biohazard 0 for Wii: Coming Summer 2008?

Again? Really?

News like this makes me happy I sold my year old system for a profit. Come on third parties, stop treating this system like crap so I can be enthused about it once more.

No, who the fuck said that?

I don't know. It seems like all I ever hear these days are plaintive pleas for various companies to port X, Y, and Z games over to the Wii with special magical "intended from the start" remote control schemes.

:lol Dude, come on. This is a cashgrab, end of story. Thinking it's going to lead to anything else is just setting yourself up for more of, well, this.

Everything's a cashgrab. That doesn't stop this from being a reasonable indicator of what's to come ahead. Eventually Capcom is going to run out of RE games to port, unless they decided to do the Outbreak games and Gun Survivor games, which is extremely unlikely. Capcom's own prior history with the Phoenix Wright series on DS also proves Capcom doesn't cashgrab and run off to do absolutely nothing with what they've built. It's not their style.

Yeah, but how long is that gonna take? The GameCube was four years old when it finally got a full, new sequel.

Stop being misleading. No one here has ever clamored for a fucking RE Zero port. Come on.

Maybe, like, a year ago for Okami. You should get these voices you hear checked out.

"So RE4: Wii Edition and RE:UC sold fantastically, Zack & Wiki sold okay for an adventure game with barely any advertising, We Love Golf wasn't advertised and released at a bad time so it bombed in Japan...

Okay, we'll give you Monster Hunter 3... but we need to run more tests if you want more. Port Harvey Birdman and Okami (two of the biggest sales-generating forces in the industry) just to make sure. Oh, and Resident Evil 0. Seven tests should be enough if we're lucky."

That´s pretty much what they did...
"So RE4 sold well on the Wii?!So, let´s port ALL other RE GCN, starting with RE0"

BUT, if they upgrade the gameplay RE4 style, then it could make this game more palatable...

Awesome. Another awful looking RE Wii game which makes no attempt to take advantage of the system's graphical capabilities, and which will look like a jaggy mess on my TV. RE4 was forgivable; RE:UC and RE0 are not. I wonder how long I'll have to wait for a Wii game which plays like RE4, but looks comparable to Metroid Prime. By which I mean "not physically painful on an HDTV".

Uh? Resident Evil 0 came out just under a year after the GameCube was initially released. Like it or not, it was a FULL, new Resident Evil game... and just because it was a prequel does not keep it from being a legitimate entry.

I don't get all the hate for RE0. I actually really liked the Inventory system -- it actually made sense, unlike Item Boxes. But unlike RE4 or Okami, I don't see why they'd port this to Wii other than the aforementioned "cashgrab".

Still, if it's budget price and they at least add in control type C for regular controllers, I'll get it.

Thanks capcom, another test right?

Seriously, this "buy this X game or not Z game for you" is getting beyond absurd. Is like Capcom is trying to pull another RE4 Wii edition, sadly (for them) is not gonna happen in hell with this game.

cheap Capcom =/

Capcom high scale fucktardation delivered the fun again...
If i was told five years from now that i'd be able to buy this annoying game in a brand new release again in 2008 on another console... this is ridiculous.

I quite clearly said sequel. RE0 felt more like a spin-off of REmake then a sequel. Which had more impact, RE0 or RE4?

As good as REmake and RE0 were (esp REmake), I felt like they were something of a waste of time in the end, as they delayed RE4 so long. An earlier release of RE4 (say, mid 2002) would have benefited the series and the GameCube immeasurably.

I wish they would at least combine them into a collection

Please Capcom. Release the RE Ultimate Collection.

RE Ultimate Collection (Xbox 360, PS3): RE0, REmake, RE2, RE3, RE:CVX and RE4 all with HD graphics and achievements/accomplishments

Shit, if they get REmake graphics into RE2, RE3, and RECV (which needs it the least), I'd drop a cool $100 bucks for that collection.

Neither do I. I found it to be great., My only problems were the enemy designs were so retarded (giant animals and insects lolz), and the story was a mess. Everything else was pure old school RE goodness. I think a lot of people were just really tired of the formula by the time RE0 hit.

Yeah, and I quite clearly said that you got it: It's a fucking video game. It doesn't matter if the "story" takes place after a previous game or before, it is the NEXT ITERATION OF THE FRANCHISE.

This isn't about impact. It's about what you implied -- that the GameCube didn't have a new legitimate Resident Evil title for four years. Which is complete bullshit.

RE0 had no effect on the development of RE4 since it was by a different team. RE4 came out so late because its initial build became Devil May Cry. Then Capcom came out with one build with the Cradle of the Progenitor Virus, which became the haunted mansion version. Then Mikami stepped in and directed the game himself, changing it into the final version we got. An RE4 in mid-2002 would not have been anything close to the one we got.

Another victory for Wii. Resources are indeed shifting. Next gen is shaking in its boots.

This

I'm not able to sell my Wii as my 4 year loves Mario Galaxy (I love the game also but have beaten it, so meh). It pains me to know I could sell it for a profit ATM.

If this turns out to be true then don't bother. Just get the gamecube version for cheap and play it on the Wii. This is sad why not remake Biohazard 2 instead.

ugh
0 was the worst Resident Evil game I've ever played...especially disappointing that it came after the absolute best of the classic REs (REmake)

If they'd redo the backgrounds for 16:9 support I'd be interested, but... yeah right. They're not going to go to that trouble.

My reaction would be the same (and will be from the looks of it) no matter what game they were porting / remaking / wiimaking / toaster ovening. This needs to stop.

Nothing wrong with remakes Alaluef. Have you played Resident Evil 1 remake? It shits on the original. If they can do that for Resident Evil 2 on the Wii I would be there day one.

Geez we wanted at least an RE2 Remake...not a port of a game I can play fine on my Wii already

RE4:Wii was a port of a game that played fine on the Wii as well. I think a traditional RE with Wiimote controls could be interesting if it was made into a point and click game. You can't move and shoot in RE anyhow, so there's no reason why point and click couldn't be used for both movement and combat. Just look at Diablo and a thousand other games for the PC.

I agree that Capcom's Wii efforts should consist of more original content and less ports, but if they're going to make cheap ports of old Resident Evils anyhow (as they've been doing since the Dreamcast), they might as well put some effort into making the controls innovative.

So basically, buying RE 4: Wii edition told Capcom that the Wii userbase likes RE ports! I kind of figured that would happen.

Sad but what if it didn't sell then Capcom would think these type of games don't sell to the Wii userbase. Wii only users are damned if they do and damned if they don't.
