura said it will take a bit of time and they released an early gameplay video a bit more than 6 months ago...

I understand, but if we're looking at a multi release schedule of the FF7 releasing in 3 parts what's the release schedule?

Given the announcement and trailer at E3 2015 are we looking at a Fall 2017 release of part 1? Presuming it's the Midgar section of the game if we're talking a three part release.

No FF7: Remake trailer of any kind was my biggest disappointment. I know the focus is on FFXV and WoFF but I'm starting to get worried about the development cycle of the game.

I wouldn't worry that much. I don't think the game was far past the conceptual stage when they first showed it a year ago. I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't out for another 2-3 years.

Easily Mass Effect. After all this time I expected to see something signifcant and all we got were minor behind the scene sections and tech demo footage. No way any of that was real from a gameplay standpoint. The biggest disappointment for me. It was the only major third party game I wanted to see more of going into E3.

Second up would have to be Scalebound. I look at the footage from 2015 and the footage from this year and I want what was shown in 2015 back. Yes the framerate was bad back then but the overall feel of that game felt interesting. What they showed off at E3 2016, and now it might have been just a very bad demo, doesn't look interesting and gives off a worse impression. What they showed off at this E3 just annoyed the hell out of me and I just wanted it to be over. I can't stand watching the youtube version of it either. When a game causes that reaction for me then that's it. There's no point in me following it or caring about it any further.

Resident Evil 7. First person. That is all i have to say. If i wanted to play a FP horror game i would't play the RE series. But there is a reason if instead i did it, and that reason is the kind of view.

Mass Effect Andromeda.

The game has been at 3 E3's now and all they've shown are concept dev diaries and a CG trailer. That game is supposed to be out early to mid next year. The fuck is happening at bioware?

Also, really poor showing of FF15. Like, it actively damaged that games reception.

No thatgamecompany surprise appearance.
I was like 70% sure they might be ready to reveal something small given that it's been ~ 4 years. But I guess we'll have to wait a bit longer. Super curious about what they're going to cook up.

EA's Star Wars content. They have had the license for over 3 years, I was hoping they would have had more to show at this point than load of talking heads telling us things we already know.

A MMO, mp fps, tcg out already. Early footage of a 3rd person game, conformation of a successor to the mp fps.
That is alot.

FFXV looking good in certain demos and horrendous in others. 2nd Capcom not revealing a release date for the Street Fighter V dlc.

Also I wish EA would have showed a trailer for Mass Effect Andromeda much like this one from E3 2006 for the original Mass Effect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Li2MIGxOww

Like everyone else has been saying EA's conference in general was disappointing, Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 looked good but every other one of their games had very little gameplay or details about them.

Also even though everybody knew Nintendo was just focusing on Zelda this E3, I really wished they would have announced another new game for Wii U, 3DS, or NX. Like a new Metroid would blow my mind even though I know its a pipe dream :(

Lack of Red Dead but I also wasn't a fan of Sony pushing Days Gone so hard. It really feels like a Last of Us clone and I can't believe Sony would do that from a 1st party perspective.

I'm sure it'll be a good game and all and I liked the horde of zombies but I don't want Last of Us lite.

:/

and no Ace Combat 7

Ace Combat 7, cmon. I guess it might show up at gamescom, it's more popular in EU.

The absence of Ace Combat 7 :(

I was so excited to see Ace Combat 7. I mean they showed it last year when they were trying to pitch VR, so of course they would have something more this year.

Instead, it's not only absent from the press conference, it wasn't there at all. I'm not yet worried about its development, but I gotta get my arcadey flight sim fix.

Not seeing Ace Combat 7.

I'm surprised we didn't get a new wave of announcements for PS2 Classics.

Sony is really pulling an e-Shop with the drip feed of releases there lately (though Siren is cool).

God Of War. It looked incredible, but I don't want to babysit a whinny brat through the entire game. It reminds me too much of a Naughty Dog game. Hopefully, Kratos' son will get killed off after the first act in the game.

Resident evil, that doesn't look like a RE game, where's Jill,Claire,Leon etc and first person... i'll just buy the remasters/remakes.

Lack of Mass Effect Andromeda content
The poorly played Final Fantasy XV Demo
Spiderman by Insomniac
Scalebound gameplay
No Assassin's Creed Collection
No FF VIII or FF IX for PS4

scalebound was one of my most hyped games but fell very flat now.

not off my radar but not as interested

this avatar nails my reaction to this. hah

Kratos' son. Kid's gotta step his game up.

Kratos was disappointed enough for all of us. What a dick

I think Jeff Gerstmann asked if at any point Kratos picks up his son and uses him as a shield.

I think as soon as XV is out from there onward VII will be at most of the big conferences so don't worry about it's development. Nomura just said to Famitsu that development is going well and they are currently "getting specifics ready for the next information release, and just like we've done with KH2.8 this time, we plan to bring a whole lot out in one go instead of dribs and drabs, so please look forward to it." which I'm guessing will be at PSX. Then I would expect a fall 2017 release for part 1 with the game having a heavy presence at E3 next year.

I don't think I was disappointed in anything. I guess as an XBOX ONE owner I was disappointed in the multiplatform move, but I saw it coming. I plan on keeping mine until I ca buy a better PC, then buying on PC. It's not a big deal for me though since I mainly play my PS4, I think the only game we've played much of on the ONE has been Rare Replay.

I guess I was disappointed by the Crash Bandicoot announcement. I wouldn't mind if they provided some clarity on what the remasters are going to be, and when they'll be available, etc...

Yeah EA once again takes the crown with its silly no show dev talking heads trailers. I'll echo other folk and say the Mass Effect trailer was the most disappointing. It gave a taste of awesomeness but to not show more is worrying.

The absence of anything new about Dreams, I was hoping for Media Molecule on stage playing a bunch of cool mini games created with Dreams, then closing with "Open Beta starting today!".

But alas, they just skipped a week's worth of showing on Twitch they got the modeling part nailed, which everyone interested already knew for ages. Super disappointing.
