RRoD.
They went from dominating the market to barely being second place. They lost billions of dollars. I cant really say its still a good outcome for them. The bigger surprise was PS3 matching 360 LTD sales, despite launching a year after at a higher pricepoint, little to no games at launch and $599 at launch, and losing most if not all third party exclusives. Negative PR all around, corporate arrogance, Crazy Ken and his stupid ****ing quotes, PSN outage, oh man what a disaster.
Yet they managed to turn that around, build SCEW, and emerge in a stronger position coming out.

This generation? I guess TP was a launch title for the Wii.

...what? I think you've got some wires crossed.
New Vegas ran fine imo. I believe Oblivion had similar issues though. How they got away with this and no one filed a class action lawsuit against them, I'll never know. You'd think at some point their pride would have gotten the better of them and they'd have either cancelled the PS3 versions or found a way around the issues.

This explains quite a bit
You guess?
It released on the Wii before it released on the Gamecube if that's what you're wondering.
Wat.
Gerstmann? That was his Kane and Lynch review IIRC.
FF13 on 360
A third option, something that shouldn't have been as big of a shitstorm but it was anyway: the psn hack.
I've seen so many companies getting hacked after that and before that. Somehow they got grilled for it but others didn't. Blows my mind. If people want to hack you they will. Period.
The comments on this are the most depressing thing ever.
For me personally it;s the RRoD. In the 3 years I owned a 360 I had to send the thing in 4 times. That's much worse than the 5 minute phone call to my credit company when the PSN hack occurred.
The biggest (or rather, most pathetic) shitstorm must be the Bayonetta 2 situation, although not technically part of the same generation.
I mean look:
Them Bayonetta 2 tweets still make me want to rip my hair out.
Don't forget the death threat.

My PS1, PS2, and PS3 all had their lasers fail within 5 years of purchase.
That being said, FFXIII going to 360 and the continuing trend of former exclusives going multiplatform shortly after that is probably the biggest shitstorm. It's nowhere near as important in the grand scheme of things, but it stirred up so many loud, passionate, and dumb emotions in a lot of people.
LOL the comments are hilarious, it's so obvious that the man is acting.
Yup, my choices for those two questions as well.1) PS Network hack
2) FIFA/Xbox Live account exploit
