Bioshock Musical Score FREE DOWNLOAD Released

This is what happens when a developer is earnestly happy that everyone loves their games and doesn't get cocky about huge sales --they turn it back around and dish out more content.

This is so great.

And yeah, I know I'm a fucking weirdo, but I refuse to listen to any of the tracks that contain music I haven't heard in-game yet.

Same here, I'm downloading it for later. Artbook too.

Stupid that the later half of the album us listed as the song titles for the artist names. Zune software has a fit when I try to fix it.

The soundtrack definitely reminds me of LOST's. It almost feels as if Michael Giacchino composed this music.

Exactly. Really love the score. I can't believe we get it for free. Seriously, thanks Irrational. Constant rock.

(I'll be the first asshole to check: 192. THANK YOU IRRATIONAL.)

Also, there's a title in there that I'm VERY suspicious of....

I'd like to second this. I hate when anything is released below a 160 kbps bit rate. 128 sounds like shit to me.

FOR FREE??? BUT MICROTRANSACTIONS ARE TEH FUTURE!!?!? Somewhere a MS/SONY employee is cutting his wrists at this irrational behavior.

Thanks guys, I promise to pick your game up whenever I get a system that plays it.

This is probably the best OST from a game I've heard since SotC. Truly fantastic stuff. Thanks, yet again, Irrational.

This is what I was expecting was going to be on the soundtrack disc included with the Limited Edition.

Great stuff.

The main theme is so beautiful and haunting that I want to cry.

EDIT: Why aren't you guys including "Dancers on a string" on that list?

Cause it's not as good? :P

Not that I think it's bad; like I said, best soundtrack since Shadow of the Colossus. Not a bad track on there. (Of course, without the full licensed music and some of the more ambient pieces, you aren't hearing the full deal.)

I noticed they used Penderecki's The Dream of Jacob in a couple of the levels.

It's in there. I'm not sure who performed all of the classical pieces, though. If Schyman organized a new recording, they could release them.

Much better than the LE disc. I wish it had the game's Beyond the Sea version. The one on the disc was an embarrassment.
That's the only one I've heard from the leaked one. I turned it off half way through and couldn't listen to the others.

Sweet. Someone knew what I was talking about. :D

the only decent song on the Limited Edition soundtrack is "God Bless the Child". I'm not a big fan of it, but it's at least listenable.

Heh, I didn't even realize Bioshock had music (outside the licensed stuff playing on the record players). Pretty forgettable, but they did a great job creating the ambiance so it's not like it matters, reminds me of Doom 3 in that respect.

I really like that they released this for free.

What the hell? Name a gaming score in the past year or two that is better than this score.

I flicked through the PDF artbook as I was listening to the first few songs. Might make powerpoint presentation of it for my own amusement.

Thanks 2K!
