BioWare replayability -- KOTOR, Dragon Age or Mass Effect?

No one remembers Jade Empire
I do. I love the game and think it had the best morality system in a Bioware game. I also really loved the villain as well. A sequel is probably the #1 thing I'd ask for if I could have any gaming related wish granted.

As for the OP, I love all the games you mentioned and have played them all numerous times, but DA definitely has the most replayability. It has the largest amount of different outcomes. Not to mention if you enjoy role playing your characters then the different origins really make that fun.

..I recommend Neverwinter Nights 1/2 with the DLC. It's not a great series and looks like pants but the class variety is only matched by FF5 and Souls series.

Indeed. Hordes of the Underdark for NWN 1 and Mask of the Betrayer for NWN 2 are some of the best RPG games I've played. Not to mention some of the phenomenal fan modules for the two (A Dance With Rogues... ermagerd)

OP: KOTOR is best, then hop right into KOTOR 2 and the restoration mod. Have mind blown away by awesome.

I'm in the mood to play a BioWare game. Which ones have the most replayability?

I played KOTOR all the way through and loved it, but that was ten years ago.

I never got more than six or seven hours into either of the Dragon Age games.

I got halfway through the Mass Effect series (beat Mass Effect 1, got halfway through Mass Effect 2).

If I'm going to sink 20+ hours into a game, I want to pick the right one. Which series is the best to get into? Has KOTOR aged well? Should I give Dragon Age or Mass Effect another shot? If I chose one of those games, do I need to start at the beginning of the series or can I jump into the most recent editions?
Please please go back and give da:origins another chance. It's better than every other bioware game.. And this is coming from a hardcore MASS EFFECT fanboy. Also loved Kotor 1 and 2 and i still consider both games highly replayable.

ME1, KOTOR2, and DAO are probably the ones I would pick with the most "replay" value.

Of those, DAO probably has the most potential, with ME1 and KOTOR2 tied for a close second.

Played through ME1 all the way through about 4 times and 2 and 3 a couple times each.
I also played Mass Effect 3's multiplayer more than any other shooters multiplayer if that counts. lol

Dragon Age I played through once and then did all the origin beginnings but never got more then a few hours past.

KOTOR I played once and loved it but I wasn't really big into RPGs at the time. Would love to try it again someday along with 2 which I never finished.

KOTOR on PC with the resolution fix is a TON of fun to replay.

That said, Mass Effect is an amazing game...it's just more recent and fresh so go KOTOR.

The only one I replayed was ME2. Same gender and path too. I tried going for the opposite, but I just can't picture Shepard as anything other than a badass bitch. It became canon in my mind.

Mass Effect, played 1 and 2 each at least 6 times. Yeah. I liked them a lot.

Dragon Age I loved a lot but I don't really see it being that replayable, it was much longer than ME and KOTOR and was much more of a slow buildup. Sure it has more options and outcomes, but it just wasn't fun enough for me for more than 2, 2 and a half playtrhoughs.

I've replayed ME1 five times and KOTOR at least that many. One time through Dragon Age was more than enough.

For me, Jade Empire remains one of my favourite games from Bioware, second only to Neverwinter Knights. It's a shame that these two are usually forgotten, as they are both competent, but fun, Role-Playing games.

Absolutely go with Mass Effect. It's my personal favorite series of all time and the replayability value is through the roof. despite the fact that the first game hasn't aged all that great I would still suggest starting there. If you're on 360 or PS3 I'd say invest in the trilogy they released because it comes with all the codes you need and all 3 games for a great price. That might be on PC as well but I'm not sure.

I still occasionally get the urge to play through the original Mass Effect. Never felt the same with the sequels.

Dragon Age is good for replayability too especially with mods, but for me the combat was always getting in the way.

No point in replaying any of those if you haven't played Baldur's Gate 2 and its expansion yet. I'm currently playing through it myself atm and it is by far the finest fantasy RPG of all time and easily the best BioWare game. And now that the enhanced edition is available, there is no excuse to wait around.

I recently played through KOTOR and KOTOR2 on PC as I'd only ever played them on Xbox. Enjoyed them almost as much as the first time, but they have dated in the 10 years. Still excellent RPG's though.

I kind of want to play through the Mass Effect games on PC too, might have to pick them up and give them a go.

Mass Effect is quite replayable, especially the very first one.

As for the rest.... Dunno, I have a hard time replaying games in general that are longer than 20 hours.
