Bioware is currently working on new several other super-secret big projects

KOTOR, Mass Effect, Jade Empire & Dragon Age pretty much guarantee I am interested in whatever single player experience they craft but after Andromeda and Anthem it is hard to give them much credit.

For what is worth, I did think The Old Republic was a pretty decent theme park MMO

lol, all they need to do is make something as terrible as Inquisition and it'll be both heralded as a comeback and the greatest game ever
their output writing wise has been dime store checkout novel tier garbage for the entire decade, the bar for Bioware as set by fanboys is the lowest possible

No lies detected. They're being writing bad YA fiction for quite some time, with every character about as deep as a puddle. They need to take a leaf from CDP and spend a bit more time adding dimension to their characters and storylines, and maybe less pandering to the whims and desires of the gaming press.

I mean, Casey Hudson is there again... so maybe there might be a chance of getting a decent Mass Effect game? But I am not really expecting much, tbh...

The left side of my brain:

"Dragon Age: Inquisition was really cool so that shows they haven't lost that series yet, so they still have promise as a company, and Andromeda had some good ideas, so if they can get back to what made Mass Effect great and add in open world exploration, huge sci fi towns to explore and lots of customization you'll have one hell of a game. Also they'll be more motivated to prove people wrong this time around."

The right side of my brain:

"I said the same thing about D&D after season 7 of GOT and look how season 8 turned out. 😒"

Its a shame I dont even care.

I used to love bioware. Mass effect 1 and 2, dragon age 1, and their previous games were all great games. But ever since mass effect 3 and dragon age 2 they have steadily gotten worse with each game. Each game felt more and more like they were just trying to crank out a game to appeal to as many people as possible as well as be safe as generic as they could. Andromeda was a steaming pile of example of that and anthem was just a complete and utter shit game across the board. Everything they make now is so uninteresting, boring, sterile and cookie cutter that they have nothing of interest to them. They play things so safe that its all sanitized.

Its the same reasons I dont like bethesda anymore and my beloved fallout series is complete shit. Because they also take no risks, want to make everything simply and easy to digest, and refuse to anything that might offend even one single person.

I honestly can't even bring myself to care about anything Bioware is doing these days.
Which is weird, because while I think they peaked with Baldur's Gate 2 and it was all decline from there, I still used to consider most of their titles more or less a safe bet for some decent entertainment, until a certain point.

Dude, wouldn't you say ME2 was the peak(or at least the last decent Bioware game)? I mean c'mon! Tali'Zorah nar Rayya alone is worth the price of admission. Yes I know I'm pathetic, but I just love my quarian waifu!

These threads are all the same, half say they dont care, half explain how sad they are, and the other half do both.

I wish I was excited but I am not. Even if they announce Dragon Age 4 tomorrow there wouldn't be much. The last "good" game they released was Mass Effect 2. Mass Effect 3 was not bad but the start of the decline.

Dragon Age Inquisition gets a lot of hate but the game was actually decent. Nothing like Dragon Age Origins but I think the reason I liked it was because Dragon Age 2 was probably the worst game I have ever played and Inquisition was a gem compared to DA2.

Sadly, I wasted a lot of time played Mass Effect Andromeda because I am sucker for sci fi but I can say that was the most boring underwhelming waste of time game I ever played.

Didn't even bother with Anthem but that speaks for itself.

Does this seem like a studio anyone should be excited about?

The next Dragon Age is the last shot I am giving them and I will wait for critic and user reviews before I even consider buying it.

BioWare is dead. Throw it in EAs mass burial site for all their other acquired developers.

only matter of time for Respawn too.

I am sad because I still want to believe despite not being disillusioned as a fan of the older products. I recently got back into TOR and I really appreciate it more knowing how their more recent products have decreased in all aspects of quality except maybe graphics?

Seriously Bioware, you really think you could ever hype us again about anything you're doing?

I just don't see them as a studio with any pedigree anymore.

I'd love for them to surprise me but I'm not going to get excited for anything they announce.

Maybe they should just concentrate on one super secret regular sized project. Last 2 games felt like games from a developer spread too thin.

Dragon Age 4.. is still in pre-production? So.. they haven't even really started yet? Well, I hope that is because after the clusterfuck that was Anthem, they threw everything away again and started over again, this time doing it right... and not just the usual Bioware management failure...

Bioware is a walking corpse. I'm just waiting for DA4 to come out and fail so that EA will put the studio out to pasture.

I couldn't get hyped for a new BioWare game now even if they announce Mass Effect 4 or a new Star Wars RPG.

Eh, I liked Inquisition, but still am wary and will wait for reviews of the new dragon age after the shitstorm that was Adromeda and Anthem.
