Billie Eilish-No Time To Die

About 6 months or so ago someone on social media was saying that Billie Eilish was the Kurt Cobain of the modern generation - I was like, who the fuck is Billie Eilish?!?

Checked a few songs - meh. Mediocre pop music. She's getting attention for being slightly different from the ridiculously samey sounding shit that is pushed non stop.

>WHY YES I FIND WILLIAM EYELASH ATTRACTIVE HOW COULD YOU TELL

The fact that the amazing atheist, brad jones and rich evans are in this confuses me. They're like the opposite of this meme stereotype.

I grew up with Bond (Goldeneye N64, Craig films etc.) there's something to be said about being connected to his historic franchise.

Hot Take: Nirvana was a bland, unremarkable group that only got super popular because of the (at the time) popular aesthetic of "try too hard and you're not cool" thing.

Soundgarden and Alice In Chains ran circles around them.

I dunno man, I think Bleach, Nevermind, and In Utero are damn good albums and Nevermind really shifted music and pop culture quite a bit.

Having said that, yes, I too would also rather listen to Soundgarden and Alice in Chains. Bummed I never saw either band before their respective lead singers passed - I got to see Cornell with Audioslave though.

This bitch has nothing on Madonna!

GUESS...DIE...ANOTHERDAY!

That was a daring and divisive Bond theme.

Madonna was also one the few artists to have mild to big hits post Bond-theme release.

BTW, "A View to a Kill" is probably my fav Bond song of all time.

Wrong young talent selected. I just don't understand what people see in Eilish's music.

Should've picked this talented young lady instead:

This is the exact same shit I heard about Lorde.

"She is different. She is sad and mopey guys." Who gives a fuck. It all sounds the same.

I enjoyed her when Facebook still had it's claws in me, the CIA plant thing maybe truer than many believe. I can't stand her now, and I certainly don't think she's Bond material

Give me some Billy Idol instead

This is the best Billy, I love Billy Idol

This song sucks. It's too blah and slow. No emotion or oomph to it. And Eilish's appeal perplexes me - the whispering, the low energy, the lack of sex appeal - but so does the popularity of many other things I guess.

I liked it, but then again, I like Billie Eilish in general. Her album is pretty great IMO.

Where's POPGAF when you need them?

Her mother.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maggie_Baird
Actress, singer, song writer. Homeschooled the kids right into a music career.
Her father Patrick O'Connell is also a musician/actor.
Her brother https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finneas_O'Connell
Also a musician, produced her stuff.

-its kind of a meme because everyone in her family is a successful singer/actor.
And the music industry is rigged for pop stars to shine.

Nothing good about recent pop music, but get ready for Lizzo to win a Grammy since Billie got one+.

I'm not trying to join in the rabid hate she doubtless gets from all corners

I'd just like someone to speak to my first impression that she has failed to, like, belt a single note in her entire oeuvre.

She always has a face like a smacked arse. What does she have to be so fucking miserable about?
On the one hand, she may be miserable about whether people take her seriously and question her integrity and background.

On the other hand, it's part of the act. The priviliged, comfortable-background, doors-opened-for-you struggles that only the disaffected young could know the meaning of. So misunderstood. So lonely. (Buy my album plz).

She making over a million+ at least for that 3 days work! ITs insane when you have connections in the music industry how much these gigs pay for advertising etc.

Multiple Grammys for a debut album that is 50% trash
Both parents in the entertainment industry
Homeschooled
Brother writes all her music for her
"Depressed"
Some of the worst "LOOK AT MEEEE" fashion of her generation
Barely (?) out of high school, but lyrics *still* too cringe for her age
Immediately gets to sing a Bond theme

Okay.

We are the music industry, we tell you who to like and what to get your kids hooked on with the mind control!

It's not horrible, Lana del Rey would do it better.

I thought she was pretty good on Hot Ones, going back for more Da Bomb.

This was obviously a marketing ploy from the producers.Billie has her subdued style a lot of ppl like but its completely wrong for a bond theme she just lacks the range and power for it
