Bill Cosby Arrest Warrant Issued

Glad this piece of shit has been arrested. Hopefully justice is served. I feel so betrayed...I enjoyed and loved the BCS growing up as a little kid. But what the victims feel, I cannot even comprehend. What a morbid and tragic case.

A bit off-topic, but back when Bill Cosby was in his "prime", was he able to deliver solid comedy? Was he considered to be a funny comedian?

My friends had sent me some of his best material, & no matter how hard I try, I found most of it to be pretty terrible. Even before all of these charges had landed on him, I wondered how people found this prune to be a funny comedian. :/

I grew up with him and thought he was hilarious.

Particularly, the Noah stuff, and the Weird Harold/Fat Albert stories. A lot of them are just chuckle-worthy until you get to a big payoff at the end, then the are hilarious. They are slow-build yarns, not one-liners.

This whole revelation about him has been really upsetting, considering how much I liked that stuff. Cosby, Carlin, Cheech and Chong were all go-to comedey albums of my childhood.

Maybe it's my complete and utter mistrust of the american media when it comes to black people in this country but something about this seems...off. It also doesn't help that I'm from Philly and this guy was an Icon in this city so trying to separate that from the facts is pretty hard. But at the end of the day I've seen the american media use black people as a tabloid spectacle more than anything else. Forgive me as I know may not be the correct forum for this type of discussion. Maybe I should just stay out this thread?

What does the media have to do with it?

Here's the thing.

1) Bill Cosby admitted in court documents to giving quaaludes to women so he can have sex with them.

2) A former NBC employee named Frank Scotti, admitted to arranged meetings, cash payments, apartments and more with a string of models and other women on behalf of Cosby during The Cosby Show run on the network between 1984 to 1992. Many of the women who are accusing Cosby of rape were actresses who appeared on The Cosby Show.

So it's difficult to call it a big media conspiracy. There is definitely some smoke to this fire.

if anything the media helped cover this shit up for years and didn't dig into the smoke to get to the fire. It was a comedian's joke (Hannibal Burress) going viral that sparked all of this shit, not some media investigation. Your conspiracy theory is misguided. Yes society is absolutely unfair to people of color in many ways, but Bill Cosby, like R. Kelly before him and OJ Simpson before that, is not the hill to die on for that cause.

This is your fourth post in this thread. You are doing a pisspoor job of staying away.

Also remarkable how you not give one fuck about his predominently afro-american victims.

I was watching the allegation special on CNN. One of the accusers made an interesting point: that it was ironic how a "joke" about the allegations (by Hannibal Buress) was what made this story gain traction.

Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to defend him. I am openly wishing I had a more objective outlook on the case. Thats the hard part for me. You know the old saying, "even a broken watch is right twice a day". There are may other battles to fight and you're right, dying on a hill defending Bill Cosby is not the fight.

Riley Freeman's "R. Kelly speech". Change it to Cosby and yup, the point is made.

There's blowing up a story when there is very little corroboration and there this piece of shit who is a serial rapist

Now that I think about it, I didn't even hear about the allegations until this thread.

Looks like I wasn't the only one. It was a real eye-opener.

Made this in another thread

What kills me about Cosby is how black people cape for him. HE has done a lot of charity, but that said he spent the last 20 years telling black folks need to pull their pants up and we are own worse enemy.

But now Bill going to jail is about race.

Seriously if anything he is the type of person the "white media" wouldn't want to go down because he is the prime example of preaching down at black people

You genuinely believe this is about race? Pretty sure it is about the many women he raped and drugged. I don't really think the fact that he is black some how makes this conspiracy theory of yours less absurd.

If people were out to get bill why did they stop when this originally came out? It's been known since I was in highschool and that was in the 90s

Here is the thing. Separate from the Bill Cosby case, I do not have a high regard for the mainstream media overall and I think less of them when it has to do with the fair reporting of black issues in this country. That's where my conflict, not conspiracy blooms. I know and believe there is validity to the story. I was only trying to express how hard it is form me to be objective about something that hits so close to home. The way I worded the OP may have put the focus on race and that was only part of the point.

I defer to those of you who have been following this story for the jump. I am not trying to defend Cosby or ignore the victims (don't know how that person thought I was)

Better? (probably not but I tried)

Rape allegations over the course of 50 years, coming from over 50, predominently afro-american women were surroundingly ignored because they were against a favourite of white people and done by afro-american women.

Feel better now?

Love or hate the NY Daily News, they know how to grab people's attention with their covers

Does it seem off? I recommend you watch the AP video where they asked him about the accusations and he goes into full Gus Fring mode and threatens the guy not to publish the interview while his wife sits there scared and smiling. He's a complete monster. I'm from Philly too and I'm disgusted that he had us all fooled for so long.

Yeah, that shit makes my blood boil. He's gotten off for years now shaming people for having their pants on the ground. But like, that's better than raping women.

Oh sure, the white businessman illuminati group did this and paid Hannibal to do that routine, right? They are trying to get some kind of unexplained "revenge" on Bill Cosby because there's surely nothing ultra conservative white businessmen wouid hate more than a beloved black entertainer with a 50 year career who has generated billions of dollars in profit for them while slamming and insulting his own African American community repeatedly.

Really? That is what you got from my post. I realized that this was not the forum to discus my thought, which I admitted was not very thought out however, there is a fair amount of liberty being taken from what I said there. Not just you Agent, but from other people as well.

I see your point, but why, for crying out loud, do you apply it to this case? Just...why?

haha, that's an awesome refute to people who said it's just a case of "he said she said"

like some posters in this very topic

It was more like "Cosby is innocent until proven guilty, but some of these women are surely not innocent because they lie to get dollars out of him."

I hope Gaf was never as disgusting as in this thread.

Well, this just happened...
Cosby Won't Face Charges

... I'm not sure if that's dropping ALL the charges, or just these two incidents.

Either way... not surprised. Disappointed, but not surprised.
Quote from the article:
Certainly moving forward presented serious challenges for the L.A. County D.A. as California laws gives prosecutors 10-years to pursue criminal charges in a rape case but the statue of limitations is generally around half of that on assaults such as Goins claims.
Statue_of_Limitations.jpg

So all of the charges were dropped or just these few?

There will be no charges in the LA case. The statute of limitations ran out on any of the minor charges and there isn't enough evidence to prove anything more severe happened.

This has no effect on the PA case.

Didn't think that this was thread worthy so I bumped this One instead. One of Bill Cosby's accusers, Chloe Goins, dropped a diss track towards Bill. After her cased was dismissed of her being raped at the playboy mansion didn't match up seeing that Bill was out of town.

http://youtu.be/zzbdBblEODI

This is the type of BS that makes me think that half of Bill's so called victims are just looking for a check and some fame.

Makes the other possible victims look bad. What do you think Gaf?

That's quite a logical leap. Even if it were half then what would that really change? Bill Cosby raped a lot of women even if we aren't sure the exact number.

What do I think? I think in a deposition Bill Cosby admitted to drugging and raping women. One or two women lying for attention will never change that. And if I had to wager, I'd bet that for every woman that lies about this, there's another 10-20 women not willing to come forward.

Even if Cosby only raped 1 woman, the man should be in prison.

Mike Tyson was accused of raping 1 woman, went straight to prison.

TMZ or someone else should go and ask the piece of shit actors that support Polanski what they think of Bill these days.

I agree, do the crime then you do the time, but these women Who weren't really assaulted and gets proved that they were lying. Aren't helping the victims' cases only damaging it

Oh wow do you have a link to this? Would seem pretty damning. I always thought he claimed any drug use was consensual.

Well, he obviously doesn't use the word "rape". He merely drugged them and while they were drugged had sex with them and then admits to paying some of them off to not tell the story.

"I took her silence to mean consent" is a phrase he used in his deposition to explain why he had sex with one of the women that he first had given drugs to.
